Don't forget to come check in for Arbitration, Oct. 15 - Nov. 15

Thanks! And a shoutout to my MVP (surely he was worth far more than 2 SPAR - standings points over replacement), Ohtani-san.
-
Great season, gang! Kudos on the huge win, Rime.
-
Shout outs to Aaron Judge, Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, who were all tremendous in their own ways this season.

Congrats again, Rime - your season was a masterpiece of resource exploitation, from draft day thru your trades.

Congrats Rime and Saint! it was fun watching you two battle down the stretch!!!! Congrats Rime on lifting the trophy this year.
-
During the season, I traded for: Gerrit Cole, Andrew Kittredge, Michael Brantley, Jake Cronenworth, Scott Barlow, Trea Turner, Seiya Suzuki, Kris Bryant, Jacob DeGrom, Christian Yelich, Sandy Alcantara, Mookie Betts, Joc Pederson, Francisco Lindor, Ty France, and Willson Contreras. Wouldn’t have been possible without a lot of them. (NOT YOU Kris)

What an amazing season, thanks all *especially* St. Nebula, demolishing the previous best 2nd-place season with 89 points. Wow!

True, I knew I was vulnerable in SLG and K (never expected to beat you there, just had to make sure to hold off 3rd), but would still lead if I lost the point in both. Just not letting my guys see the champagne in the clubhouse until they come off the field tomorrow.

C'mon, Commish, you know you are home free at this point...and much congratulations on being so. Well played!

Lead has shrunk from 6 to 2 points since 9/30. Any more wiggle room? (sweating)
-
Meaning, any 48-hour auctions to be completed for this season must be started in the next 1 hour, 20 minutes from this message.
-
Just looked up again Rule V.h. "Transactions can be requested from the day of the annual draft until the next-to-last day of the regular season. All auctions must be completed prior to midnight of the last day of games of the season. For example, if the last game of the season is on a Sunday , all auctions must be started by midnight Eastern Time on Friday night"
-
Looking at things that worked out, Verlander being projected for a 1.65 HR/9 and coming through with 170 strong innings of 0.64 instead -- that's gotta be one of the lesser-known league-winner stats
-
Should've benched your relievers, Commish...but your choices this year all seem to be working out quite well indeed.

Although, if I'd had a couple relievers pitch yesterday, he nearly blew up my "Soft IP Cap" plan and I wouldn't have gotten today's DeGrom, Kershaw, Alcantara, and Cobb starts! It was a risk.
-
I’m starting to think this Ohtani guy is pretty good
-
I do think, though, that The Rime of Jamie Moyer is more of a lock than that particular former team of Jamie Moyer's...

It's just the 2 decades since last being in the playoffs that has M's fans like Baddoo feeling not completely confident...

Home vs. Rangers, A's, Tigers, you'd think they can take care of business. But here come the O's...
-
I'll posit you have a better chance than the Mariners.
-
Coming up on just one week left in the season. Can I hold on to the lead? Can I just hoooooollllllddd onnnnnn?
-
Excellent point, St. N. I didn't realize just how few guys he struck out. Then I looked at his contemporaries and it's shocking, actually. Here’s some career K/9 rates for a random sampling of HOF starting pitchers: Jim Palmer: 5.04; Bob Gibson: 7.22, Gaylord Perry (with 100 career Fangraphs WAR): 5.94, Steve Carlton: 7.13, Fergie Jenkins: 6.38. True, many of them pitched into their 40s but they all threw a billion innings every season during their peak.

Palmer wouldn't help you much in this league, Roar - very low K/9 rates for such a great pitcher, even for his day.

As I was saying, I have a lot of players. But not necessarily good players. For instance, I have 4 — 4! — Orioles pitchers but none of them are named Grayson Rodriguez or Jim Palmer.

what's the record for largest roster? I've reached 50, with 10 on the 60-day IL.

I mean, if I keep starting Cole, a few more HR blowups like yesterday could put me at risk of dropping in that category. Think I at least lost any hope of catching you there or in K's when you make up the IP gap.
-
That being the case, I think SNGS are going to need all the help we can get...

Happy to help Trouty! Feels like we are destined for a 46-46 pitching tie, so it's going to come down to those hitting categories for you and me.
-
Well, like Joey Votto last year, Trout fell one homer game short of 8 straight. Thanks for inspiring Trout, Commish!

Mike Trout after 3 at-bats tonight: 5000 career ABs & 1000 combined BB+HBP, .415 OBP + .585 SLG = 1.000 OPS

If anyone likes football and weirdness, I just sent y'all an email about a league I run. Rather than explain it all a third time, here's the beast of a rules and explanation doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kKYl17UUc9VzyyQaEvpk0ZE5Rr4depNXI3JSxJuB64I/edit

Trade deadline tonight, deals must be accepted by 11:59 pm EASTERN (I've messed up the time before). I guess last call on my Beer, A.Martin, maybe Gonsolin with his mysterious injury.
-
I just traded for Willson C., and the second /20 doesn't really mean anything in this league, does it? I suppose it may boost the runs total a little. And dang yeah, what's happened to Hader?
-
...any one want Josh Hadar - I mean, he is pitching so well right now. ;)
-
Realmuto has a shot of 20/20… and as I debate his fixture in the Cutch lineup for next year, if you would like him down the stretch or for your number 1 catcher for next year, lemme know or send an offer to get the party started!
-
Wow, a fine curtain call for Mr. Paredes
-
I doo like his name
-
Huh, wow. Lars was noot on my radar at all.

Come on, Baddoo, just admit it - that was some kind of Scandinavian solidarity gesture, right?

wow guys..my $13 bid on Lars was kinda meant as a joke. Is his BB rate that sexy?

Just reading that title was enough for me to bid

Guess I'm not the only one who read that "best reliever you've never heard of" piece.

… so. many. auctions. let’s go!!! Boom!!!

I noticed, Christian. At least you've been fine for OBP. https://twitter.com/ChristianYelich/status/1559954059703959552?s=20&t=stAQb27Egc4ji6fnFimH9g

Maybe more interestingly, we've never had a second-place team above 83 points before.
-
Yup (Inkosi's was the original commish, Byron / Pillar of Teeth). You can click the years at the top of the Standings page to see final standings from any previous season. (And then change the date in the URL to go to any other date).
-
93 by Rime's 2013 squad as well as the 2015 squad of whomever owned the Inkosi-kaas franchise at that time.

the first place team has now crossed the 90 point threshold. What is the league record for points? (Apologies if this is easily accessible.)
