Can I get Bleday added to my active roster please
-
Thanks for the heads up - that is definitely my biggest blind spot during the season. I will take a look at it tonight and make adjustments as needed.
-
Looks like the 5-milb rosters need to be updated. There have been a few call ups that have not been noted. Specifically, Nolan Jones, Max Meyer and JJ Bleday. There may be others, but those are three that I noticed
-
I'd still like to make a trade. Buying or selling on my end. Make an offer.
-
Cole, Goldschmidt and Hoskins are available — plus many more.
-
I'm selling too. First to make a reasonable offer for Correa gets his production for the rest of the season.
And I'll consider offers on any other player.
-
I’d rather have an $80 loan on Opening Day. Haha.
-
Happy Father’s Day to all who celebrate!
I also wanted to note that there is incentive for 2nd place finishes with $8 in Arb coupons. So if y’all are scared of catching some wild fighting Turkeys, there’s still something to fight for with the most Arb coupons available
-
On the flip side for me: If you are out-out and have expensive star players, take a look at my roster. I probably need two great hitters and another great pitcher to attempt to close this gap and make this a competitive race. I’m definitely willing to try if someone wants to deal.
-
That might be the best compliment- disagree with me, but still respect me/think I do a good job! Thank you!
-
All my high-priced players are available, for anyone who wants to take in Richfield. (Also, I think Richfield is a very good commissioner, even if I consistently disagree with him.)
-
I mean we can just vote against these lopsided trades as long as there’s majority.
Turk does a great job here as commish, and yea he’ll probably win again but with all the call ups it’ll be other teams with the studs soon enough
-
Just my two cents.
-
They’ll show up in FA search, but it’ll be highlighted in red that they are restricted.
And we’re only stashing 60 prospects at most, so there’s still plenty of options to get some pop up/helium prospects.
-
Yes, they are restricted. But they still pop up in FA searches, correct? So you click on a guy and then have to see if he’s responded. Also, I’d rather have a lower-tiered team have the chance to acquire a $6 prospect than give that player away for free to a top-tier team.
-
However a $6 top prospect is much less valuable than one that doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t count towards your 40 man roster.
We also have rules set up to help those teams on the bottom to get better prospect picks.
The Google doc is updated, the players are on restricted list. I honestly love this feature, but can put it up for vote at end of season.
-
It’s hardly a perfect fix, but it’s something that opens up the player pool and would help out lower-positioned teams.

I think we need to eliminate MiLB-5. I think it is a disservice to lower-ranked teams and makes it more difficult for them to acquire low-cost, potential stars in the middle of a season. It’s also a pain to figure out who has which player. Richfield does a great job keeping up with it, but I think it is confusing (and darn difficult when you’re searching the waiver wire). Perhaps everyone can keep one of their MiLB-5 for $1, but all other players go back to free-agency.
-
I’ll say this - I’m obviously not changing rules mid-season, but am open to discussing in off-season, but no rule will be added/changed unless 7 managers approve it.
I don’t want to lose any managers because of this, but I am playing within the confines of the Ottoneu rules, with no collusion at all.
-
I’ll chime in again.
I’m quite opposed to any salary cap as stated earlier in the season. Doesn’t seem to help much, and in fact hurts the selling teams.
But I’ve always stated I’m open to ideas that the majority of league has agreed on. However with over 1000 Ottoneu leagues, playing within the rules that Niv set up seems to be working for most leagues. Ive tried changing the rules before and it a) doesn’t work as well and b) adds more work for me for not a good reason
-
But if the will of the league is to let these type of transactions happen, I should find another place to spend my time. I just need to know at some point as it is not what I want in a league.

Adding Harper, which has 488 points which is highest on his team without having to cover his salary did not hurt his chances. He probably was going to win anyway. I just do not want it completely locked down in April. Wasted season.

I agree that Richfield is really running up the score this year, but disagree as to why. He’s built a roster with a ton of surplus - lots of salaries well below market. Sure it’s great to get a Harper with a big loan, but more important are the $13 Yordans, $19 Burnes, $38 Acunas. etc., etc., etc. To focus on one or two trades this year doesn’t accurately explain the success built on the longer term process he’s executed. I just think he’s been outplaying us for the most part.
-
My fear with the large amount of salary traded before the first week was over has come true. It appears that this week the 2nd place and the 4th place teams have thrown up the white flag before June was over. If we do not address this moving forward, I am out. Too bad as I have worked for two prior years to build a pretty good team. But, it feels like a waste as any team can just pile in for a one year play and toss out years of building.

If anyone wants players in an attempt to take down Richfield, I'm open for offers. All my higher-priced players are available.

Hello and welcome.
-
Welcome Gator
-
Welcome Gator!
-
Welcome Dave!
-
Welcome to the league, Dave.
-
Thanks, Commish. Happy to be aboard. I'll be the Seminole Stingrays (named after my grandson's little league travel team) going forward. I'll try and get the trade block updated soon
-
Everyone welcome GatorDave who is taking over the (previously named) Fairhaven Bulldogs.
-
Appreciate the heads up.
League, let me know if you have any referrals. I’ll also be posting on the Slack board as well, but referrals are nice
-
Hey all, unfortunately I’m going to have to bail on my team. Suddenly life got very busy and I don’t have time to devote to remaining competitive. I will abandon my team so a new owner can take over. Best of luck to all!
-
Anyone want to trade?
-
Matthew Liberatore was called up. Please place him in my roster.
-
Nolan Gorman added to Funky Cold Molina. At this time no further action needed as his team is still legal.
-
Gerrit Cole is available. I'm looking for a good outfielder.

Recirculate the MILB rosters when you get a chance please.
-
Basically boils down to the inability of reading an organization's mind on their intent and other than the Doubleheader example, players have to remain on MLB teams (in real life) for a certain amount of time before being demoted.
-
The only exception I've made in the past was 1) September callups (which don't really exist anymore due to limited roster expansion) and 2) for extra man on double-headers.
All other instances there is a mandatory promotion. It's hard to draw a line of when it's temporary or when it's not, and that can change. If someone gets called up to spell an injured player for 10 days, remains hot, team could keep him up.
-
Quick question re: mandatory promotions. Fewer guys called up to the bigs are there permanently these days than in the past. What are the guidelines for promoted players if they return to the minors because because they were only called up for a cup of coffee to fill in for an injury, a spot start, etc. or if they struggle? Guys like Jose Miranda, Josh Lowe and Bryson Stott come to mind. Yes, Stott is back up, but only due to the Gregorious injury.
-
Alek Thomas has been added to Funky Molina's team. Please make necessary cuts when possible to get team legal.
-
I'm looking to move an OF for a RP
Guys I'd consider moving
Santander
Larnach
Thomas
-
I voted against the Harper trade. It was just too much money moving.
This one is 12 bucks. I’m rebuilding and need future arms to do that
-
That's great and very anecdotal information, Bryce. I didn't have a moment to chime in last time kind of issue came up, so I wanted to express my thinking this time around. I'll just see how it all plays out over the course of the rest of the season.
-
I kid you not, this is verbatim what an owner wrote to me when we put up a vote to keep the $475 cap, or remove it (2 people voted to keep it)
"I vote to remove the $475 rule. This will allow teams that are struggling to hopefully trade their overpriced players midseason for hopefully some future value. The $475 rule was a neat idea, but I think it had more consequences than benefits overall."
