Dahl currently at 374 ABs
-
I believe Buxton is brittle but will tantalize with 6 weeks here and 6 weeks there with great fantasy numbers. Highly doubt him or Dahl will ever get 300 at bats in a season
-
Robles reminds me of Rondell White ,also an Expo
-
Bonus!! Speaking of Dansby he's in today's lineup. Is this his first game back?
-
I'd say anyone who still believes in Buxton should also believe in Robles. I personally still believe in both.
-
The eternal risk and a tough call to make. Toronto is a mini Houston with the waves of impact youth they are streaming up
-
IMHO, now would be exactly the time to trade Bo... you'll never again get as much for him as you will now.
-
And what do you see Vic Robles becoming ?
-
That's my line ngb.
-
I know this is not going to be popular in the midst of Bo's big splash, but long-term I don't see him being anything better than Dansby.
-
kevin has amassed some talent , but would probably like bichette back
-
have the rockies thrown in the towel?? i really wanted them to beat st louis
-
good scouting NGB , I feel the best trades at this point of the season are the ones you dont make. Someone offered multiple times on belinger and robert recently , would be sheer folly to move them unless like tier guys were involved , such as Soto and Adell
-
I will very likely not be in the mix next year, but I appreciate the vote of confidence. I time my rebuilds around avoiding Gravy and Kloobs' good years.
-
I'm liking the over/under pegged at 13 runs for the Braves v. Rockies game today since I have 4 hitters in that game.
-
Stats is probably going to be in the mix again too.
-
Nats had so many seeing all singles and swinging bunt hits, but they also stole bases like crazy and then got timely clutch hitting . So Nats had good fortune and also made their own. Wind blowing in all weekend aids the small ball fast teams, and as the Cubs announcers lamented, DC has 3 (4 if you count Kendrick) lead off hitters and Cubs have none. If i had known weather conditions would have laid some money down on a sweep . DC exposed the Cubs most glaring weaknesses
-
I think we're going to see an epic race to $600 in this league next season. I peg Brew, Black Sox, House Buehler, and Bat all ripening at the same time... gonna be fun to watch.
-
Anyone else noticed that Gravy's two seasons of team building appears to be ripening. His past 30-day points total is in contender territory.
-
I heard this morning that the Nats are in the midst of their best 80-game run in franchise history. Given that, I'm sort of surprised they're not closer to first place than they are. So take solace Cubs fans, your team just ran into a very hot team. The series sweep says more about the Nats than it does about the Cubs.

Lot less activity and offers in capped as well
-
I recieve better more balanced offers in capped than I do here
-
That was precisely the intent of the carry over loan penalties, to give us an incentive not to monkey with it before we can see how it plays out.
-
I can't see going to a $400 hard cap in the other league without rebooting it. The roster building strategy would be radically different than our current rules. I would also strongly opposed rebooting the league at this point. To me the intent was to run it out as constructed for MORE THAN ONE SEASON, to see if it made a meaningful difference to the competition or made for a more enjoyable format.
-
I think the other lead has played out like many of us thought it would because the cap isn’t “hard enough.” I like the idea of one “hard” and one “soft” cap league.
-
I think we should see if Capped actually worked the way we hoped it would before adopting its rules here. I don’t think it has—there doesn’t seem to be a lot more competition in the mid levels than we see here. Partly this mighty be because we (except Kevin) don’t know how to play in that league yet—I get some bizarre trade offers that make no sense in a league where more of us are supposed to be competing—so it’s worth not giving it up yet, but so far I think it’s pretty dull.

I support NGB’s proposal (sort of). I don’t really care which league has no loans and which has the $500 hard cap.
-
Seems to me if we're going to go to a $400 hard cap we should try it in the other league, and transfer the other league's current rules to this league. Then we still have a league with modest level of loan activity allowed, but paired with a hard cap.
-
Is there any difference between a no loans rule and a $400 hard cap?
-
I have a good chance of seeing Freddie cross the 1,000 pt. threshold in today's game at Coor's Field. If he does, do you think they'll stop the game and retrieve the ball for him? LOL
-
I really like the hard cap. It requires win-now managing to get more creative, and I think shakes loose more players in cap-impacting deals. I'd be happy to add a hard cap to this league or even a no-loans rule. I haven't played in a no-loans league, but some people in the Ottoneu community seem to really like it.

Mikey, Isn't the other league already a hard cap league, with a hard cap of $500?
-
Brew, that’s pretty impressive (in the wrong way) when you consider Schwarber has hit lead-off in about 45% of their games and has a respectable .337 wOBA in those games.

NGB, agree with both: more points in a lower-scoring environment, very impressive, and we *should* use the guys hitting the HRs but less so the guys throwing them, so we should net more points from the juiced ball.

You’re right Mikey, Phillies or Brewers could still catch them. But I think they’ll make it. And they’ll beat the Cubs. Dodgers, though, I don’t know. I might give them a better chance than the Braves would have against the Dodgers. (And I know, Braves and Nats play 7 more times, anything can still happen in the NL east...but I’d rather be 6 games up than 6 games back).

Nats sweep, sweet; Bats, don’t put the Nats in the wild card game just yet (though I do admit those damn Braves keep annoyingly winning); I think this league would be better if we didn’t allow loans. I know at least one other owner agrees, and based on today’s conversation i’m Willing to bet two do. Perhaps we should consider making the other league a hard cap league?
-
Ngb, based upon what you just said, if salaries are similar wouldn't Robels be ever so slightly more valuable than Bichette ?
-
Kevin's season was one for the ages. very improbable that its replicated
-
OFs have always been a tighter market than MI just based on the league needing a ratio of 5:3 compared to the mlb supply of 3:2.
-
Bat, So my original thought that Kevin's 21K season was all the more impressive for when he did it holds up. Makes sense from m perspective that we differentially roster guys who are better than average at hitting and preventing (Verlander aside) HRs, so the ratio of HRs hit to allowed probably goes up w/ juiced ball. This, net gain in pts scored.
-
Cubs are 30th in league for OBA out of lead off poistion... .286 oba !
-
Some answer my OF vs Mi question please
-
Cubs are poor situational hitting team , and DC is superlative at that.
-
Come on Cubs. Is it really too much to ask you to take 1 game out of 3 with the Nats, at home, when you get to face Ross and Anibal (and miss Max and Corbin)? At least the Braves can win their own games. Good luck in the wild-card game, vs Max @DC.

Well, you missed the obvious thing, that 2018 wasn’t like 2019 (HRs went down between 2017 and 2018), but if you want the strict comparison 201,301 points in 2016.

The Nationsls have led going into the 8th inning in 19 straight games! 14 and 4 with today's outcome undecided
-
Bat, Unless I'm missing something you've provided one actual outcome and one projected outcome, but both for juiced ball seasons. Missing piece is the league total pts in Kevin's epic season. I'm on a bike ride or I'd provide that piece myself.
