NGB, we scored 203,241.2 points last year, and this year are on pace for approximately 209,525 (I used the Braves schedule—they’ve played 132 games—to estimate how much of the season is left). This suggests the ball has helped Otto scoring more than it has hurt. Which makes some sense to me when I think about who we play and who we leave on the wire. But there might be something different about September games that changes this, be interesting too look again at final results.

I have an open floor discussion, since I've started , ss/2b/mi has seen a plethora of great call ups that are impactfull, and more are on the way. Has OF surpassed SS/2B for positional value/need ?
-
Although what's everyone's thoughts on net effect of juiced baseballs in ottoneu? Since HR penalty, -14.9 pts, is greater than HR reward +14 pts., do juiced balls actually make it more difficult to challenge the 21K record?
-
Much respect for Kevin's accomplishments, particularly his 21K pts. w/o benefit of juiced baseball. Stats and I, w/ juiced baseballs will both have failed to even come close to threatening that Ruthian total points record!!
-
An alliance? I guess I discarded the Conspiracy team name too soon, I thought we were all past that. Tron and I both just like to trade a lot (with everyone). It's a long season, and both Tron and I are easily bored, trades spice things up.
-
You deserve a round of applause for going all in, which is hard/painfull to do. Not sure I could have done it
-
Proportions*
-
Cotton deserves a hand of applause keeping you honest or you may have been able to keep more prospects and become a dynasty of kevin like proportilns
-
2 trades vs 6 , not comparable, plus you two have well known alliance like North Korea and china
-
Also, the race is NOT OVER, Cotton still has a shot. Yes, I'd rather be in my position than his position right now, but this is baseball, far more severe odds have been overcome... that's what makes the game so great (although I might alter that view if he does overcome the odds and I have to go thru that agony).
-
Be careful throwing stones if you live in a glass house, I received $95 in loans from gunga dinn and $94 in loans from you!!
-
You made a mockery of this league before mid April, Cotton was cool to give you a decent 4 month run
-
What about thanks to your grinning lackey gunga dinn you traded 5 x with to start the season?
-
The payroll push is really just a silly diversion for my own personal entertainment... I paid my money and I want my money's worth of entertainment!
-
Nothing that complicated Brew. My observations led me to conclude that (1) team building is a viable strategy to (2) get your team to the day that you must flip the switch to playing like there's no tomorrow (because of the absence of any meaningful payroll cap). Thanks goes to Gravy for the team building part of that and thanks goes to Kloobs for the forget about tomorrow part of that. I've had good teachers. Wish I could claim an original concept, but I can't... just pushed the limits.
-
This season has been a travesty, which I kind of think was your point
-
Giving VanMeter a chance today to make me regret trading him for nothing more than being able to say I topped the $1100 payroll mark... damn near 25% of the entire league's cap space!!
-
Yeah, House Stark is mine. Made a lot of terrible moves in the last few weeks to try and win a league instead of finishing 2nd nearly across the board
-
Not if I keep trying to over-think things. Benched Sanchez and Didi last night because they were facing Ryu, and sure enough they hit 3 HRs between them.
-
League record for team HR is 360. Ngb is currently at 344 and will obliterate that
-
Among the 50 best global FG Pts teams, the second highest payroll is $720. That team's name is House Stark, so it did make me wonder if that might be one of Kloobs' other teams?

Quintana's first start in an NGB uniform isn't going so well. Good thing I didn't need the innings.
-
Super cool to have a bat with Hurricane Hazel's replica signature on it, along with the replica signatures of all the '57 Braves who were under contract with Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Louisville Sluggers and the printed names of all the other player and coaches also embossed on the bat.
-
Good memorabilia day. Finally acquired a 1957 Milwaukee Braves World Series "black bat". I've been looking to get one of these for about a decade. They're not that expensive (<1K), but there just aren't many of them. One was made for each player and staff member of the championship team, so maybe something like 50 of them exist. Mine doesn't come with a certificate of who's it was, so probably was the one given to the clubhouse man or some other non-player.

And Kevin wins the Vaughn sweepstakes
-
Yes, the Nats have been pounding the ball lately. It’s much more fun watching them now than early in the season.
-
First class ass kicking, 11 hits and counting wow
-
Wind BLowing IN
-
Nats are in all black unis
-
Going to Cubs game, look for pics in your email boxes , ill zoom in on Robles

NGB: I always do my fantasy rooting at a neutral field. Not at Fenway. I went down to New York in the Spring to see a Yankees-Rays game and rooted like hell for my fantasy guys. Of course, that works best if you don't have a pitcher in the game.

Go Rockies!!
-
Cubs sweep
-
CUBS WIN 1 to 0, wind was blowing IN
-
So if you listen well you can hear me
-
Yes im.that guy at game you wish would get ejected
-
I'm going to Cubs vs Nats tomorrow (mikey was invited) . 6th row behind Nats bench. I'll be in Bryant Jersey and will have black raybans on. I will also be the one loudly heckling Davey martinez. YOU PORKED SANDBERGS WIFE !!
-
Davey Martinez has me so spooked, I decided not to trust Joe Maddon either and took Kimbrel out of my lineup today. Looks like today's Cubs game might be another close one... please tell me that you're confident that if a save situation arises Joe won't pitch Kimbrel a third day in a row.
-
Maria thought I was getting a little bit too excited when Story would HR at Rockies v. Braves games we were attending. She also thought it was weird that I would go to said games wearing a Rockies Descalso jersey and a Braves cap! Speaking of which, already have my ticket for the Braves v Rockies make-up game at Coors Field this coming Monday.
-
I also pull for white Sox young guys as I've liked what they have done building
-
I root for Cubs over my players , but don't mind a dejong HR if Cubs ar ed say ahead or way behind
-
Brew, Was just checking. Maria says that FB has totally corrupted me as a Braves fan... that I don't always root strictly for Braves' best interests over my FB team's best interests anymore (actually I'm usually trying to have it both ways; if I have hitters in my line-up on the team opposing the Braves, then I'm rooting for a 10-9 Braves win w/ a couple HRs from the bad guys). Just curious to see how corrupted you had become.
-
Giants play hard and are scrappy bunch, not a roll over like Miami
-
Oh shut up , I hope he hits 15 hr or more in September.
-
Brew, Did you welcome Bryant's HR last night, or were you cursing because it wasn't a double?
-
Dominating savd Kimbrel
-
Villar is doing just enough to make me think about keeping him, even though it seems he is every other year type. He is the sort nobody will give you anything for, but if dropped , at least 4 would put claim in on
