Yikes, that is pretty horrible.
-
The Nimrods earned the dreaded Ice Cold Badge last night with -12.2 points from a 12 man lineup last night. That might be a record for ineptitude.
-
I can’t believe the Bucs held Vasquez. Their roster and farm systems are a mess, and Vasquez was by far the best RP at the deadline (signed long term for cheap, and Giles’ health in doubt). I would love to know what trades were offered. Pirates are a tough team to root for.
-
Nimrods, those are some pretty crazy point swings (avoided and unavoided) in one day!
-
Yesterday was one of those crazy frustrating Ottoneu days. One SP scores +32 points. Yeah! Another SP scores -32 points. Boo. One RP provides +12 points in 1 inning of work. Another RP takes back those 12 points in 2/3 of an inning. And Didi Gregorius scores 41 points (26% of his 32 game season total) while on my bench because he has not been hitting. The only highlight was I didn't start Domingo German and avoided -39 points!
-
If anybody is interested in Stanton and/or Kluber, they are on the market. I could include loans.
-
If anybody is interested in players on my trade block, I am looking to free up roster spots. I have some prospects that should interest rebuilding teams.
-
should go for $10, at least.

El Marciano

Somebody is watching their July 2 International signings. Jasson Dominguez did not stay in the free agent pool very long.
-
My bench is outscoring my UTIL position. The handful of guys I put on the bench each day are on average outscoring the player I hand select to man the UTIL position. I would be better off selecting the last starter randomly.
-
I just noticed that an owner voted "no" on the Team Name/Vegas Baby trade (wasn't me). I did think it was a very good trade for Team Name, but at least Vegas Baby received a very valuable keeper piece in Alonso and a moderately valuable piece in Giles.
-
Pitchers need to learn how to pitch more like Kershaw, Greinke and Kyle Hendricks. You don't need to throw a 97mph fastball and 90mph slider to be effective.
-
Thanks for the update. When I heard the news I expected the worst. MLB needs to stop losing elite pitching prospects to injuries.
-
Detroit Tigers prized pitching prospect Casey Mize appears to have avoided a serious injury when an MRI exam performed Friday identified inflammation but no structural damage in his right shoulder.
-
Sorry - shoulder, not elbow. Even worse.
-
Well... If Casey Mize blew his elbow up, as it appears, 2020 may be yet another rebuilding year for the Thoroughbreds. And for the Tigers.
-
Sweet. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Nimrods, just an FYI ... I think your 7 HR day yesterday earns you a community badge - "Rare sighting" - congrats!
-
You just like his name.
-
Seth Beer - I wondered when he would be on the block. I was lucky to see him in his short stay with Tri City Valley Cats. He was only here a couple weeks but he looked fantastic!
-
Craig Stammen: 0.2IP, -55 Points. Is there some type of prize for this level of awful performance?

I would bench them all, use Braun at 1B and let Hiura cover it or just leave it empty when Braun needs a rest.
-
I would put Shaw at 1B over Thames or Aguillar and keep Hiura in the lineup.
-
The Brewers denied service time had anything to do with it. They would never lie, so it must be true :)
-
Had to make room for Shaw who is healed now and ready to continue tearing up the league. Service time had nothing to do with it, right?
-
Keston Hiura’s .530 SLG apparently is not good enough to avoid being optioned back to AAA.

I have no memory of bidding on Shoemaker, nor any idea why I would do that. Oh well...
-
I watched the Angels broadcast vs. the Twins yesterday. The announcers were shell shocked.
-
Yes, the Twins have been fun to watch this year. If I watch baseball, it's almost always the Twins, and it's been a tough stretch of years for them for the most part. I think this is my favorite team since the "Little Piranhas" of 2006, which was a totally different type of team than this year's is!

I don't know who started the bidding for Arraez, but I have to say I never heard of him until I saw his name here... 12 hits in 14 at bats is impressive - even in a small sample size. Interesting player. I need to watch more Twins games. They have put together a heck of a team.

Mighty Nimrods's trade block has been updated!

If anybody is interested in claiming another team, there is an available team in League 15 (The Sandlot). The team is called Hung Jeurys, and its roster is pretty good.

Actually - I was wrong (when I'm wrong I say I'm wrong)... Robles is currently 360th in Average Exit Velocity (between Billy Hamilton and Richie Martin), and Myers is 139th (between David Peralta and Paul Goldschmidt). I sorted by the wrong column. Fortunately for me, when I got it right the data even more strongly supports my argument.
-
Myers is 93rd in average exit velocity (right behind Mookie Betts). Robles is 259th (between Jake Marisnick and Josh Harrison). And Robles' unimpressive exit velocity was consistent throughout his minor league career. And no... I am NOT saying Myers is great and Robles is terrible. But I know that is what some people will decide I am saying. I am really only saying that I think Robles is being over-rated and Myers is being under-rated, and in reality I think they relatively close in value.
-
What does everybody see in Victor Robles as a hitter that is so much better than Wil Myers? I was told recently that Wil Myers at $11 is "not worth rostering". But Robles at $9 (apparently) is a huge value. Myers has much better average exit velocity, a much higher hard contact %, higher BB%, lower soft contact%. Where does the enormous difference in perception come from? Maybe I'm wrong and Robles is the next Mookie Betts. But I seriously doubt it.
-
I think Team Name went way over the line by calling Spa City "Wise One".
-
As long as there are 12 teams, there are going to be 12 different valuations on players. Look, either we can ALL gripe about trades we don't like, or we can ALL just keep our mouths shut. Either way, when it becomes personal and results in name calling, it is over the line. This is supposed to be entertainment to win a non-cash prize.
-
Of course you would
