Must be the defense that gets him to that WAR? I tend to forget about defensive value since it’s irrelevant in the fantasy baseball world. He’s certainly not in the top ten realm as a hitter.
-
Yeah, he really dropped off and has only managed to have the 9th highest WAR in the league since joining the Mets. I don't think I am going to be sold on this one.
-
Lindor was great on Cleveland
-
How about the past 3 years in the Mets era? I think some players lose production after signing long term monster deals.
-
Considering he has the 5th most WAR over the last 5 years, I gotta say I'm going to disagree with that take.
-
Lindor is one of the most overrated players in MLB the past five years.
-
Looks like the timing of adding Lindor might have been really good with Correa exiting the game.
-
I think you should collect three more elite shortstops like they're Infinity Stones.
-
Squirrels I can’t believe you won the Lindor draft with your salary! Real life Mets lol. I will be interested in lindor closer to trade deadline if I still have surplus cash.
-
I have three star shortstops now. Happy to keep them all as they especially all help me in OPL, but definitely willing to trade one of Correa, Lindor, or Seager.
-
Too bad Washington nationals aren’t in the NL Central. What is going on in the NL cnetral
-
It's gotten so frustrating along with watching the Twins that a little while ago a screamed F___!!!! after Altuve hit a grand slam today. I know my kids heard me.
-
Sorry for the misunderstanding, and for the record, I most definitely would have sat Stroman. Furthermore this has to be my worst start in starting pitchers throughout my four teams. I sat Manoah and Musgrove just once all year, those starts respectively 53 and 42 points. They have 98 and 88 points respectively all year.
-
That is indeed how I meant it. Just some good ol’ self-depreciating humor to help get me through the season!
-
That is also how I took it, and that's rough but I probably would have sat Stroman as well.
-
I think Tumbelweed was saying don’t feel too bad about rostering and then cutting Paxton because he made a much more egregious roster and then cut of Bryce Miller not long before he broke out. Basically “it could be a lot worse Squirrels” kind of thing is how I took it.
-
I’m pretty sure I just benched the best start I will get all year today, a 1 hit complete game shutout from Stroman. The Rays offense has been so good just didn’t want to risk him getting blown up.
-
I'm confused, we are comparing Bryce Miller's start to James Paxton? Why the regrets Squirrels? I'm sure Repos wouldn't mind trading him to you for a slight premium.
-
That's rough. In all fairness to you though he wasn't off to a good start in AA and don't think anyone saw this kind of first 5 MLB starts coming. Evidenced by the fact that no one claimed him when you cut him. He's looking like this years Strider so far isn't he?
-
Oof yeah I won't complain
-
With all due respect, I drafted Bryce Miller for a dollar in the draft and cut him a week before he came up
-
I hate that I cut James Paxton when I did
-
Thought I took off my bid for Ian Hamilton, oops.
-
Bad week of pitching, Garcia - TJ, Rodon may not pitch this year, Fairbanks the dreaded forearm tightness and Kimbrell has once again caught the yips.
-
Got his first hit, I had the game on at work.
-
It's Mash Mervis time! 🥳
-
Yeah I have Darvish in another league and very glad I sat him.
-
Feels weird to sit Hader and Doval, but I don't want any of my pitchers in the slow-pitch softball game in Mexico today.
-
Yeah I forgot that today's game was happening in Mexico and started Musgrove. Hoping that someone takes a big lead so both Doval and Hader don't have to enter this game.
-
Welp, forgot to take out my Padres relievers for today's game in Mexico.
-
Is anybody interested in one of my low-end bench bats or pitchers for a loan to give me some breathing room? Looking for some room mostly to help me rotate my bench and back-end starters more to help in OPL.
-
Yeah, those sun balls are usually ruled as hits because they're impossible for the fielder as well. I wish baseball introduced some sort of non-hit, non-error ruling for those plays. A normal ruling is not fair on the pitcher or fielder.
-
If happened to catch the Cubs game or highlights the pop up Barnhart hit to Grisham was much more egregious. He was camped under it forever and apparently lost it in the sun and landed a few feet from him but was ruled a hit for some ridiculous reason.
-
I wouldn’t be against if ball is in the air for more than X seconds and turns into a hit counted as an error. But I think it would have to be a high X.
-
According to MLB an error is "A fielder is given an error if, in the judgment of the official scorer, he fails to convert an out on a play that an average fielder should have made. Fielders can also be given errors if they make a poor play that allows one or more runners to advance on the bases." I also don't really like how you can't assume a double play so if it would be "routine" to turn 2 but they only got 1 out even though the infielder badly misplayed it, they still got
-
Yeah that triple was pretty iffy. Statcast has the xBA of that batted ball as .521 but he didn't get in the best position to make a play on a very catchable ball, causing himself to unnecessarily have to jump. I don't really like how errors are scored for OF sometimes. Almost seems like they are never given errors on fly balls if they don't get their glove on it even though it was very routine and poor positioning and route running are the only reason they didn't get their glove on it.
-
NBA, NFL , then MlB is how I would rank leagues in terms of rigging. NBA is near wrestling level. Traveling is legal for certain players and home team gets to play music while away team is on offense
-
Guess MLB is just like the NBA. Stars get the calls. Ohtani hits a deep fly ball and outfielder gets under it and it clunks off his glove - triple. No E. He could hit for the cycle now so gotta keep it alive. Maybe if he fails to hit the HR they’ll change to an E.
-
Of course I sat Yoshida today
-
Looks like I might have cut bait on Suwinski a few days too early. Good process, I should have followed it up with patience. His statcast page is nutty.
-
I sat Ty France against Ohtani but I would be fine if he wanted to still hit a homerun against him.
-
Yeah Yankees/Phillies was pretty good but more of a pitcher's duel. Now I am hoping Trout and Ohtani go off on the Mariners and J-Rod hits nothing but triples against Ohtani (and steals home) to maximize his own scoring and also minimize the hit to my pitcher lol.
-
Just looked up park factors Yankee stadium is actually a neutral stadium overall, but they have a 113 HR factor which is the more important component for Ottoneu.
-
Haha yeah it could happen. Cole and Nola are aces but two good offenses in a hitter friendly park...
-
Let's hope for a high scoring Yankees/Phillies game with a lot of home runs early.
-
Key words "contending team"
-
Haha yeah, so bad I'm not currently a contending team now. Went from 1st place to 6th. I know small sample size but that's a lot of suck for such a small sample.
-
Definitely not a record. I'm almost certain I broke the negative triple digits last year, but that's definitely up there.
-
That is definitely one of the worst days I've ever seen, especially from a contending team.
-
Is -80 points from your pitching staff a record for one day??? What an awful blow lol.
