I can do 14th but not before 8 pm ET
-
I think rescheduling’s the right move if we can find a time—I hope everything’s OK, Neil, and that you’re able to join us. Like everyone else who’s posted so far, I’m free almost any day in March—I think my only conflicts are other fantasy drafts, actually.
-
That weekend works for me too. I just can't do the 20th (and would prefer not to do the 21st).
-
I've got nothing on the calendar, so I'd say I'm free any day in March. I'd like to do what we can to get Neil to the draft. I hope things work out for you and the emergency isn't too serious.
-
does anyone have a conflict if we move the draft back a week for Neil? Say either Sat the 13th or Sun the 14th?
-
Take care, Neil. You'll be missed at the auction. I hope the emergency doesn't turn out too serious.
-
So, I won't be at the draft. Unavoidable emergency. I suggest you go ahead without me. I have 28 players and can deal with the rest later. For once keeping more guys than I should just because they're my guys worked out. I'll check in when I can.
-
For the opposite (i.e., players on teams), you can leave free agents only unchecked and then sort by the team name column. Just don't forget to look at the top and bottom as some of the team names will be in each place.
-
Oops, didn't see you wanted free agent prospects. You can select for Minor Leaguers Only from Players.
-
Go to Players, uncheck RP & SP, check the "Free Agents Only" box, then click Search - that'll get you all free agent hitters. Do the reverse to get pitchers.
-
not that i'm aware of. i usually go through a prospect list or two and just do a bunch of manual searches.
-
Is there a way to get an easy list of all of the players who are/are not owned? The website doesn't seem to have a great way to do this, especially for prospects.
-
Last chance to chime in if this Sunday, March 7 at 8 pm eastern doesn't work for you. Thanks!
-
i pushed the start time back to 8 pm, which is a lot better for me, given my kid’s 7 pm bedtime. please respond into the board if that doesn’t work for you. thanks!

March 7 should be fine for me.
-
not to jinx it, but this is looking like the most painless draft date selection we’ve ever had.

Position eligibility will be the same as 2020. They're not changing due to pandemic.
-
Has anyone seen, anywhere in the site discussion, on when they are going to update positions? Would certainly help understanding prior to the draft
-
March 7 evening okay for me too.
-
March 7 works for me any time is ok with me. Chuck

I assume we are talking about Eastern Time? (sorry I work with people in so many different time zones that I have to ask this question every time)

I’m free all evening on 3/7

I’d definitely be in favor of a later start.
-
I would vote for an hour earlier or an hour later, but I can make 7:00 PM work if that's the consensus
-
Works for me.
-
3/7 is good for me.
-
March 7 works.
-
I am good for March 7
-
i think typically about 2-3 hrs.

March 7 works for me. How long do the drafts typically take?

so i know i said we’d use the current draft date as a placeholder, but i thought it was at least worth checking—does March 7 not work for anyone?

alas, my main skill was making trades with huge loans.

Per OPL, yeah there are differences btwn the 2 leagues and like WAR says, I'll have to manage the same team for both. I'm trying it out on a lark to see how it is. I'll report back, esp if I end up in the $. Dave's team from 3 yrs ago would have def finished in the money and may have took the top prize had OPL existed then.
-
1. no trade vetos; 2. no re-auctioning a player you previously cut, unless you bid at least the amount of his salary when you cut him; and 3. an arbitration coupon system, designed to encourage full lineups and discourage trades w huge loans

Matt—here’s a link to our league-specific rules.

Also don't like that you'd be managing one team for two different scoring systems--especially with best ball scoring, every spot you use for a prospect etc. for the main league hurts you for the alternate system.
-
I don't know about that prestige league. Other leagues don't have our salary cap rules, and frankly wouldn't the fact that this league is competitive here hamstring you against leagues that have less parity? There are frequently teams on the global leaderboards that have $500+ in salary and/or several really awful teams in their league
-
by all means, if you like those guys, then keep them. that’s one of the fun things about this format. do you understand the basics of arbitration, and cap penalties?

They were both kinda fringey for me, but I'm probably higher than consensus on both guys. I probably erred on the conservative side of cutting guys if I'm being honest, so hopefully that doesn't backfire!

though that slack channel led me to cutting a $3 Juan Soto a few yrs ago. :(

there’s a keep/cut slack channel, if you’re interesed. you might not get much feedback at the moment, because it’s after the trade deadline. but it could be helpful in the future.

I made some cuts today only kinda-sorta having any idea what I'm doing. Hopefully I didn't making any truly head-scratching decisions!

Update: No partner necessary as it turns out. I was thinking I needed one to manage the load, including drafting a new team, but the Prestige League merely uses my Framber roster as measured against up to 240 other teams.
-
Heads up, Ottoneu has created an Ottoneu Premiere League ($50) you can enter from the Community Board topic or the dashboard. Looks pretty interesting. The original 120 slots got bought up fast but they just opened it up to another 120 entries. Act fast if you want to participate. Taking a stab at it with Cronenworthy (Neil) as a co-owner.
-
Welcome Matt. WAR (Matt) won the championship after 2 yrs in the league in 2020, and Croneworthy (Neil) won it in 2019 after 2 yrs in the league, as well. Good luck!
-
As the last person to join the league (two seasons ago), and a fellow Matt, I can confirm this is a great league. Welcome!
-
Welcome, Matt! It really is a great league. Commish does a great job of keeping things running smoothly and teams are welcoming to trades. So kick back, relax and have fun.
