  • Another fun fact I read:

    This sounded unbelievable so I had to check. If you increase Rafaela's pulled fly balls by 17.4%, and then multiply that by the average HR/FB rate for pulled fly balls, you add 8 HRs to his stats and his statline becomes almost identical to PCA.

  • I've long thought that the scoring rules for inherited runners should be changed to split the "credit" between the one who put them on base and the one who allowed them to score - most simply, say, a runner on 2nd is split half and half, a runner on third goes 3/4s to the initial pitcher and so on. Then, watch those relief pitcher ERAs rise...

  • Ugh tough break for Canning, having 2 outs, 2 on, and a 3-ball count when the rain delay hit. Instead of having the chance to get out of it himself, he was done and charged with all 3 runs the reliever allowed in. :(
