Enjoy what's happening because continuing at the current pace would result in a 140-22 season. Best prepare for some coming back to earth. But you're right that Dombrowski isn't to blame for mistakes like Sandoval which wasn't his blunder.
-
No I don't like a lot of the things Dombrowski has done, but at the end of the day I want to watch the Red Sox win and they have been. 2 straight first place finishes and now off to a 13-2 start. I am worried about the future, but for now I'm going to enjoy watching them win almost every day.

The team is still good, the farm system is a depleted disaster, financial condition is poor. He is running the Red Sox just like he did the Tigers.
-
Pretty short-sided Squirrels. Do you think Dombrowski has done a good job? Or did he , once again, inherit a good team, in good financial condition, with a great farm system?
-
"Dave Dombrowksi's destruction of the franchise" isn't looking to happen as they are now off to their best start in franchise history.
-
I would cut Rodgers, Acuna, Jimenez and Urias for starters.

It should be interesting to see who gets cut after all of these auctions are over.

Justin Wilson just got me a whole -37 points in 0.2 innings.
-
If the Sox lose Price, Dave Dumbrowski's destruction of the franchise would be complete. Price would definitely pick up his player option, and the Sox would get to pay him $31M/year for another 4 years. Meanwhile they get to keep paying Panda $18M/year, along with the money they are paying Allen Craig and Rusney Castillo to NOT play for them.
-
Does David Price have ulnar neuritis? That would put him out for the year.
-
As a Pirate fan, I assure you Felipe Vasquez is nowhere near as good as Felipe Rivero. You should trade him for whatever you can get... He is a bum. Also, if you are looking to get rid of Vasquez I will gladly help you out by taking him off your hands.
-
Yes, nice trade Philly. It definitely appears Rivero is done, so you timed that perfectly. BTW, once I looked up the players, I laughed at your "player to be named later" comment. :)

Looks like I traded Felipe Rivero for Felipe Vasquez. Seems to be working out OK so far. The player to be named later?

Dead Arm Syndrome... Not a good thing to hear for Jays fans. Jays should have traded him in the off season. Unless it affects his hitting, he can probably DH, which is just as good for Ottoneu but ot for MLB. I am relying on Donaldson in another league (where Winnetka is also going to beat me), so I share the pain.
-
He better be okay, I need him!
-
Donaldson didn't look right on Thursday, short-arming multiple throws from third base. However, the injury isn't considered serious. "We don't think it's a big deal," said Gibbons after the game. Utility man Yangervis Solarte could fill in at the hot corner if Donaldson needs a day off on Friday.
-
I did yoga, pool, beer, tacos. Had the game on by the pool.
-
Ian Happ started the season impressively. Winnetka, are you at the game? Looks like great baseball weather.
-
Also looks like someone should have taken me up on Holland yesterday, he appears to be signing with St. Louis which means he should be closing.
-
Real baseball starts in 30 minutes! I'm going to agree with Spa City on the prediction and say Sox beat the Cubs in the World Series.

I'll predict Red Sox over Cubs in the series. I think the Sox have a seriously great OF, and the infield looks great with Devers and a healthy Bogaerts. Cora will limit Sale and Price's innings to keep them fresh in the 2nd half and playoffs, unlike the knucklehead Farrell.
-
Exciting to have baseball back in action TODAY! It seemed like it would never get here. Wishing everyone a great baseball season. I will predict the Astros over the Nationals in the WS.
-
I’ll predict a Cubs Nats NLCS with the Cubs winning 4-0, with the Yankees beating the Twins 4-1 in the ALCS. For the world series I’ll take the Cubs 4-1 with Scwarber as the series MVP.
-
a much stronger season than what most experts predict.
-
I agree with Spa City except the Yankees have a few aces up their sleeve with such a deep farm system that would allow them to pick up a quality starter or two. I think they will win a tight division race with the Red Sox. I do think the Brewers and Angels will flop. I could see Minnesota winning the Central. I’m not that impressed with the Indians lineup and I’m not impressed with the depth of their pitching as I could see Carrasco have a disappointing year. I also see the Cardinal hav
-
Division winners seem obvious this year. For wild cards I'm betting NY and Minnesota in the AL, and NY and St. Louis in the NL. Anybody have predictions?
-
I predict the Angels and Brewers to be the most disappointing teams this year. After making so many headlines in the winter, those teams strike me as "meh". Ohtani looked bad all spring, and he probably tops out at 120 IP and probably less. Brewers took a team whose strength was its OF, and they added 2 OFers for some reason while ignoring the rotation.
-
Twins look very good. I would like them more if Polanco did not get suspended, but still I am betting on Twins to win a wild card. Love Rosario and Buxton in the OF.
-
The Twins could be a very dangerous team with a pretty solid rotation by the end of the year with Santana and potentially Pineda joining Berrios, Odorizzi and Lynn.

Yeah that's a good point. I'm still surprised a team like St. Louis or Arizona hasn't signed him.
-
I should have bid on Pineda. I have plenty of $ and he does not take up a roster spot while on the 60 day DL. Didn't want to jump on somebody else's bid, but that is a solid signing.
-
Very good point Spa City! Thanks!
-
The problem with Holland is that teams will forfeit draft picks if they sign him before the June rule 4 draft. Most likely scenario, in my view, is that Holland waits until then to sign. He is worth much more to teams after the rule 4 draft than he is before then.
-
Anybody interesting in taking Greg Holland in case he finds himself a closer role?

I think all of Boston is getting scared:
Boston Red Sox starting pitchers Drew Pomeranz and Eduardo Rodriguez will start the 2018 season on the disabled list,
-
Chris Sale just went down. Left hip contusion, hopefully nothing serious but I am scared!
-
Well, they do have the best announcers. And even if they are bad for quite a while, the Cubs' record for not winning for quite a while should stand
-
I never saw the Giants coming close to .500 even with them 100% healthy. For the last 1 1/2 years, the Giants have been the worst team in baseball. What have they done to improve? Besides Posey and Bumgarner who do they have that is an above average starter in the field or on the mound? On top of that, the Giants have one of the league's thinnest farm systems. The Giants are going to be real bad for quite awhile.
