I gotta buy a Powerball ticket to have a chance at that kind of money because sadly I'm not good at sports/anything

Hey all, I might be 10-15 minutes late to the draft this afternoon so start without me and Iโll catch up!

If anyone is interested in joining a redraft league, I play in a Razzball Commenter League with a $100 dues (all goes back out as prizes) that needs two replacement owners. More on the format here: https://razzball.com/2019-razzball-commenter-leagues/

Thanks everyone for getting paid up a solid week ahead of the draft. We're all set to go for Sunday @ 1pm ET. Please familiarize yourself with the draft software; you can access the room now via the Auction Draft link in header navigation bar on the home page. See you all then.
-
Draft date of March 16 at 1pm as proposed works for me. I can do earlier that day if needed but not a later start. Anytime on Match 17 is fine as well.
-
The 17th works for me

Re trade review, we can just keep it at 48 hours if there are no strong feelings either way. I thought there may be some desire for this but doesn't look like it from here.

Don't drink too much too early lads, as it looks like we're scheduled for a St.Patrick's Day draft. Budget something like 2-3 hours, given past annuals as a guide.

Iโm cool going to 24 hours, but I donโt have a strong opinion on it either way.
-
I'd like to keep it at 48 hours.

I support reducing trade review to 24 hours. It's fine in-season, but in the flurry of activity leading up to the Jan 31 keeper/cut/trade deadline, it's excruciating.

I cant do the 16th at that time, can swing it early morning or late night (I am in central time) or the next day

Also, a reminder to pay for your team ahead of the renewal date. Next year, all teams are thankfully going to have the same Jan 31 renewal; this should help facilitate league management and perhaps even an earlier (i.e. February) annual auction draft. If you do not pay for your team by the renewal date, it will be marked as expired and be made available on the claim a team page; there's nothing I can do to prevent this so stay ahead of the game.

In the meantime, does anyone else want to move the trade review time from 48 to 24 hours? I believe we're all plugged in enough for the shorter review to work, but if it ain't broke...

Having worked out the various conflicts and preferences to the best of my ability, we're going to put the league on sleep mode for a month and come back for the annual auction draft on Saturday, March 16, 1pm (Eastern time, post daylight saving). If this is an absolute no-go for anyone, please let me know and we'll try our best to flex. First option flex would be the following day. The time is not concrete; if the West Coast guys need something a little later, post up and we'll go to 2pm or 3pm.

All keeper deadline cuts have been completed. Thanks to those of you who have used the doodle poll to provide draft date preferences, as well as the other channels to list general availability and conflicts. There's no clear preference that has yet to emerge; please submit preferences and conflicts ASAP if you have them. The preliminary target is Sunday 2/24 early afternoon Eastern / late AM West Coast.

Nights and weekends work best for me for drafting. It would be hard for me to do one on March 2nd and 3rd or March 31st but pretty open otherwise.

Just a heads up, I work nights. The easiest for me would be a late morning/early afternoon draft on a weekend, but I know I might be in the minority. With enough of an advanced notice, I can make a night draft work if I have to.

Here's the link to the Doodle poll mentioned below: (https://doodle.com/poll/hzy2tv6yr2cyrm2g). The idea is to get a handle on preferences; if you have a conflict that affects your availability to draft, let me know via email/inbox message or post up on the message board.

Everyone please welcome Eric, the proud new owner of what is now Nom nom nom. He'll have his round of penalty free cuts in over the next couple days and we'll get on with the annual auction draft. Keep an eye on your inbox (for the email address associated with your ottoneu account) for a Doodle poll invitation, which I'll also make available on the league message board via url.

Please welcome Mike, the new owner of what are now the Mashers, to Firehouse Roto. Do reach out to me or the other owners as you see fit via email, the inbox system, or the message board. Good luck and please proceed with your penalty free cut downs. We'll get to scheduling the auction once Open Team 1 is claimed.

Oh, and please do change the names on your teams new guys. While I have marked the remaining open teams (1 & 6) as abandoned and thus they are the only ones that can actually be claimed freely, I'm also recruiting by linking to our homepage and noting that squads marked "Open Team X" are available. If you have any questions, all of the message board, private inbox, and email are acceptable ways to contact.

Thanks to Russell's active recruiting efforts, we have two new owners for the open teams. Please welcome Tony (Open Team 5) and Justin (Open Team 3). Feel free to make introductions and proceed with your round of penalty free cuts. We'll continue to to work on filling the two remaining squads and then get on with scheduling the spring auction draft.

For those inclined as myself, enjoy the Super Bowl. We'll work to fill the vacancies with competent, engaged, ethical players in the coming weeks. Regarding the date/time of the auction, please feel free to begin posting up now if you have a preference or any considerations you'd like to have taken into account.

Now that that's taken care of, if any of you have any questions please feel free to ask here or via messages/email/etc. I'm happy to detail as best I can. Obviously there is no publicly available log of who owned specific teams in given seasons, but for the curious Gayle did own the team that is now JC's 100% O-Contact Rate in 2016. He actively colluded with the team that is now Cromulent Ballplayers, which was then owned by a guy named Bill with the handle sdfdranger.

I'm sorry Gayle, but this is all so terribly incoherent yet speaks volumes. I'm removing you from Firehouse Roto; please take it up with Niv if you'd like. If you try to rejoin I will remove you again. Good luck with your 14 other leagues; those should be enough to keep you plenty occupied.

Seems you won this league in15 17 &18, maybe you are looking to explain to all that you would have won in 16 also, after all "we should all know you win if no collusion happens!" You do have a terrific team, but thats why they play the game-players have down years or Snell wins the CY yOUNG OUT OF NOWHERE! s!HIT HAPPENS!
-
My name is Gayle Thomas--maybe you have me mixed up with someone else! I have NEVER been in collusion with you or anyone else!!!! Are nyou talking about a trade? If so all leagues can VETO trades! Back up your statement! I paid just like others! I am not Judge Cavanough prove your slander! I explained my absence from baseball the last two years take your slander to Ottoneu--if you do not I will!

I'm new to the league, but my interactions thus far lead me to back Chris up on this. If it's fairly clear to him that what he says happened happened, then maybe you should find another league.
-
Also, please introduce yourself by your real name (first name basis is fine). The name you have on your profile is unhelpful and it's my general opinion nonsense like handles only encourage the sort of antisocial lunatic behaviors common to online interaction. I say this with full knowledge of the rich adjacent tradition of sabermetric analysts publishing under names such as tangotiger and pizzacutter.

In a league with monetary stakes, anti-competitive behavior like collusion is an absolute deal breaker for me; I'm assuming the others here are of a same or similar mindset. If you're not, best to air this out now.

In this case, I'm inclined to lean toward a "fool me twice" attitude and boot you now; however, I'm interested in hearing what the other owners have to say about it. I can be onboard with the opportunity to take your money if the other owners want to take that chance. Just know that you'll be on a short leash and any hint of collusion with another owner will immediately forfeit your place in the league.

Well... that's certainly an interesting development. I think it's important you, and the other owners here, know that you've been in this league before. In 2016, you actively colluded with another owner to help him win the championship. You both left the league afterwards. Most of the owners who were in the league at that time are no longer here. Given that, I believe the current ownership should be apprised of this and have say as to whether they are comfortable with you in the league.
