Welcome to the league, Hot Spurs!

Hotspurs Baseball Club 2's trade block has been updated!

Oh, and I suppose Encarnacion, or perhaps Freeman.
-
Gonna try to keep this team together, so I'm not really gonna be making a ton of deals. That being said, I will hear offers on Donaldson for the moment.
-
Thank you for the warm welcome

Just heard back from Niv. He will do an overhaul of the renewal dates, after the 2017 season. So for the 2018 season all renewal dates will be the same as the Keeper Deadline.
-
Aces's trade block has been updated!
-
It shows that your next renewal date is in 2018, so I think it does show that you have paid.
-
Paid this morning{good thing I have receipt}, because it doesn't show paid at 2:16 PM. Somebodys sleeping somewhere!

Just to let everyone know, I learned from Niv is planning on overhauling the renewal dates after the 2017 season starts.
-
Because if you intend to pay on March 25, our draft auction can't be assigned until after that date. Some teams may drop out because of that. So if you or other teams intend to do that, we may be recruiting in late March to get new owners. As a result the league may possibly fold so your plan to continue this year as well as in future years may be thwarted. So all I am asking is that you give the league a vote of confidence and pay your fees early.
-
You sound like the type of passionate player we are looking for in this league. I am happy that you planned your draft for future years as well. I may not be able to abandon your team, but we voted and most teams want to have confidence that we have committed owners in our league, owners that are not going to bail at the last minute. Your team expires on March 25, 2017. Let me ask you, when did you intend to pay the fee for your team?
-
Your opinions or preferences carries no weight. Rules are in place by Ottoneu. That will be all on this topic. Every two weeks you try it again. Your determined to get your way. NO!

I will contact Ottoneu and they can either settle down your adding your mess to rules already in place or refund my money. My team has not expired. I planned my draft for future years as well. You will not come in and change rules already in place. You can ask owners that you would prefer prepaid, but you will not enforce it by booting owners if they don't meet your preference.

NO SIR! You won't abandon any team, especially mine, if payment is not made by your wishful deadline. You will follow Ottoneu rules. I signed up last season and drafted my team with a plan to continue this year as well. I drafted certain players with that in mind. I signed up knowing rules already in place by Ottoneu. Nowhere did it say Aces rules. You do not have authority to put your preferences in this league.

McCheese, Just threw any other rules out there, but I think your are right. We are only worried about payments in December.
-
I don't think we need to add anything other than "pay your fees on time" and "do your allocations." Bbay Steps. Baby Steps.
-
I'm fine with the payment, but didn't realize we r opening things up to creating our own rules. Depending on these I could be out.

Ah crap. Sorry guys, didn't see you wanted payment in December. Too close to Christmas for me to justify $100 to Fantasy Baseball that early. Please remove me from the league. Thanks.

Like I said there will be growing pains but we will end up with a strong league in the end, not a passive league.

Now we need to set up rules specific to our league in addition to the Ottoneu rules. I think the first rule should be: EACH TEAM FEE OF $99.99 HAS TO BE PAID BEFORE ALLOCATIONS START FOR TEAMS INTENDING TO STAY IN THE LEAGUE.............How does this sound to everyone? Also, let us know if their are additional rules we need to put in place. Thanks
-
Thanks everyone. We now have the majority of owners going with paying in December. Let's go with a date of all teams intending to stay in the league to have their fees paid by December 10. I'll keep everyone apprised of the payments.
-
I will pay whenever. It doesn't matter to me.

As soon as the vote is over we can do that. No problem.
-
I agree with posting our rules in addition to OTTONEU rules---that's when the league really becomes a GREAT LEAGUE! We get owners that commit to more than one season!

Ok. That is 5 votes for paying in December. Since Country Dogs left, we currently have 11 teams in our league. So one more vote to pay in December would be the majority.
-
I vote for paying early too, and I agree with Mookie that it should be before arbitration (in the future years, obviously) as that is really the start of our season. My only suggestion would be that we post any rules that are outside of the official Ottoneu rules. This way we avoid any conflict regarding what the rules actually are and also new people like me can be quickly up to speed if the rules are posted. Thanks.

Ok, I unlike most try to form my team before the auction draft, less owners to compete with. Most wait until the cut deadline--drop lots of players, then participate in the auction draft. My way I am ok if everyone drops out and all teams are taken over by new owners--hence I prefer paying a season ahead--not just the upcoming season. I will pay on DEC. 1st no matter what any of you do!

We must get this settled early, so people can either move on or be committed and stay. We may have some growing pains, but it will make the league solid. So far the count is 4 people are in favor of paying in December. We will take votes until next Friday, Dec 2 at 12 midnight. At that time the vote will be final.
-
For those on the fence, let me ask what it is about the Ottoneu format that brought them here in the first place. For me, it was the offseason. That's the major difference for me between yahoo type leagues and ottoneu. An active offseason. It's hard to do that well if you don't have a commitment mechanism and that's why so many leagues have trouble staying together and I won't be surprised if it eventually because the default ottoneu rule as it should be.
-
Country Dogs left because he was in too many leagues.
-
I'm fine with paying in December... whatever is best for league continuity.
-
I don't want to be a pay league where people are committed enough to pay up front. I'm already in two leagues where this is standard. It's obviously fine if you guys want a more laid back, passive, free-for-all type league, but count me out if that's the case.
-
Too much has already happened this offseason fro teams that will not / may not even be around. Sorry to be 'dramatic' but it's bullshit.
-
I'm actually in favor of paying fees before arbitration starts, actually.
-
Sorry wrong team--OLD COUNTRY DOGS dropped out
