Was Dylan Bundy's -68.2 points yesterday an Ottoneu record? It had almost as much negative value as Paxton's 71.6 positive value no-hitter yesterday. I think Not a Hobbit deserves some sort of reward for having to suffer through that outing by Bundy? He would probably want a penalty free cut to dump Bundy. :)

Matt Harvey is available for the Dodgers.
-
Not looking good for Kershaw.
-
What do you think the Vegas odds would be that Kershaw has a UCL tear? He is seeing Dr. El-Attrache, the TJ specialist. Could be nothing, but teams constantly lie and slow-walk news of pitcher injuries, so I don't trust a word the Dodgers say until Kershaw is back on the mound.

I wish HR weren't such a big negative for pitchers. Happ has only given up 1 hit through 3 innings, but that 1 hit was a homer so he is only at 6 points.
-
Yes I definitely should have started Teheran... Especially since he had just shut them down about a week ago. That was definitely a mistake, but hindsight is 20/20 I guess.
-
I'm not an expert at this, so this is just my $.02 - if you have a starter on your roster that you don't trust to play against the Mets, you should cut him. Mets' offense is a perfect example of mediocre; they have outscored the (11-win) Padres by only 3 runs so far, and they have been outscored by the Braves by 43 runs in only 30 games.
-
Yeah, nice work keeping that P/IP ratio low by leaving Teheran's 52 point outing on your bench yesterday. ;)
-
I think I'm going to set a record for difference between p/g and p/ip
-
Ryu who has been the one bright spot on my terrible pitching staff is now out until the all-star break.
-
He was. My SS kept getting hurt, so I threw a random $6 on Kike
-
Hah. Well yes, but there are pretty slim pickings in the MI on the waiver wire. Kike was definitely the prettiest pig in the pen.
-
You should be thrilled you dodged the bullet of paying $6 for Kike Hernandez.
-
I probably could have picked up Hernandez for $1 if the Seager injury news had not come out a few hours after I started the auction. So I reluctantly increased my bid to $6 and still lost the auction to the Tacos. :(

Jake Junis’ early season success was very confusing for me. It was only a matter of time that he would get shelled.
-
Jake Junis today was the first time I've had a pitcher give up 5 HR in a game. Or if it has happened before, I've managed to forget about it.
-
Brings back memories of when I was in college and the M's were awful, I would occasionally head down to the Kingdome for Wed day games when tickets were something like $3. Having 1000 people or even far less was not uncommon. Sad to see it is that bad today for a game on a nice day in Seattle and considering Safeco would have to be a better place to watch a game than the dismal Kingdome.
-
Watching the White Sox/Mariners game on TV, it looks like there are only 1,000 people there.

Crimson Sox... I thought we all agreed I was the only team allowed to make awesome "rebuilding" trades!!! No? Kidding of course... I like your trade.

Kevin Gausman must hate me...

Looking forward to watching Buehler tonight, even though it will be a late one.

Dodgers are finally giving Walker Buehler a start, and Yanks finally called up Gleyber Torres. If their teams bring up Nick Senzel, Francisco Mejia, and the great Kyle Tucker, I might be able to field a reasonable lineup. I understand the service time issues (ensuring a 7th pre-free-agency season, and avoiding the "super 2 cutoff") but I want to see the best players in the majors. It would be nice to see these guys play.
-
No. Only bats with "USA Bat" logo.
-
wooden bats are not allowed?
-
But alloy and composite bats are so light, kids using wooden bats would never be able to compete. So $350 it is...
-
I don't disagree. But if they just mandated using actual wooden bats it would be so much cheaper. The cheaper thin-walled aluminum bats dent and the end caps fly off. To get a good alloy or composite bat that will stand up to daily use costs $350. If they want wooden bat performance, they could just use wooden bats.
-
I actually think it is a good rule for the long run. It sucks that parents have to lay out that money to replace the old ones, but I always thought it was absurd that they used aluminum bats at any level in baseball.
-
Anybody else notice the absurd rule change for little leagues this year? The new "USA Bat Standard" - apparently tones down bat performance to replicate wood bats. Every kid in the country needs new bats this spring. And decent bats cost about $350. I have had the pleasure of spending $700 this month for new bats that are designed to perform WORSE than the bats I spent $700 on last spring! All older bats even from 2017 are illegal now.
-
I also did a great job starting Duffy and not starting Teheran. My pitching has been so bad it's not even funny.
-
I did a great job managing today leaving Clevinger and Manaea out of the lineup.

What I meant to say is Baez is awful, and whoever owns him should trade him to me before he inevitably turns into a weak hitter again.
-
Baez is fantastic. I would not be surprised if he posts 7 to 8 P/G for the season, and I imagine the Cubs are considering giving him full time shortstop position b/c his glove is elite. I am kicking myself for not bidding on him.
-
Javier Baez is starting to reach his Fangraphs Points potential. There were two main factors that was holding his ppg down. His PA's per game were low because of defensive switch's and substitutions, and his approach. Now instead of batting eighth in front of the pitcher, he is batting second in front of Bryant and Rizzo.

I cut Ryan Zimmerman on April 17th. On April 18th he hit a triple and 2 HRs, for a total of 37.3 points in one game. Thanks for nothing Zimmerman.

I can't even start Gausman against Detroit apparently... anyone want him on your team for when he starts pitching well in the second half of the season?

Alleged blisters. Seems like the Angels do everything they can to put Ohtani in a position to succeed and now the blister excuse after 66 pitches after nine days since his previous start.

I hate west coast game times (10pm), but it was worth staying up for the sox-angels last night. Ohtani's blisters would worry me as an Angels fan. I have to wonder if they will take him off the mound for a few weeks and just use him at DH. Rich Hill was a mess with constant blisters when he kept trying to return before he was ready. Might be best to keep Ohtani's bat in the lineup for now.
