There is a decent chance that Stanton changes hands tonight or tomorrow morning. Not guaranteed but I have a good offer with an expiration date on it.

I think that may be the first trade I would ever seriously have considered vetoing

Nate, just imagine the type of 'banter' that would go on in this league had that trade gone down here. Woah.

One year ago FMW was sitting in 1st place (finished 7th). Traditionally (http://goo.gl/8Exn1O), it looks like things have stayed tight thru July (assume a race is at least 3 teams), but opens up in August/Sept. Avg. margin of victory in the league: 842

I am in pretty advanced Stanton discussions with two teams. Unlike Kershaw, I am fine with Stanton's 2015 price tag, so I'm not 100% resolved to move him. But he is being discussed.

Huge day for E.P. That Lester trade was one of the best of the year, as he's averaging almost 6 P/IP in EP's rotation since he acquired him. Here's an update on how 3 of the top 4 teams are getting it done with pitching: http://bit.ly/1mH8mG4

Unless OT crushes out of the gate he's probably going back down when Adams comes back. He might dodge Super 2, but it will be close. If he's ready, he's ready though...

Had the same question. Is it really worth the couple of days?
-
Something I found a little quirky: Michael Taylor is affiliated with the MON organization, and Colin Moran is with the FLA organization. I must be out of the loop.
-
Sub question, why game the Super 2 deadline this long and then blow it with likely days to go if you're STL?
-
I'm putting him in my lineup right out of the gate, so I guarantee the Golden Sombrero or 0-1 and lifted for a tweaked ankle
-
Talking Beltre and CarGo with a couple of teams. Not quite ready to part with Kershaw, I don't think.

Moss is really good but he's not *this* good. He's going to hit somewhere between .240 and .260, ultimately. I knew Richards wasn't as good as his stats when I got him, but when you throw 96 with a 60% GB rate...worth investing in, I felt.

14 teams have a P/IP of 6.00 or higher; 5 teams have a P/G of 6.00 or higher. Of the teams at 6,000+ pts, average P/G is 5.26 and P/IP is 5.35

A few interesting notes from the All Leagues FGPoints data Nate sent me today: 16% of teams (156 of 981) have scored 6,000 or more points YTD.

Well, like Durham said, while fun, it's tough to do much meaningful analysis based just on points. I wish rest of the stats were there and we could look at P/G, P/IP, IP pace and the like.
-
Very nice, Nate. If I'm reading this right my takeaway is: 1) Chiefs is on a record pace, and 2) this year's gap between 1st & 2nd is the largest yet.

Unfortunately only the points come through accurately, stats and P/G P/IP are all messed up.

This early in the season, that spreadsheet is a guide, not a rule. It's probably better at telling you if you're out of the race than by how much you're going to win.

In other words, the gap is still within a very reasonable margin of error (for all three of the teams at the top). Avg margin of victory in our league has been 1,000+ pts over last few years, but I expect much tighter this year

Just using my IP advantage of ~ 100 IP vs. Chiefs, at a league average P/IP going forward that still puts me right on top of his points (+- 100). That's awfully close, and his team can improve too; mine is basically at peak performance (especially P/IP).

Or your performance will change materially as your approach the limit. No reason to believe either.
