This Eloy Jimenez injury looks like it could be really bad. Apologies to whoever has him for the news that seems likely to come out later today.
-
on the plus side, i won’t get my hopes up this season.

Not a surprise considering how Anderson was used in October. That was another reason the Rays should have stuck with Snell in Game 6, btw.
-
Wow Dave, your bullpen really is cursed. It's not in Rotowire yet but from a FG chat it sounds like Nick Anderson's elbow is now barking.
-
I get those points. Again, I was looking at this only as a one-season change to compensate for the fact that the pitchers we roster will all have reduced innings this season. Even with the response from MLB teams, a spike in pitching injuries is very much a possibility as well. It's also possible I'm overrating the impact of this and we'll all be able to get our innings without any extra effort. In any event, the league has spoken. I'll move on.
-
I would have voted against the change too. I understand the point, but in my mind managing your roster isn't just setting lineups, it's also filling 162 games per position and the equivalent innings, even if doing so requires releasing prospects to pick up the proverbial replacement level player, and even if the replacement level is lower for pitchers this year.
-
I believe a new Ottoneu or general fantasy baseball skill that will be required by owners going forward is to accurately evaluate back end pitching at the season end, whether to meet IP caps or contending for a championship. Loading up on bad pitching would simply be trying to tick the box instead of honing the skill. Also, any newly acquired SP at season end can always be kept 4 months later so it's a worthwhile scouting activity, too.
-
My only thought with all that was that if people are managing their rosters, they should get the full coupon. The way pitchers are going to be used this year, I'm not sure that will be possible. But I suppose at least non-contending teams could just load up on bad pitching, which would be kind of a messed up incentive.
-
Great new team name! I like it a lot.
-
Wow how did I miss that one!?
-
Since he's already on your team, Soler, not Solider, no?
-
Working on coming up with a new team name and will someone trade me Jesse Winker so I can go with Winker Naylor Soldier Spy? Thanks!
-
Oh, I see things are moving fast and my input was no longer necessary . Love how active this league is!

I don’t feel strongly enough that I’d kill it if I were the only objector, but I also lean against this idea

just a reminder, the targets are 1,400 IP for a $4 coupon and 1,475 for $8. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bJ6GGjkw-1jNnzTNCeECL99NtbAKOIerIY0vRZ-FpNk/edit#gid=0
-
with Trust the Process's objection and an anonymous objection from another owner we can consider the proposal rejected. we'll continue with our original coupon system. it may be harder to reach the targets this season, but it'll be harder for everyone.
-
I'm happy to tank this idea if we need unanimous support. I kinda built my staff for the purpose of volume and I'm sorry the rest of you didn't as well!
-
I'm vaguely against it, but I don't have a problem with it. Maybe instead of bothering with a survey someone could just object publicly/privately to the management? It's a pretty straightforward yes/no.
-
that is unless someone just wants to object here on the board. then we wouldn’t need to bother.
-
i’m in favor, though as cronenworthy mentioned, i think it needs to be unanimous since we already drafted. i’ll set up a survey monkey in the next day or so.
-
I just think it's going to be very tough for people to get innings this year without resorting to completely crap options. And yes this occurred to me only after making Urquidy and Rainey free agents.
-
Brought this up with the Commish and he said we could only do this with unanimous support, which is fair. So chime in with your thoughts.
-
So I've been reading MLB news about 6-man rotations and no one reaching 200 IP this year, and got to wondering about our coupon thresholds. Maybe we should pare them back slightly for this season? Currently the thresholds are 1475 IP for the full coupon and 1400 IP for a partial amount. Maybe we should do 1450 and 1350? Or even 1400 and 1350? Obviously this issue affects everyone but it'd kinda suck for teams that manage their rosters through the whole season to miss out on the bonus.
-
getting my annual bullpen implosion out of the way early this year.
-
Man, is there a guy I dropped who isn't dominating this spring?
-
In OPL he is worth more as roster slots are at a premium, exc the pun, and he fills almost 2 full slots as 1 player.
-
Ohanti might just break this game.
-
Highest points per inning of his career last year 🚀🚀🚀
-
Kluber is signed for $38?!?

Currently can't get into the Auction
-
one other tip--you can enter the draft room anytime between now and the draft to add some players of interest to your watchlist.
-
That's fantastic, Neil. I hope you and your family are staying safe and doing well.
-
Just got back and while I'm still going day by day here, I expect to be present for Sunday's draft. Thanks so much to everyone for moving the date.
-
we’re a mandatory nomination league, which means if you don’t nominate, you’ll be automatically locked out of the draft. i understand that accidents happen and i can manually let you back in. but this shouldn’t occur more than once or twice during the draft.
-
A few reminders to keep the draft to a manageable length: 1) have several guys in your queue at all times; 2) be ready to nominate immediately when it's your turn; 3) don't be afraid to make your opening bid a reasonable one (you aren't getting Freeman for $15 - you could open at $35 or even $40); 4) don't be afraid to increase the bid by more than $1 at a time; and 5) please try to arrive in the draft room at least 5 mins early so we can start promptly at 8:30.
-
Ok, let's lock it in. Looking forward to the draft this Sunday, 3/14 starting at 8:30 pm eastern.
-
final chance to weigh in if next Sunday, 3/14 doesn't work for you. thanks!
-
The evening of the 14th works for me too.
-
Free whenever, and agree that rescheduling so that Neil can join us a good idea

it’s a little late, but if everyone nominates promptly we should be done by 11.
-
no worries—Sunday the 14th at 8:30 eastern?
-
Sorry for the confusion in my earlier post. You asked when we weren't available and I gave you the opposite.
-
I 100% cannot make the 13th. That's why I said I'm available on the 14th after 8 pm.
-
i set the new draft date and time to sat march 13 at 8 pm eastern. does that not work for anyone?
-
I'm fine with anything, with the caveat that 7pm start is the worst possible time. Earlier and later are both fine.
-
Three of us are scheduling a draft in another league, so knowing the answer to this by say, this Saturday (the 6th) would be helpful.
