Agreed. This feels almost like Spring Training, where it's great to watch baseball again but it's hard to invest in the stats and games really meaning anything.

Is anybody else getting concerned the season is at risk again? If another team reports a bunch of positive tests (even with nobody actually “sick”), will the scheduling and public relations headaches overwhelm MLB and force them to call it off?
-
40% of my starting rotation gone already. And in last place. This is fun.
-
Anyone looking towards next year interested in Verlander?
-
Thanks - my browser didn't show that there was actually a player there. Closing and re-opening then showed the player.

Try closing your browser and reopening.

I am trying to put a player in my UT slot for today's lineup - every time I do, I get a message "Please move one of your UT to your bench and try again". I don't have anyone in UT. Any thoughts on how to work around this? Thanks, Greg

I have depth at almost every position that I would be willing to deal for a quality OF.

Maui, if you want to have this conversation privately, DM me.

Imagine your friend, spouse, parent or child being suffocated to death by a criminal who is protected by the government or executed for going for a run or killed by the cops for just sleeping in bed. Maybe be thankful for what you have and show some compassion for your fellow humans who deal with hardships each day that you never will know or face.

not a productive, or dare I say, mature way to respond.
-
When you see your city being looted, burned, defaced, monuments and statues being pulled down by the same group that MLB and ESPN is glorifying, it is hard not to express frustration. I'm with Spa and Nimrods. This is a message board and one doesn't have to like or agree with everything expressed on it. One can choose to ignore, or express an opposing view without attacking any owner (oops, not supposed to use that word anymore) or agree. To have a hissy fit and take your team and go home
-
Commie garbage.
-
It sounds like you guys are the "snowflakes" by being so offended by the MLB supporting BLM. We just want to keep this stuff out of fantasy baseball. Save your complaints for your friends/family/social media. This is a baseball game.
-
I am at a loss for words. Are we really that divided as a country that we are going to let political and other opinions/stances dictate who we will play fantasy baseball with?
-
If the snowflakes stay in this league Iam leaving.
-
There is it! Wondered how long until some asshole started that "privilege" crap.
-
Wow. The entitlement, and dare I say, privilege. I cannot see myself returning to this league, either

Spa, I personally agree with you and also don't want to be expected to shut up and deal with Marxist nonsense every time I watch baseball. I am fine with occasional posts and personally they don't bother me at all, but it has been ALL the posts recently. When was the last time we discussed baseball?
-
If I am expected to shut up and deal with Marxist nonsense every time I watch baseball, I’m sure you guys can ignore my occasional posts without losing your minds.
-
No
-
I agree with everything Squirrels said, keep this off the league board.
-
I am guessing that we can all agree that we want politics out of the MLB and the MLB out of politics, left or right. I think we can help that cause by keeping politics out of this league. If you want to individually talk to someone about how much you hate what is going on and your stance on anything that is great, but the public message board we can leave for one thing, baseball.
-
Alright, but I think we need to realize that this is "fantasy" baseball. The whole point of this is supposed to be an escape from reality and somewhere to further enjoy a game that we all love. We can each individually hate what the MLB is doing and what is happening in the world, but now we are bringing it into an environment where it just has no reason to be in. We are now losing a good owner who has been here for over two years because of the politics that are dominating the message
-
When you add the new rules (more than half the league in the playoffs, silly extra inning rule, universal DH, face masks for people who have been repeatedly tested and deemed safe...) it is getting hard to watch.
-
Last night was hard to take. After the cheating scandals, MLB’s tolerance of domestic abuse, bitter public labor disputes, the steroid scandals... MLB was already pushing fans away. Last night’s awful display is just the final straw.
-
When you see my team abandoned, please understand that I'm leaving because of the attitudes expressed here, not because of MLB's actions. I didn't sign up for this.
-
I wish they had kept politics out. But not only did MLB become political, they went so sharply political. They are going to lose millions of fans.
-
You guys have brought politics into a $20 fake baseball league for months, but you shake your finger at MLB. Makes sense

And, to be clear, I want MLB out of politics. Can't we just let baseball be baseball?
-
Spa, I am with you. I have been a fan for 46 years. Attended my first MLB game in 1976. Remember waiting for the newspaper to arrive each day in 1980 to check the Royals box score and see how George Brett did in his chase for .400. Attended many MiLB games. Played baseball for 14 years. Coached many years. Introduced my children to the game. Every time I hear the national anthem, in my mind the next 2 words are always "Play ball". MLB needs to get out of politics: left or right.
-
48 years I have loved baseball almost at a religious level. I am struggling to even watch this garbage. Not sure I will be back with Ottoneu next year. I hope it is just a temporary thing but MLB is losing me. And if they can lose a fan who loves the game as much as me, they could lose millions of people.
-
WTF is happening? There is a huge Marxist BLM propaganda sign at Fenway, kneelers during the national anthem in LA, more than half the league will make the playoffs, absurd “facial coverings” on everybody, empty ballparks, announcers talking about “social justice” as if it isn’t a thin veneer for “far left politics cloaked in racial terms so cowards are too scared to oppose it,” piped in crowd noise... This is not baseball.
-
The first two homeruns of the season belong to the Squirrels!
-
I agree with you Might Nimrods... But didn’t you ask me to keep politics out of my message board comments? 🤨
-
I feel the same as you do Nimrods. Nevertheless, I'll still be watching.
-
I am with you Spa. I want baseball to be back because I love, LOVE! the game. I want to be excited. But, like everything else, it has become political theater. I don't want to be bombarded by political messages while I watch or read about the game. It is sickening to have a Marxist organization supported on every MLB field this weekend. I am so close to checking out.
-
I am somewhere in the middle. Very excited for baseball to be back, but definitely not feeling the same level of excitement I normally do on opening day. There might still be some correlation to quality of ones favorite team to the level of excitement. Spa's Pirates are so bad they are abandoning them as a fan, and Summer of Slider's Twins are extremely fun to watch right now.
-
On the other hand, I am more excited to watch baseball again than ever.
-
Opening day always feels like a holiday. But this year I can barely manage to care.
-
Yeah that is a lot of money for someone who posted -1.0 WAR last year. Maybe this year he can at least get back to batting .247?
-
That $23 bid for Khris Davis strikes terror in my heart.
-
Players on the 60-day IL, the COVID-19 IL or who have an Opt-out designation do not count against your 40 roster spots. Their salary still counts against your cap, however

Question - when I look at my team roster, it says I have 41 out of 43 players (one is in the IL). Not sure what the other two spots are, as I think we are limited to 40 players.
-
I assume positive tests now won’t be a problem - just a 2 week quarantine. I am more worried they will shut things down if players test positive once the season starts.
-
Looks like I have 6 players on my team that have already tested positive for COVID-19...
-
I have the Pirates on probation. I was a Pirate fan for 47 years. Last year I finally started to divorce my fandom from them. We are in a trial separation. The Pirates are saying, “We have changed. It will be different this time.” But I am not convinced. Cheri cron is only there until another job opens. And the ownership has not changed. Time will tell.
-
I believe the Pirates changed their management quite sufficiently this past year. Let's see what happens.

I don't disagree regarding Casas vs Kjerstad.
