To be fair, Ohtani was arb'd to 81 so atleast some of us (myself included) felt he was worth more than 75 if he's going to pitch this year.

Fwiw, I hesitated to accept. Senga was expected to be an ace before he got hurt and basically missed a year. He has better stats than skenes and he's cheaper.
Bazzana is expected to be a star and could be up in the majors this year.
Skenes will probably cost $40 to keep if owners pile money on him again in arbitration.

That’s not just about Skenes- in the history of the league there have been a lot of enormously valuable assets traded for much lighter returns than would have been available if the manager had shopped more broadly- Witt, Strider, Soto, etc.
