• The difference btwn the Surplus sheet and Auction calculator is the former uses inflation (accounts for the players kept) but inflation effects are not big and sort of balance out anyway.

• If you know how to use the auction calculator on Fangraphs you get pretty much the same player valuation results as Vibber's Surplus sheet, and the calculator makes it easy by having a radio button that automatically changes all of the fantasy variables to Ottoneu FG Pts leagues. From the calculator, I knew Pederson and Lamet were going to be extremely overvalued 4 weeks ago.

• it's an interesting tool. it calculates kept value, uses that number to calculate inflation, but as far as I can tell never seems to "solve for x" and recalculate using that inflation value.
