He's not on my bench, but Cody Bellinger seems the best fit for a post-Numenor Sauron playing in MLB right now.

Or Gollum? He's all about that ring.

Per Fangraphs I've rarely seen this kind of Tolkien geek/baseball geek kind of crossover.
"I’m crossing my fingers, because Nomar Mazara was signed to a minor league contract and is lurking in the wings, like a replacement-level Sauron after the fall of Númenor."
These are my people.
Anybody got a replacement level Sauron on their trade block?
-
right on @Saint! Rizzo might just have to stay with the @Cutch... I'm talking myself into keeping him haha
-
I don't think Rizzo is gonna get those letters of transit, Cutch...

well Franco is $29 on your squad @Roar and hit 6 bombs :-) …but he is under 30 years of age!
-
I’m shocked — shocked! — to find no interest in an overpriced, over-30 Anthony Rizzo in this establishment.

yes sir @badoo… crickets… I have proposed trades and they sit there… Rizzo can be had pretty cheap 32 bombs - re-upped w/ Yankees… I mean you can pencil him in for 30+ homers for the next two years with that porch!
-
This the quietest offseason I have seen in this league.
-
Agreed! 24 hours!
-
Exactamundo

Agreed. And it's not like this league has ever vetoed a trade in any case.

I vote no. 24hrs is enough. If you're not paying attention that's on you.
-
Happy Holidays, we have a trade! (Also, should I set the trade review window to 48 hours during the offseason? Doesn't seem like people need to check every day)
-
I have an opening in my FanTrax Dynasty league if anyone is interested, holla - would love to get a team from here there!
-
u need to hire a capologist!
-
Oops, or $709 even. I was thinking of the number I wrote down before doing the final Inkosi adjustments.
-
I checked with my team financial advisors, and they just told me I can't carry a $706 payroll into 2023. WTF?
-
…not a lot of hot stove in hammers?! too much Turkey?!
-
Rizzo, Patrick Wisdom and Graterol are all available if interested DM me...
-
looking to move Rizzo and his 32 homers who resigned with the Yankees for 2 years... such a great landing spot for him to reproduce those numbers
-
Ok! I received no messages asking to adjust any arb numbers, so I think I can say all salaries are final from here to the keeper deadline. Keep an eye on those trade blocks, and do your offseason work whenever you see fit!
-
Yep, watching my messages today to see if anyone has adjustments based on the late Inkosi arb dollars. (Just send me, e.g. "take $1 off Soto and put it on Valdez" or whatever. Don't remove $ from a player you didn't allocate to, obvs). If I see any, I'll do those after 6 pm EST.
-
ok, thanks Saint.
-
I don't believe officially, quite yet, Cutch. The Commish is planning to finalize any arbitration changes Monday.

...so I take it that all is resolved?

Out of Town? Like off Planet?

Whatever changes anyone wants to make, I'll put in between 6 and 8 pm EST on Monday, then I'm going out of town for 5 days but trading season will be open!

Oops it cut off. Here's the three $1 adds:
Franco +1
Correa +1
Pasquantino +1
-
Alright, time is nigh; I'm going to put in Inkosi's adjustments which he sent to me on the 15th, and Risk Takers asked me some questions but didn't respond about arb allocations all week, so I think it's too late. Below are Inkosi's adds, and I'll give everyone else a business day - let's say by 6 pm ET on Monday - if you want to make any changes to yours.
Betts +3
Soto +3
Alonso +3
Jimenez +3
Ramirez +3
Harper +2
Lowe +2
Torkelson +3
Franco
-
Commish, any ETA on when whatever post-arb arb allocations came in to you from 1-2 teams are going to be posted?

I think I will stick with that plan, maybe even extend it to 48 hours for the rest of the league to change their allocations if they wish. Is it an annoyance to do by hand, and delay the beginning of the trade season? Sure. But also it's only a day or two and I could have done a better job checking in more than 12 hours before the deadline. We do appreciate having 12 active owners!
-
Can't promise the prices will be updated tonight. Can promise to give a 24-hour window once they are for others to make adjustments. If I were y'all, I'd hold off on trades until after that's settled.
-
Ok huh, Risk Takers is here to do a trade but not to do arb or read my messages? DM me by midnight if you want to do arb, otherwise I think it's fair to say too late.
-
Ok, thanks for the quick feedback here and privately. I propose: I'll share and put in Mateo's arb adds by the end of the day - as well as if Risk Takers check in - and then the rest of you who did do yours will have 24+ hours (by end of Wednesday) to make any adjustments to yours if you wish. Just send me a message if you do, e.g. "remove $1 I allocated to player A and put it on player B." I won't be making any changes to mine, but you can if you want, if Inkosi's being hidden affecte
-
I do believe this is the first year that I can recall that the deadline was on 11/14 instead of 11/15, for whatever reason.

I mean, I literally put a message below on Oct 7 that said arbitration was Oct 15 - Nov 15 because that's when I thought it was. If it got moved from the 15th to 14th some year, I'm not sure why

I remember this kid in grade school. Everyday the bell rang and just as everyone was seated he would burst into the doorway momentarily frozen but breathing heavily and with the same surprised and wide-eyed look, then he'd mad dash it for his seat next to the teacher's desk. He was a sweaty, disheveled child, but a lovable rascal adored by the teacher and his classmates. No one would say a word and we would start our day with a knowing smile. As Yogi said "It's like deja vu all over again.

Entirely my fault, Gang, and I should've known better. I've sent my arb over to Rime. Had it in my head that it was Tuesday the 15th of a deadline and have had an incredibly busy few weeks at work while I assist in the transition of ownership in the business I've been managing the past couple years. That said, it's my bad and I'm happy to accept any penalty. Also, my apologies for the inconvenience overall. Cheers.
-
It being the same day, at least out here on the West Coast, I'm okay with giving Inkosi a chance to allocate.

Hey y'all, Inkosi messaged me that he messed up the time zones and didn't realize until too late. If he sends me his $25 allocations, anyone have a problem with me putting them in manually? Or if you think there should be a penalty like he only gets $20 or something. You can private message me if you don't want to call out publicly.
-
I messaged both of the managers who haven't done arbitration six hours ago, and one of them said they would do it.
-
Hey all! Just realized arbitration ends TONIGHT, not tomorrow, and 5 teams including myself have not done their arb allocations. Let's get on it!
-
Ah, spoke too soon
-
Well hm. I guess only Alex Verdugo is getting a price increase this offseason? Fine by me...
-
My apologies Cutch. My M's were not very nice to your boy Alec.
