Hey everyone--rec'd a question from an owner and thought it made sense to send a posting to the league. Our scoring system is fangraph points, not roto 5x5 or anything. So, for example, stolen bases aren't nearly as valuable in this format.

I also am looking to move some starting pitching for hitting. Between Verlander, King Felix, Keuchel, Hamels, Harvey, Zimmermann, De Leon, Urias, Teheran, and the newly rotation official Ryu ($2!), I have an embarrassment of riches at SP. Looking to trade for hitters - primarily outfielders.

Okay, I get it. The Auctions table at the top of the page doesn't update with new bids. It sits at the opening bid for the full 48 hours. So this is a true blind auction - blind to who is bidding for the player and blind to the amounts being bid. Thx
-
No risk other than someone else wanting to assure themselves the same player and they too max bid. Then the player goes to the team that has more money by that one dollar. You max at $50 and someon else with the same idea maxs at $32, you get him for $33 not $2
-
What's the risk of raising a $1 bid with max budget for any player you want, thereby practically insuring you get the player for a mere $2?
-
also, if you nominate someone and no one else bids, you get that player for $1. so make sure you want the player for at least a buck before starting an auction.
-
a quick explanation on the auctions. they're blind and the winner pays $1 more than the second-highest bidder. e.g., if i bid $9 and the second-highest bid is $5, i'll get him for $6.

56, born in N-Dak, lived all over the US, currently in Santa Fe, NM. Played in a 4x4 roto back in '84 & '85. Have played in an AL only roto with Harmon's Killer Brew since 2005. Been mostly a Pirates fan since the Clemente days, although I also like the Mariners from my 25 yrs living in Seattle. Can't beat the memory of watching Fisk hit a walk off HR in game 6 of the '75 series, even on television.

The Price is Wright's trade block has been updated!
-
33, also born on the Cape (Price is Wright, what town are you from?) went to college with Muskies where we played on a really bad IM football team together. Living outside of Boston now. Favorite baseball memory is probably Victorino's bomb in 2013 with everyone in Fenway singing Bob Marley. Or maybe just Fenway chanting "Yankees suck" on a random Tuesday against the Royals. Just had my first kid so likely to respond to trade offers at 2 AM.
-
54, born in Boston, currently reside in Tucson Az. Huge Red Sox fan. Commissioner of NL only rotisserie league since 1988. Besides all forms of fantasy baseball I enjoy poker and Hearthstone. Season ticket holder of AHL Tucson Roadrunners Uof A basketball, mini plan Diamondbacker and San Die..errrrrr LA Chargers. Was at Game 4 in St Louis when the Red Sox won their first world series in forever. Was at Game 4 clincher in Colorado as well.

23 here, central MN here but a Michigander at heart. Tigers are first and foremost by boys, but there's plenty of room for loving the Dodgers and O's too. I teach social studies and the WBC is crazy fun to watch (RIP sleep schedule). Favorite memory: Magglio putting us into the World Series, 2006.

Sugary - So your favorite baseball memory is the one that still keeps me (and all other Rangers fans) up at night? Great, we'll get along just fine........
-
41, Dutch. I live in Peru with my wife and daughter. Cardinals-fan (although the hacking scandal made me question my loyalties). Playing fantasy for about 5 years now. Doing my own dollar values. Relentless in my pursuit of surplus value :-) I am playing in 3 Ottoneu-leagues and usually about 4-5 teams on the ESPN platform. Loved game 6 of the Cardinals-Rangers 2011 World Series
-
I'm 75 and looking forward to some golf in Myrtle Beach next week. Born in Ohio, raised in NorCal and landed in Virginia Beach after a career in the USN. I've been a Giants fan since 1958 and remember watching Willie Mays at Seals Stadium and the Stick. Love all sports but baseball is my favorite.
-
I also forgot my favorite baseball memory... Neftali Feliz striking out Alex Rodriguez in the 2010 ALCS to secure the Texas Rangers' first playoff berth in franchise history. (The results of that series and the one following it need not be discussed). Non-game favorite memory might be getting Cal Ripken to sign my baseball at the 1994 All-Star game festivities when I was a boy.
-
I live and work in DC (I work with Peel & Eat Schimpf, which is how I ended up here). Originally from Connecticut, lifelong Red Sox fan, and my greatest baseball memory is being at Game 6 (the last game) of the 2013 World Series at Fenway.

not twins hate--just tigers bitterness. :) we small to mid-market teams need to stick together though . . .

Between Jose Abreu, Adrian Gonzalez, Adrian Beltre, and Maikel Franco, I can't start them all. Looking for a solid outfielder in return if any of you have 1B/3B needs.
-
Haha, P&E! And I suppose you believe Hrbek pulled Gant off the bag in the '91 series as well. Just never ends with the Twins hate.
-
I'm a college student, and have grown up on Cape Cod (Massachusetts) all my life. I'm a diehard Boston sports fan (Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, Bruins). Back in highschool I played baseball, basketball, and ran cross country.
-
34, live in New York City but am a proud Texan. Love all Dallas sports teams (Rangers, Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars).... might explain why I contributed all 3 of my arbitration dollars to Joey Gallo this past offseason when I could not successfully pry him from peel/schimpf in a trade.... No kids, but a wonderful girlfriend and a great dog. Looking forward to hopefully being competitive this season.
-
happy belated birthday, HKB! in my book, the '87 loss has an * due to the questionable metrodome HVAC usage.
-
Just turned double nickels so I've been playing this crazy game a long, long time and still loving it. Longtime Minnesota resident, mostly in the Twin Cities. Best baseball memory is Twinkies beating Tigers in 1987 (sorry Peel and Eat). The team arrived back home just before midnight after the last game and was greeted by 55,000 fans in the Metrodome. Unbelievable. Non-baseball activities include golf, playing war games (just how nerdy can a guy get???) and raising my two kids!!
-
let's do some preseason intros. i'm 45, live in the DC metro area (Maryland), and a transplanted Michigander. lifelong Tigers fan, still reminiscing about the magical '84 season. other than baseball, i enjoy bike riding, disc golf, and homebrewing.
