Thanks NxNW! Just a note for all managers, if you're not planning on staying in the league for 2021, please let me know as soon as possible so I can line up any replacement owners. ThanksQ
-
Congrats, Danger!
-
Great season everyone! I didn't think we'd actually get a "full" season in, but I'm glad we did.
-
Just a note: the league expectation is that your roster is legal going in to the offseason, which is to say that your roster at 11:59 PM Sunday is at or under cap and your number of players is less than or equal to 40 + 60 day IL players. This is just a friendly reminder, as no one is currently violating this.

I have the same fond memories. He and Nick Franklin were the infield of the future.

Sabo! Nice pickup of Brad Miller. I have fond memories of him years ago in the mariners system. I'm happy to see him having so much success this year, finally.
-
I'm back online. I have 4 catchers and 7 middle infielders, and am open to moving anyone, although I'm still trying to squint and see myself as a contender so I'm not looking to move impact guys for prospects at this point.
-
Anyone interested in pitchers?
-
If anyone wants Yates for next year, I'll let him go pretty cheap.

Feels like the season is unraveling...

Ok, seeing no strong objections, our arb plan will be as described where arbitration is only done if MLB has a "full" 2020 season. Let the games begin!
-
I also don't have strong feelings about arb.
-
Between opt outs and injuries, I may end the season with a 60 man roster at this rate. So whatever arb we want to do is good with me.
-
I don't have strong feelings about arb. I haven't logged in to Ottoneu in months! Have to see who is even on my team. : - )
-
That works for me, just excited we are finally days away from baseball!
-
I'm fine with that as a plan (only doing arb. if we make it through 60 games); however, I don't have real strong feelings about it, and am fine doing whatever the majority want.
-
In regards to arb for the next off-season, my current thinking is to do arbitration only if we get a "full" 2020 season. If there season gets cancelled at some point, we don't do arb. Any other thoughts on that?
-
What is the league's thoughts on arbitration for a shortened season? Probably be a good idea to finalize that thinking before any type of season.
-
looks like we'll get some games!
-
I believe it has to do with a refund deadline for league that haven't drafted yet. No surprise season that I'm aware of.
-
any clue what Season Starts: Friday, May 15, 2020 means? Is there something brewing that we're not aware of yet? :)
-
Bye Bye Baby, the joke could be on us. We may all be waiting until 2021.
-
In the short time since the draft, Iβve lost one starter to Tommy John, and another is seeing the Tommy John expert. See yβall in 2021! Haha
-
I'd prefer a later draft, but I agree that participation is more important than proximity to opening day.

It's the date everyone said would work. It's most important to me that everyone be able to attend the draft. It's not like you can't still make roster moves prior to the season.
-
Like I said in my message I think it is ridiculous to draft almost 6 weeks before the season starts. Just my opinion and I guess I was in the minority but what's the rush.
-
Alright, I've reached out to people about availability, and it looks like we should be able to get everyone there on 2/16 at 9 pm ET. If for some reason you find you are unable to make this date as we draw nearer, please let me know, and I will work to find a proxy for you so that you don't have your team miss out on the draft entirely. Looking forward to the auction!
-
I added availability for 2/25.
-
Looking for three more responses to our draft day poll. Currently we do not have any dates that everyone said they can do. The most we have so far is 7 out of 9 on both 2/16 and 2/25, so it will likely be one of those days. If possible, could each of you review your answers and add in any days that may not be preferable but that you could make work? I want to try to get everyone in the draft if at all possible. I'm hoping to lock down a date by Friday. https://doodle.com/poll/nvywzpgnhykqp3e2

haha, look who forgot to cut. I unexpectedly got pressed into coaching basketball yesterday, and that took over everything from around 2:00 to 11 pm. Woulda shoulda coulda made like 3-6 more cuts, including Rizzo and Bryant. Ufda. GO CUBS!!!
-
Hey y'all. I've set up a Doodle poll to schedule draft day. Please respond ASAP so we can get that on the calendar. Thanks! https://doodle.com/poll/nvywzpgnhykqp3e2

Same for me with Machado and Chapman

Danger, same thing with my team in regard to Rizzo and Bryant. I'm not 100% sure but leaning toward cutting them both. I have them at $50 and $49.
-
As a public service announcement: I am planning to cut Bryce Harper and Justin Turner. If you would rather have them at their current salaries than risk having to bid against other owners for them at auction, it will not take much to get them, so long as I see the return as keepable.
-
Seriously, I could easily forget. The 31st is Friday night - hopefully we all remember.
-
I cut early mostly out of fear of forgetting later :)

yes, it should just be the manager's preference. i don't believe their is any action the commissioner needs to take in order for it to be available; it's just an available part of the game now.
-
so its available by manager, not by league? So I can opt to use that feature that others in our league may not? or does it have to be enabled for the league first?
-
The first one does not since this is not a head-to-head league. The auto-eject option is (to my understanding) available for all leagues in 2020. You won't be forced to use it, but it will be available. I don't think it really affects gameplay at all; it's really just a tool to use your game caps more efficiently.
-
do the gameplay changes for 2020 impact our league at all? I don't think the first one does, but does the second one?
-
Welcome aboard Chris.
-
And I have a placeholder team name to match.

Well, I tried to cut everybody, but I only got so far on the first try. I thought it was a fairly spectacular first try though. I will be sorting through the remainder to see what's left. Glad to be here!

We have a new owner for the team fka Kluber Lang and the Pitied Fools. Please welcome Chris to the league!

Which is why I was asking him how many years he was in the league. Was it just one?
-
I commented on 6/14: ""I have no problem with a team accumulating incoming loans in future value for present value trades."" I think many/most people on Ottoneu agree. I would agree too, if we were locked into our leagues for like 10 years. But we're not. So I'm NOT a fan of these trades, because new owners can come into leagues, strip mine the team for one year of contention, then move on to another league, leaving a smoking ruin behind. We should have to live with our decis
