In the "don't look now" dept and noting due to my public repudiation of the notion but... Luke Voit is a top 35 player and top 25 hitter, and he's the Yankees leadoff hitter today. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Nice buy there, Cerrano. Having cash comes in handy. Always.

I got him in. The Texas pen is better than my fantasy pen.
-
Ah, so this was addressed over in a Community post (the lineups thing, that is). That was fixed. I'm sure a lot of this has some root cause in the chaotic schedule shifts that no one would have anticipated and programmed the interface to handle. Per Niv, the waivers gaps were a DB issue and he's on it.
-
Looks like a rough tech day for ottoneu. Seeing the same glitch with Goody as we saw earlier with Ohtani (and have emailed to follow up). Russell, are you able to get Goody in your lineup (assuming you want that, given the current state of Texas' pen)? Anyone else having the problem Kevin saw with incorrect lineup info?
-
The issue seems to be corrected now, but I would still verify your players are either in or out.
-
FYI fellas, my lineup page is showing numerous players (are not in the lineup) for their teams, when in reality (at lease according to Mlb.com, and Rotowire) are in fact in the lineup. So, you might want to check your squads and see who is actually in the lineup, and who is not.
-
Looks like everything is corrected and up-to-date. Thanks
-
Thanks Kevin, that is weird. It looks like there was some sort of sitewide problem this morning. I've emailed Niv to see if he can fix the "Schrodinger's Ohtani" in our league.

Not sure what's going on with the site, but as of 7:17, the 6:55 Auction didn't go through, and the 7:09 waiver claim didn't process...placing the player in FA instead. Anyone else noticing any issues?
-
Need pitching. Might have a few interesting hitters in the short season. DM if you see anything anything you might like and have decent pitching to spare. Looking for a 1-1 swap or a 2-2 swap. Not a blockbuster. Thanks.
-
Also should note action kicks off with Braves-Mets in about an hour, while Tigers-Reds and Jays-Rays have early first pitch so don't be caught off guard and get those line ups set.
-
And we're off, play ball, etc. Good luck to you all this year, enjoy the extended Opening Day, and let's see what 60 games brings. Then we can enjoy the March Madness-ification of October baseball, perhaps.
-
Here to note we're less than a week from Opening Night; you can use MLB TV to freely binge the weekend slate, minus "regional" rights (so no Yanks/Mets for me, for which I shed no tears). A couple of you (Mike, Andy) haven't been in for a few weeks and another needs to get legal (Miguel), so get at it. Also here to confirm Mookie is indeed a Dodger and you can spend that money earmarked for therapy on NFBC OCs or what have you (Tony or the rest, as it is).
-
I think i just had suppressed memory popup from way back when I was a kid and Mookie Betts got traded to the Dodgers. You guys remember that too or should I call my therapist?
-
We're now two weeks away from the latest Opening Day ever. Most everyone (excepting Tom) has been in recently so this call to post is primarily a formality. Those of you with outstanding cap penalties may want to take the opportunity to re-auction, and please see the linked community topic at the top of the page for collected COVID-19 changes. This 2020 sprint is very much anyone's game, so good luck to each of you and hope to see some fresh activity around here again soon.
-
Hello gentlemen, been a minute... Looks like we have a season, or at least the intention toward one. Niv's set adjusted caps, as well as an interesting mechanism for modified position eligibility (see Community posts, linked in banner). Hope you're all well, post up as you like it, and we'll be off and running in short order.
-
Haha nice. I didn't even know Zimmerman had done that. But still, neither he nor the people in the comments on the original post really attempted to explain Eduardo Escobar

Just stopping in to say I hope everyone is well. Please read Niv's second update on contingencies should the unthinkable immanentize here in 2020; I'd stump for rolling it over to 2021. Good to hear from you all. While one could mourn what would have been our first full weekend of baseball, I'll instead point toward the recent agreements put in place b/w MLB and MLBPA with some hints contained therein toward what could be a truly wild season not any one of us could have anticipated. Hang in there and hopefully we'll have more news in that vein soon enough.

Coronavirus is gonna let us re-auction enough to regain all our wasted cap before the season even starts lol

Not spending too much time looking at my teams these days, but I'm keeping up with the player/league news. Crossing my fingers for a 2020 season in some form or another. Not going anywhere.
-
Hey all I also plan on staying in. If you message me about trading, or propose something it may take me a day or 2 to get back to you though. I'm a dr in NYC so life is just a little crazy right now. Fantasy baseball is a very needed relief so I won't be going anywhere.
-
Thank you, Paul, for the fearless leader flex and the lot of you for the votes of confidence. I'm planning to stay in so long as MLB gives us something with which to keep score, eventually. Please carry on and we'll hope for better days ahead.

Very much would like to keep it open and I plan on keeping my team up and running.
-
This league and fantasy sports in general has been a welcome distraction and I urge all of you to keep it going. The ability to get lost in something that brings normalcy to our lives is going to become more and more important as time moves forward...very therapeutic. MLB will come back, even if it means playing to empty stadiums. I look forward to checking rosters and transactions everyday and I hope you guys do as well. Be safe, stay indoors and show compassion and we'll all get through this.
-
God save Firehouse Roto!
-
I will be continuing to play, and will not be forfeiting my team. Also, I'd vote to keep all transactions up and running as usual. I do find transactions, player scouting, and potential trade opportunities as a fun distraction. I also like having the opportunity to tweak my roster as I get a better feel for other people's squads, and as I continue to navigate the intricacies of this new format and league.
-
3) Please see Niv's Coronavirus update. One knock on is an extended period to cancel leagues. While Firehouse Roto is a longstanding league and I prefer it remain upright, if any of you feel the game has been compromised in some fundamental way that you no longer feel you wan tot take part then please let me know. We have several avenues to resolve this, if anyone feels strongly that they don't see themselves wanting to participate when/if play resumes. This year will be very different.

2) I understand some of you may currently have a lot more on your plate and mind, but I'll ask politely that you refrain from maintaining an illegal roster (mostly too many players) for an overlong period. This is as a nod to fairness and consideration for the rest of the league who are keeping in line.

1) Of all the years we actually get this thing rolled out early... We're obviously in something of a holding pattern here. I'm happy to cary on as such, though there may be some merit to a transactions freeze. Please post up if you feel strongly about leaving this thing open as a much needed distraction, despite what will likely be a lack of actionable news, or to declare a moratorium as a way of leveling the playing field.

Interesting times, no? Haven't much felt like saying anything here lately, but now's probably as good a time as any. Foremost, hope you all are well and doing your best to respond adequately given the current challenges we're all facing re the global pandemic. This is going to be a while. As for our currently unavailable distraction, I'll keep it to three things:

Yeah kind of unreal. Really hope they get all this under control sooner than expected. Opening day WAS supposed to be 9 days from now, oh well, much bigger problems in life for peeps right now (health, money, major inconveniences and disruption in everyday routine etc.) Best wishes to you all and your families through this. Hopefully we'll be back at it quicker than expected. Take care
-
Anyone else feel like they spent so much time on fantasy baseball prep over the last month(s) and now just kinda let down?
