WELL---I had a massive stroke in June 2017, spent 9 months in hospital[couldnt do anything, got out in March 2018,very blessed-now walk unassisted, and coach my grand-daughter in softball. Both of my daughters were all-American pitchers in college.two daughters two sons, both sons retired from the Air Force--very proud father and grandfather of 11 grandchildren! Love baseball--I will leave it there for now.

Redemption, huh? Curious name for a team. Also an interesting track record for an owner to have been on ottoneu since 2013 yet have 15 teams all added in the past six months and nothing more longstanding. Care to explain any of that? We're a discerning league; I'm sure I speak for more than myself when I say that I want to hear a little bit more about this to assuage any concerns.

Bryce to philly? Anyone live in Philly? Can you walk around and tell us if he is there?

Welcome Harry. Moss don't grow on a rolling stone... good work, and quick, at remaking the team into your own. Nice fat wallet position for the annual auction draft. Good luck this year and carry on.

Hey my name is Harry. I saw this team was free so I snagged it. I’m an Ottoneu player since 2013 who likes a challenge and this roster definitely needs some work. Happy to be on board.

Good to have you in the Firehouse, Russell; thanks for taking one of the teams. Please feel free to reach out to the other owners to try to get some last minute wheeling and dealing done ahead of Thursday's cut down deadline. From there, we will continue to work on getting all the open teams claimed and set a date for the annual auction draft.

Hi guys. I see the conversation on the board. It worked. New owner here. I’ll be active. Ready to entertain any offers in the last few days before the deadline.
-
Hey dudes, I'm looking to turn my non-Eloy and non-Vlad Jr prospects into MLB players. If you are looking for some future value hit me up.
-
Any help any of you that are still interested can provide in engaging new owners who pick up the abandoned teams, or something like pitching in over on the Community to find prospects, is always appreciated. Hope to see you all on the other side of cut downs, when we'll address any outstanding vacancies and work to schedule the annual auction draft.

We'll push the league tier to $100. It's the best way I can think of to attract an engaged ownership without drafting anyone into a treasurer role. The four teams that are definitely out will be marked as abandoned now to see if anyone picks them up (there are very few $100 tier teams on the abandoned and expired page). Any team that does not make cuts by the deadline (Jan 31 11:59pm ET) will also be marked as abandoned to facilitate finding a new owner for any such squad.

Hi everyone. I'm still here, not sure about Paul. To answer Josh's question, nothing has changed since November. We're still down four teams; we have five verbal commits for 2019, the other three are silent on the matter. This is not exactly the most concerning thing, given past behaviors. I had hoped some of you would be able to recommend new owners or I'd be able to drum up some interest from my base, but no dice. So, here's what we're going to do...

Looks like it might be. One commish hasn't been on since September. Figures, two years of shit and now that the rebuild is over the league crumbles.
If anyone jumps on with a new league and needs an extra player, let me know.

With that out of the way, Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hopefully we'll get some hot stove action sooner than later. Anyone want Yankee Paxton (that just sounds weird but it's what we're left with... perhaps I'll also have Yankee Carlos Carrasco soon enough too)?

Thanks Jimmy. My thought is to set this up as a $20 league with the prize money collected on the side via League Safe or PayPal. Figuring $50 for that, leaving us $600 to redistribute. So, all owners are in for $70 ($20 to Niv for use of ottoneu, $50 to the pool for prizes).

I'll reach out to some baseball FREAKS and see if there is any interest. I know we're going with the $25 to ottoneu and then our prize pool is separate, but do we know if the total is still going to be $50?
-
The downside of the latter is the stand in owner has no obligation to pay for the team and keep it for the 2019 season. There's a certain type of person who will add several of these abandoned squads to shepherd through the post-arb period (through Jan 31) and only keep those in the most favorable leagues. Let me know what you guys prefer.

So, we have four open squads: 1) #6 Organization, 2) BrokenLaces, 3) Gustafson Motors, and 4) Oakland BDs. I have not heard from commish Paul so am soliciting feedback from the remaining owners. We can try to fill these teams through personal referral or mark them as abandoned. The former means the teams may stay fallow through Jan 31; the latter means someone will likely scoop them up and aggressively trade and cut what is on the roster. Cont'd...

I'm going to be bowing out. Thank you for having me the past few seasons. I enjoyed the league very much. I wish you all the best.

Hey all, not too confident in the direction of Firehouse Roto for 2019. We've only had three owners set arbitration, two owners (#6 Org and inaugural member Oakland BD) are leaving, and co-commish Paul is unreachable. You have a week to get arbitration values set (deadline is 11/14 midnight ET). I'm going to change the league to $20 and we'll collect dues for prizes via a separate mechanism. Post up with any comments, questions, or ideas.

I ought to clarify that an earlier post I made was wrong. The $20 league doesn't pay prize money, so you're paying a $20 fee. Which is basically the same as paying $20 to the house out of your $50. To each their own on whether that's worth it, but just wanted to clarify.
-
I vote for the $20 league where redistribute more money among ourselves. I love this format but the rake is getting out of hand.
-
I'm also in regardless. However, I'd prefer that we do whatever maximizes the amount of $ that go to winners. If that means going to a $20 league and then allowing Chris to manage the cash then I'm good with that. Or if it means migrating to a new platform that can do the same job (seems unlikely!) then I'm good with that too.
