BTW, kudos to Mxyztplk for his aggressive move up the standings!
-
lol alton. Hey I'm all for full disclosure - whats fun about beating teams that don't know the rules! Seriously don't worry Listings, like Alton said as long as you reach your IP cap it really won't matter much anyway - all about the quality of each IP
-
... removing ankle weights ... here I come
-
Ouch! Well cheer up - it can only get better from here! Doing well for a first timer - a lot to learn, especially in this format.

we should have kept our mouths shut

Wow. Wow. I've been screwing myself! Wow! (This is my first time doing any kind of fantasy league, so I guess I lack context.)
-
To the extent that rule may not be explicit I would simply say that that is the way it is in any fantasy league/sport. Bench players never count for points. Your misunderstanding does explain a lot about your low IP to date though.
-
yep, on the bench no points
-
To be clear, is this the rule: if the player was on the bench, no points? Does that apply to all types of players - SP, RP, and hitters? I only found a rule about not miscategorizing SP/RP.
-
Your Points per IP and Points per Game are near the top of the league. If you get your IPs and Games Played numbers up, you should be near the top of the standings.
-
I have read the rules many times, finding nothing about bench players not counting for points. I believe you, especially given what happened yesterday, but I really wish I knew that months ago!
-
too*
-
That's what I am seeing to Alton
-
Listings, it looks like those SPs were on the bench. Could be wrong.
-
Is anyone else noticing a failure to update the data on the standings? I had 3 starts go last night, but my innings pitched and points haven't changed since about dinner time last night.
-
Shooting Ropes's trade block has been updated!
-
Alton, I am
-
Yeah all cap penalties and traded dollars go away
-
What happens to our cap penalties at the end of the season? Do they get erased?

Levy, Goodman, Loblaw & Hutz's trade block has been updated!
-
Not me, but if that person exists give me a hollar!
-
anybody willing to trade RP
-
If anyone has a dislike for a particular MLB player and wants to put a hex on him, just trade him to me.

How bout a tip of the cap to our friend Bluth who's Kris Bryant got called up today!
-
Feel like trading. Got SPs for outfield help.
-
Thanks for the tip, I was just about to start an auction for him
-
Tony Gwynn just died.
-

-

Oh snap!
-
They play 164 games a season now?
-
I was hoping he would get his price cut first...
-
Why certainly, I'll be happy to take a 25 year old power hitting catcher who plays 82 games at altitude.

Why all the young guy hate? Was that a popeye reference Alton? Now THAT makes you old! haha. Nice chart btw.
-
Ozzie Canseco was another one. A lot of muscle, but no power.
-
he had some sweet jheri curl though!
-
Felix Jose. That's a name from the past. He looked like Hercules, but had the power of Olive Oyle.
-
Bucs... I was one :)
-
I remember sitting in the bleachers at Busch Stadium for $4 in 1990 watching Ray Lankford, Bernard Gilkey and Felix Jose patrol the outfield. And, the college kid here probably wasn't even born yet.

Found this. Actually Pittsburg surprises me according to this. http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-mlb-per-capita-attendance-2013-8
-
In Pittsburgh, you go to a Pirates game because the Steelers and the Penguins are not in season. But, its starting to change. Last year when the Pirates were in the playoffs was amazing, especially the game when Johnny Cueto dropped the ball.
-
It took about 5 straight bad years and a strike to drive down attendance for the Cards in the early 90s, it's the Lou guys, there isn't anything else to do.
-
2007 Cardinals (3rd place, attendance highest ever at 3.5 million); last Pirates division winner drew 1.8 million - it is a different baseball culture in the two cities
-
they'd still get 3 million
