-
This is the error message: "One or more of your bids were invalid."

Hey Commish, system is not letting me alter my bids on auctions I started.

I am getting the same problem. I don't know what to do here. I'll e-mail Niv.
-
Hicks, there is a problem with the auction bidding. I don't want to make a bid on all of the players, yet I keep getting this error that says, "One or more of your bids was invalid."
-
If anyone is truly upset I'll take puig back at $32.... Right sector 7? Lol. I feel like I remember reading something about in a tie for vote off the player voted for by the lowest ranking team is the one chosen
-
There was a tie between Kershaw and Puig, and the system recognized Puig as the RFA and did nothing with Kershaw. I actually liked the Vote Off system because it shook things up a little bit and raised the salaries of quality players either to their current market value or higher. The allocation system at the very most will only raise a team's payroll by $33. Big deal. Put 12 quality RFAs in the draft. Don't scrap the Vote Off system just because of one glitch.
-
If anyone has a problem with it, let me know. I am going off of memory and what people are telling me. But I don't remember seeing Kershaw available prior to the draft. So that tells me he wasn't LGLH's RFA.
-
I believe there was a glitch in the system on Kershaw. I believe he received the same number of vote offs as Puig, but Puig was declared the RFA. As you all know, Kershaw wasn't available at the draft and then myteriously became available as a FA after the draft. I will put Kershaw back on LGLH's team for the price of $52. I recommend that change the arbitration system to an allocation next year because I looked at the rules and there is nothing about if there is a tie on vote offs.
-
Thought it was weird that he was available. Well, count me out then for the money unless you guys can decide on something.

HICKS, that's not even fucking funny!
-
Not on the book unfortunately. I suppose I could host a meet and greet prior to the game at my place as well to save some dough. I live like a mile or so from the stadium and several bars within walking distance have shuttles that will take you to and from the game.
-
Don't let Lets Go Bucs fool you. He is not living in Pittsburg. He is somewhere in Libya http://news.sky.com/story/1435642/first-photo-of-jihadi-john-as-adult-revealed

23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds until the auction draft ...

I rarely go on Facebook, but you can find me at ---> https://www.facebook.com/david.wallis.182

at the very least, are any of you guys on Facebook? If you're into that sort of thing, you can find me at https://www.facebook.com/michael.d.berns
-
It doesn't really matter. All I know is you all are lawyers or law school students and have a lot more money than I do.
-
That hurts my feelings.... ;) Hey if you all want to fly in just for a baseball game then more power to ya. I just know if I'm flying to Pittsburgh, etc. itd be to meet the league as much or more as watching the game....
-
All inclusive sounds good to me. Meet and greet would be all right, but I'll mainly be there to enjoy watching the Cardinals lose.
-
I really like the idea of doing an all inclusive type thing though bc those areas are better for getting up and being able to hang out and converse with each other. Plus those areas usually open up 2 hours prior to the game so lots of time to take advantage of the all inclusive, and again actually hang out - presumably the main purpose of this meet and greet
-
Well I would suggest meeting at a bar/restaurant prior to the game if not doing an all inclusive type deal - maybe even Ball Park Village (though that place aint cheap); depending on where that is it may or may not be easy to grab a big gulp prior to getting on a shuttle - basically places in Soulard or on Broadway south of Staduim will have that option.
-
I'm afraid I might be guilty of both....
-
Neither. I'm calling you smart because I wouldn't pay ballpark prices for anything. So, I guess this means, we'll all met at a gas station and fill up our cups before we go to the game?
-
LGB are you calling us cheap or drunks? I'd only take offense to the former haha.
-
LEVY - one step ahead of you. the Buccos are in STL, the weekend of May 1-3, August 11-13 which is Tuesday-Thursday and the weekend of September 4-6, which I think is Labor Day weekend. So, September is the best bet for me. Unless you STL people want to come out to Pittsburgh for a game. But, we don't have many convenience stores with 44 oz plastic cups and liquor stores by PNC Park, so I seriously doubt that's going to happen.
-
I think we've been through this before but would anyone who is interested in this St. Louis get together who is not a Cardinals fan state your favorite team? That way we could try to plan a "rivalry" weekend. LGB - I've already got you down for the Pirates lol
-
Actually, you are exactly right Medina, the will let you being in outside beverages as long as it isn't clearly booze. I always forget that - Good call!
-
The move is to hit a gas station and load up a 44oz. cup with your favorite mixer, drink half, then fill the rest of with liquor. Then try to make it last as long as possible.
-
They seem to have tightened up security lately to make that harder to do but still not impossible. Guys are only subject to random inspection and metal detector (so no flask! - just use plastic...)
-
They must not have very tight security in St. Louis. In Pittsburgh, its almost like going through the airport. You have to put your keys and change into a container and walk through a metal detector and random people get screened.
-
Quick question for the St. Louis folks, am I the only one that sneaks booze in every game?
-
Expanding further on that - Ball Park Village could also be in play and/or I'd also be up for going to 2-3 games in a weekend - may be more worth it for the out of towners - especially if its the Pirates or one of you west coasters teams.
-
Believe me I hear ya LGB... I love the Cards game idea and would be all for splurging on an all inclusive area or box type set up so we could all mingle
-
Coca Cola Scoreboard Patio?
-
CAN'T WAIT! Also, we should definitely schedule a St. Louis meetup this summer for a Cardinals game.

I don't know about everybody else, but I'm kinda tired about talking about money and LeagueSafe. I'm really pumped up for the draft on Saturday and for the baseball season to start!
-
Anyone see this new auction generator on fangraphs? Anyone used it? Any thoughts?
-
They already have been. They are just restricted free agents
-
random question: when do our voted off players get released into the free agent pool?
-
when you are in town, bring that junk to me bucs, i have been taking BP.

I don't plan on going anywhere, so if only 7 people pay, then the way I look at it is 5 people are missing out. But, that's all right. Most people who want to win money at fantasy sports are on FanDuel or DraftKings anyways, and I'd rather waste my money at the casino playing BlackJack than going to those sites. My one purpose in this league is to beat the Commish just like I struck him out all of the time when we were playing baseball in his backyard when we were kids.
-
Not trying to be a debbie downer btw. I think 7 paid last year and I'd expect that many or more this year so with the increased buy in should still be a decent pool.
-
just to reiterate, I'll be paying the $50 to leaguesafe, so go ahead and count me in on that. If it only works out that 4-5 of us pay that, I'm fine with then working out a payout structure from there. As for the other stuff, I'd prefer that we actually keep the same dudes every season so there's not a constant revolving door, so I'm all for doing whatever we need to do to keep that from happening. I also don't know of a good solution, so I'll hang up and listen...
-
At this point though I plan on sending out leaguesafe invites the morning of the draft - aka everyone will be one the draft so hopefully... 1) everyone should know about it right then and there even if they havent been following this message board 2) everyone can be hassled to pay on the draft message board and 3) everyone has blocked off that time so they can take two extra minutes and get it over with and pay that day.
