It took about 5 straight bad years and a strike to drive down attendance for the Cards in the early 90s, it's the Lou guys, there isn't anything else to do.
-
2007 Cardinals (3rd place, attendance highest ever at 3.5 million); last Pirates division winner drew 1.8 million - it is a different baseball culture in the two cities
-
they'd still get 3 million
-
their new Dynamic Pricing won't help matters either. $85 bleacher tickets to see the Cubs? F that noise.
-
I don't know, if the Cards had another season like they did in 2007, I would imagine that attendance would be pretty sparse. You can't deny winning helps.

Listings, that's funny. I'd also like to point out that I'm joking (and embarrassed) about the fans showing up to Ballpark Village to watch the game.
-
LOL at Listings!!!!! That is SO TRUE!!!!!
-
I am now a long-time Cardinals fan, but I grew up in Pittsburgh as a Pirates fan. Anyone in Pittsburgh talking about attendance must acknowledge that half of the Pirates crowd is there because they are hoping a Steeler throws out the first pitch.
-
And the Cubs. But that is more about drinking than baseball.
-
I was in Chicago and stopped by to see the White Sox. It was dead. St. Louis really has something special. Probably just St. Louis and Boston as true baseball cities. Even the Dodgers and Yankees draw blanks when they are bad.
-
I think 15,000 Cardinals fans showed up to Ballpark Village just to watch the game on the big screen!
-
WEAK!!
-
9,999? Try 20,450 fans on a Wednesday night when the last place Cubs are in town.
-
By "we", you mean you and the other 9,999 fans that show up to home games?
-
No structural damage means he can still life 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
-
Ha Ha! All these Cardinals fans are scared that Wainwright might be out! And, the Buccos have their 2 best pitchers on the DL, and we're ecstatic that we are only 2.5 games behind the Redbirds considering how awful we have played. Go Bucs!
-
Well it's a good thing the Cardinals front office never underestimates the severity of injuries, so I'm sure he's totally fine
-
He had an MRI. No structural damage, whatever that means.

I've got Darvish on the block. Would be looking for young IF or OF. I know Yu would be huge to some teams who are on the cusp!

I am open to trade SP for OF. Any pitcher I have is available.
