I think you are giving up on Schultz way too soon. He gets extra scrutiny for being the top LHP prospect and because the white sox present is so bleak that their few top prospects are under the microscope. Even during this messy year, Schultz still has more Ks than innings and has kept his HRs well below 1 per 10. The money part was tough and wish I kept more momey but no competing team can take on Betts salary

I thought the Betts trade in particular was very peculiar. I actually let Chicago have it and told him he would have been better off just cutting Betts than loan his $50+ salary for Schultz that has lost effectiveness on his fastball.

I am high on Schultz and didn't want a sunk cost with past Betts trade. I still am looking to upgrade and compete this year! Big needs are infield and RP

Interesting pair of trades. Second place team trades 3 future guys to Futures for Tucker & Julio. First place team trades away Betts (!) to last year's winner (who has a ton of IP remaining & looks like top contender on standings page) for pitching prospect. Wonder how other contending teams will respond.

Grayson Rodriguez is available for a win now player. I do believe in Grayson and if a lesser win now player have others on the block. It would be so cool to win this year but when you level out innings so many of us are in the race and I have learned too much from being a Chicago baseball fan on the dangers of trading a war a star prospect for a win now player. 3b and SS probably the biggest need but am open

Don't fret Squirrels, one can miss the auction draft and still win the league. But it also does not hurt to commit to a rebuild so you can have a longer run.

Sorry I missed the auction tonight guys. Trying to sell my house and we had an offer sent to us tonight and only had 2 hours to respond so unfortunately has to last minute deal with that instead of making it to the auction. I guess I'm officially forced into rebuild mode for this season!

I do have similar concerns about Bregman, part of why I'm glad it's a short term deal with high AAV instead of a 6-year deal. I still think he can be good enough to make it not a stupid signing.
