Reminder: auction tie-priority resets to system default for any auctions that END after the first pitch of the new season.
-
And last year the system glitched and multiple people (not me) felt like they didn't have a chance to bid on Ichiro.
-
Thought $2 was too much for Ichiro last year; think $1 is too much for him this year.

Pillar of Teeth's trading block has been updated!
-
oops - sent (not send)
-
When Marcum got picked up via waiver claim, I posted a message that it was a steal. Someone send me a message about that comment - can't remember who, or what it said... just wanted to apologize for not responding!
-
Those of the Void Will Re-Enter's trading block has been updated!
-
Wow! That blows....
-
Well shoot.
-
Nevermind.
-
What happened?
-
Rushing cause at work but I think that was a necessary move.
-
Looks like 47 hours. First non work day since February 19th tomorrow, gonna try and sleep absurdly late. If there're ties to redo from the 5am set they'll be later in the day.
-
Weird thing I just thought of: what happens with the auctions and daylight savings? Do the 48-hour auctions become 47 hours? Moreover, there's no such thing as 02:00-03:00 ET tonight... we'll see, I guess.
-
Yeah, I rephrased the question more generally and haven't gotten a response. @ottoneu or leagues@ottoneu.com if you want to pursue it, I'm at work.
-
Only for 4? What if you have 3? 2? 1? 0?
-
Niv said on twitter that if you only have 4 RPs you will accumulate stats. I haven't gotten a response about other positions.
-
Pillar of Teeth's trading block has been updated!
-
Asked on twitter.
-
The reason I mention this again is that the same rule is mentioned on line one of the rules, not only in the 'auction' section: Each team should maintain at all times a roster of 23 major-league players that can fill out a starting lineup.
-
Better safe than sorry, is all I'm saying.
-
Can we get a ruling from Niv? It clearly states that the auction is not over until everyone can fill out their starting roster. It would be a shame if that rule somehow ends up withholding stats from those who do not have a 'legal' roster....
-
Yeah, as you pointed out, I'm in as tight a situation as anyone. I guess it makes sense to need to fill out the hitters, but pitchers already have the inning cap.
-
Ok, we'll see. Didn't mean to discuss your roster out loud; just wanted to clear up the rule. So we're saying no league-enforced mandate, just beware of stats not accruing at your own risk? Sounds ok to me.
-
I'm counting Boxberger, Pomeranz and Bauer as likely to start the year in the majors. Pomeranz in particular would surprise me if he didn't.
-
Carpenter, Sale, H.Alvarez, B.Anderson (DL, still counting), Jansen, Lynn, Vizcaino = 7/10. Everyone else is in minors probably, right?
-
I don't think it's a matter of enforcement, I'm worried if you don't have a player in every spot (only 1 in C necessary) you won't accrue stats. Not sure how you get I need 3 P though.
-
Or if someone can still get to 1250 IP, must they always have 5 major league RP on their roster?
-
Looks like Blood has more major leaguers than Pillar, actually. ;) On that note, how strictly are we enforcing the "must be able to fill out a full roster" rule? It looks to me like Pillar needs a 2B, MI, OF, UTIL, and 3 P and only has 5 spots left.
-
Good catch Jamie, that was dumb of me. Void, you're right, he's not bad off, but he needs 1-2 Cs, an OF, and 3 RPs.
-
The tiebreaker is fine and all, but O'Flaherty should cost Dirt Dogs $3, not $1, right?
-
Yea, friend o mine. I will bug him. He DOES have a mostly full roster, amazingly.
-
Blood was somebody's friend, right? Can you give him a kick in the pants? He hasn't bid on a single auction yet, and he has 18 players.
-
what a steal on marcum!
-
Be working again
-
Filter should
-
Ditto on what Void said: the Free Agent filter doesn't seem to be working. Incredibly frustrating.

No. Dirt Dogs nominated O'Flaherty and no one else that day. And standings aren't used right now, ties are coin flips.
-
Pillar of Teeth - but Dirt Dogs finished ahead of me last season - isn't that supposed to be tie breaker for O"Flaherty?
-
Dirt Dogs becomes the first person to benefit from retaining tie priority. Sorry Sabr.
-
Sorry Fish, I hope you weren't too excited to get Veras. As long as you only nominate one person per day you're going to be fine, and the worst thing that can happen if you nominate more is that you lose them on ties.
-
I know you've explained it well and it's my fault, but I have absolutely no idea what's going on re: tiebreaker rules. Will need to re-read.
-
Had to move Veras: Fish nominated Veras and Beckham in same day, Steve didn't lose tie priority for that day.
-
Has anyone noticed the 'sortable stats' and 'free agents' links are showing ALL players rather than just free agents? (obviously when free agents is selected, that is) grrr.
-
We're through the first batch of auctions and there were a ton of ties, but I haven't had to manually enforce anything once. The times where the nominator had lost tie priority and tied, the player went to the other owner anyways.
-
Just to be clear, if you started an auction, you can now start another with no penalties. And the penalties incurred yesterday don't carry over in any way. I think you all get it though.
-
Phew, I was worried something got lost in translation. Hopefully it's not a strategy everyone adopts, or my attempt to stagger auctions will have been entirely in vain.
-
I know it's a weird strategy, but yes.
-
Steve, what are you doing? Are you fine with losing ties on all of these players?
-
Yup!
