I kind of agree with Rizz. I think it sounds interesting but can completely change the game and strategy doing head to head. And playoffs seem like they would cheapen the regular season. Even in real life people seem to agree it is good entertainment but not good at objectively determining the best team that year.

I like H2H, but I've planned a season with points so I'd be dramatically AGAINST h2h scoring for the season. I'd be open for the playoff option, but I don't like the idea of switching to h2h as a scoring method to determine a league champion (even though it could keep people more active). Additionally, the idea hasn't been vetted very well; I'd be skeptical to start something that isn't very thoughtful. I'll be open minded. Of course, Krak will have to stop trading for us to have playoffs ;)

So Commish, are we switching to H2H or playoffs for '18? I read that Niv said it was an option. I'm not sure about the H2H option, but divisions and playoffs sounds like a cool idea. What does everyone else think?

While I can appreciate the active ownership, I agree with you Rizz. There appears to be just trading for fun of it and no actual direction. I hope your trading with a plan or direction in mind. At some point, you can't make three trades every day(unless it's to my team..lol). I am glad we have an active group though.

The playoffs are a crapshoot anyway. Anyone could win. But I do think the Yanks are supremely well positioned to win the division.

The lineup is grand. No doubt. But Judge struggled a ton in the second half. Salvaged himself in the playoffs a little. The SP is good, but Severino has to duplicate himself. Tanaka is good. Sonny Gray is...okay? Jordan Montgomery is a back end starter.I repeat: bullpens are extremely volatile. Baseball seasons are wrecked by December bullpen hype. And again...the up the middle defense (C, SS, 2b, and CF) just isn't good....regardless of Sanchez's throwing arm.

Whose rotation is better in the AL? Tampa perhaps, Cleveland definitely, and the Astros. Maybe Boston if everyone is healthy. But the Yankees' pen is better than all but Cleveland, and look at this lineup: Gardner-Judge-Stanton-Sanchez-Didi-Hicks-Bird-Headley-Torres. This team may score 1000 runs.

Stanton does have to stay healthy all year and Judge needs to be the first half Judge. You could certainly do a lot better than that rotation. There is not enough there to lock down other teams in the playoff’s. They will be good but not a lock.

And can we have a moment of silence for Starlin Castro? He gets traded to the Yankees after toiling for years on average to bad Cubs' teams. Then the Cubs win the WS. Now? Gets traded by the Yankees to the Marlins just as the Yankees are preparing to do the same.
