Wow. Thanks for sharing that. Seems like MLB should consult with us on how to achieve parity.

That's crazy close. Good luck (but not too good!) to everyone the rest of the way. Should be a fun ride.

Here are the top 7 adjusted standings normalized for G & IP, according to my calculations: Franimal 4098; WAR 4097; Baggers 4083; Astudillo 3993; Vlad 3984; bitchin' 3945; Framber 3940
-
If I ever learn when to start my players you guys are screwed.
-
haha, thanks—i’d like to keep this a no-drama league. we have a great group of owners.

Dropping nearly 200 pts in the standings in one night and forced to clean up after last yr's champion the next morning, all with no complaints. Good work BC.
-
no worries, this game has a lot of quirks.

Yeah that's everybody. Thanks much for cleaning up my mess. I guess after two seasons of maintaining ample cap space, I kinda freaked out.
-
ok, i think everything should be fixed now. Rusty, sorry--i accidentally added them to your team the first time. can you guys please double-check to see if everything looks correct?

Need Urquidy, Madrigal and Jeffers back. Thanks.

Astudillo--does everything look to be in order?

No worries. I would not have known that rule either.
-
I guess I can do this much now: Scherzer is my drop for Guerriel. I thought I needed only to clear $21 in salary (Ohtani-Buxton-Arraez-Hernandez) to get him on my roster, but I forgot that you need $1 in space for each open roster spot. I've asked the commissioner to restore Ohtani-Buxton-Arraez-Madrigal-Urquidy-Jeffers to my roster. Again, apologies for my confusion.
-
I stupidly misunderstood the relationship between salary cap and roster spots. When the commissioner is available I will have my recent transaction redone, and I'll explain fully. Thanks for your patience.

"Brad News Bears" was briefly considered.

drat, franimal remains . . .

I'm surprised FC hasn't been renamed FranMiller by now. That SOB just homered again, btw.

haha, love it. plus now i’m not constantly reminded of my irrational hatred of animal collective.

New-ish team, new name. I've been told this name dates me, so please show me the way!
-
I'll call your Brad Miller and raise you an Alex Dickerson.
-
Brad "Everything" Miller works for me as a nickname
-
Everything changed in 2020. That's not a comment on the state of the world; I'm talking about Brad Miller.
-
i’m basically in last, once you adjust for innings and games played.

It's probably sad for him & his family but a Mike Minor trade will always be a minor trade.
-
Trout, Rendon and Aroldis are available for trade
-
given the amount of analytics going into swing changes, i'm way more inclined to jump on small-sample-size improvements than i would have been four or five years ago. i just think the number of late-career improvements is way higher than it once was. i am stupidly stoked to have $1 Eric Hosmer, in spite of the reality that a regression is more likely than not.
-
It's a tiny sample size, but I was struck by the dramatic change in Miller's BB:K ratio. It's worth investigating every player who comes up in auctions.
-
i should’ve spent more time analyzing and less mocking. if Miller’s projections are taken as his floor, a .330 wOBA w multi-position eligibility has a lot of value.

The third double-take is that Brad Miller's OPS is 1.015, and he's been the 15th-unluckiest guy in the league. Which won't continue, but it's worth $2 to find out
-
Yeah Niv called it a known issue. He cited doubleheaders and changing probables as the reasons Ferguson's points were erroneously counted (though I'm not sure if that was the case with WAR's pitcher).
-
I think coding for DH's is 90% of niv's headaches.
-
Niv says he'll fix it.
-
I mean, the solution is probably to change it to 5 SP slots and 5 P slots...trotting out 5+ SPs in a day is not a viable strategy anyway
-
When I messaged Niv about the last one, he had it fixed in less than an hour. Don't know if it's something that would eventually have been fixed without him checking on it specifically.
-
Bummer. I don't think there's anything I can do as commissioner about this. But I think the whole concept of a starting pitcher vs. relief pitcher lasts maybe another 2 years.

That RP makes a spot start thing seems to be a problem for Ottoneu. Yesterday Caleb Ferguson pitched the first inning in Game 2 of LA's doubleheader. Since it was a DH I had no opportunity to shift him from active RP to a SP spot ahead of time; his start wasn't announced till after Game 1. Under Today's Stats, Ferguson's 7.4 points don't appear and aren't included in my daily total, but as of now the league standings have me for the extra 7.4. I should have 99.0 for yesterday and 3272.1 total.
-
Actually that was the second double-take. The first was when I noticed Brad Miller still in MLB.
-
Shouldn't be surprised by anything that happens in 2020 but did a double-take when I noticed Brad Miller batting cleanup for the Cardinals.
-
i mean current auctions

Scanning the global leaderboards just now and didn't see more than a couple of Ottoneu points leagues with 2-3 teams close at the top. Not surprising, I suppose. Even in a short season the high-point teams get all those points based on the competition in their leagues. But I still believe the overall competitiveness of this league is uncommon. Grateful to be part of this group.
-
By the way, I'm one of the teams ahead of pace in innings so I'm not within 100 pts of the lead.
-
That's okay. Those of us ahead in innings are happy to trade you the #7 and #8 starters on our staffs. Anyone for Robbie Ray?
-
of course, normalizing for innings expects that you have some pitchers who aren't hurt
-
Normalized for innings, we have seven teams within a hundred points.
-
It's Tampa, so the start time is either related to the traffic or some strip club special that starts around 7.
-
who starts a game at 3:00 on a Monday? sigh.

agree with 1812 and Franimal, i think if your guy only plays in one game of a DH, you only get charged for one game.
