Sorry about that, folks. New guys and grumpy billionaires, right?
I'll take Nick Yorke of the Boston farm.

This is understandable. Can you let us know who was cut?
-
Tulsa has informed me he forgot to request to cut two people. Given the strange off-season we’re in, I’m allowing this rather than being stubborn to rules.
Hopefully you all understand.

Bryce, just saw your last message here. Will pick shortly. Please see my previous note. Do you want me to start a group email? I will post pick here regardless.
-
Are we supposed to be drafting today, right? Maybe Bryce is expecting us to get this draft underway without him chaperoning due to the new job? I found Bryce's group email from last year and could get the ball rolling with a new group email if we wanted to do that. I just would need to get email addys for Austin Jackalops and Tulsa Tinypeople because I don't think either were in the league for MiLB Draft last year. Also need to confirm email addys for BangTD and Canucks. Let me know.

While Jackalopes are enjoying their wedding anniversary today, he sent me his first pick of

One last note from our Charter regarding eligibility:
The following players are INELIGIBLE for the 5MiLB draft:
Unsigned (amateur or foreign) players
Players with MLB experience (1 PA or IP)
Any player that is currently on another team in the league (either MLB roster or MiLB roster)
International Players who signed MLB Contracts
If you are not sure, please search Players in Ottoneu, select level "ALL" and do a search, they'll sh
-
Google Docs and Restricted Players are updated. You still can contact me if you want to drop someone, but it has to be tonight, hopefully before I go to bed (around 11pm CT)
-
Whatever everyone agrees on, I'll be fine with the decision. Thanks for listening.
-
I wouldn't be opposed to having two drafts. One in Feb, one post-MLB draft. Would also allow you to drop players 2x a year. Something we can discuss.
I think for this year, we should keep MiLB draft as planned, but would be open to adding a 2nd meeting as soon as this summer.
-
You'd have to drop him if he couldn't reach a deal with his club. I'd rather have a later MiLB and give the teams at the bottom of the previous year's standings a shot at a game-changing player than have that player open to be picked up by any team through the FA pool.
-
Yeah. I think that would be fun. We could have it immediately after the MLB draft. Ottoneu doesn't input players until they've officially signed a contract, but we don't need Ottoneu's help since you handle it all (no idea how you do it, but know you're the most active commissioner of any league in which I've participated and I highly appreciate that). If you get stuck with a guy like Kumar Rocker—and he doesn't sign—that's too bad. 1/2
-
Or are you saying move the MiLB draft completely to after MLB draft in June/July instead of having it in February?
-
First - easiest way to track rosters is on Google Docs. That's a living/breathing document, so bookmark it and reference when you have questions
Second - I have created a rule in another league that MLB Drafted players (actual MLB Draft in June/July) are not allowed to be auctioned off, and can only be added by draft following year.
As of now, we'll keep it as-is, but I'd love to hear from any other owners with their thoughts/opinions.
-
That way, teams at the bottom (in the previous season) would have the first chance to snap up the No. 1 overall pick (or whomever). As it stands, studs who are MLB-drafted in the middle of the year can be put on our 40-man rosters, which negates some of the benefits for lower-standing teams. I love the MiLB system we have, but I think we should move it. 2/2
-
I totally get that. I just think, at least for me, there's a ton of confusion about who is and isn't rostered, etc. I know several owners and I have wondered about making certain trades but have completely forgotten who is on our MiLB roster. If we want to make things more exciting, we could have the MiLB draft after MLB's amateur draft. 1/2
-
Appreciate the idea, but the reason why the MiLB draft is BEFORE the MLB draft is to help those teams in the lower part of the standings, helps them rebuild. With the MiLB portion after it would leave very little and would not help the parity of the league. Also, once the MiLB draft is finished, all players will be added back to restricted list, helping understand who is still available for the MLB portion.
-
We also wouldn't have to keep tabs on some players who are bumped from MiLB to MLB, just because they'll already be on the 40-man roster. Just some thoughts to consider. 2/2
-
Just throwing this out there: I think it would be best for the league if we moved the MiLB draft to after the league auction. This could be a day later or a month later or whenever. I think it would make teams have to choose whether to pay at auction for a MiLB player, or take a risk and see if they can get that player in the draft. I think it would add more strategy (and, selfishly, it would make it a little easier to track which great MiLB players have been rostered. 1/2

Please look over MiLB Rosters one last time. If you don't contact me by 11:59 ET, I'm assuming you're keeping everyone. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17ENmr1NdmRb5QNuao8IS5VCCBWo7S49crRt9fN1ndxY/edit?usp=sharing

Open to trades before tomorrow's deadline. Let me know if you need a reliever, or have cap space for a stud.

Done.
MiLB roster is Austin Martin and Ronny Mauricio
-
Please drop Alexander Canaria and Geraldo Perdomo. Josias Gray is no longer on my roster, I traded him.

I'm looking to trade Goldschmidt, Kershaw and Zunino. I'm looking for a back-end SP or some decent reserve hitters. I'll consider all serious offers.
-
Goldschmidt is available.

I have under $10 good bullpen depth and am looking to trade for some similar outfield depth.
