As a reference, you can create a replacement team right now worth 5808 pts. That would put the four bottom teams in the league below that threshold, with Sam closing on it.

An alternative is to have a minimum points threshold, based on about what someone would score with a replacement-level roster if they set their lineup every day. If people are below that number, they pay some kind of penalty.

(sorry I have no idea why that reposted.) I'm fine with that, seems like a confusing structure but I'm up for whatever makes people pay attention
-
Guess the question is what counts as good performance/bad performance? I was very realistic that I was going to win this year, but I have built a pretty solid core of youngsters I'm waiting on. Does me dealing for future, therefore gaining less points, count as poor performance? Am I penalized for planning for future? All I really care about is participation and to somewhat keep up with it. Everyone is busy, but everyone has 5 minutes a 2-3 days a week to check in. Don't think that's crazy toask
-
If everyone pays in $50, here is the reward structure that would work: 1st place - $300; 2nd place - $150; 3rd-5th place - $50; 6th-10th place - $0; 11th-12th place - Must pay $100 if they wish to play again the next year. If one does, the 3rd place team that next year gets an extra $50, and if they both do, the 6th place team that next year gets their $50 refunded.

maybe we could have very last place pay something to the winner (starting next season) that way, you fight not to get last.

I'm okay to pay more, I figured a $25 fee for our league, plus the $10 Ottoneu registration fee would be enough, but I definitely think it would help
-
(2) We need a reward structure that incentivizes participation for the whole year, even when you're eliminated from contention. This can either be rewards of some type for good performance, or a punishment for poor performance.

Proposals for improving the league going forward: I don't want to wait until the offseason to talk about this stuff, bc it always gets pushed aside until next year.
1. We need to charge to play. I'd be willing to go as high as $150, but even $50 would be a positive move. (Not just because I always win and want to get rich--just to encourage more participation and increase the stakes.)

I Saw This Tree But It Was A Dragon's trade block has been updated!

I put Ryan in a much better position than Sam- I have sent sam upwards of 40 facebook messages and he has yet to review a trade haha
-
(i'll hush now, sorry for spamming everyone's inbox with message board posts!) /end rant
-
...sigh. at this point, that's all I've got. It has been three months man. But whatever, see ya in a few weeks when we are halfway through the season after trying to get any type of response for the last two. Again, all we ask is to check it once, twice a week. I can 100% (even as much as I sucked at college) tell you that almost anyone has time to look at a webpage for 5 minutes a couple times a week. Just so frustrating it happens every time. At least I wasn't the one who brought it up!
-
And sorry I haven't responded to the trades, my issue is I don't know the current prospects very well and haven't had time to look them up/evaluate the trade at all. I know I should've at least gotten on here and said it. But like I said, once I'm finished with my pharmacy stuff after next week I'll 100% keep up with it.

Sorry guys, my bad. Just graduated and now I've been studying for my board exams so haven't gotten any chances to get on here lately. I swear this year is by far the worst I've ever been at checking fantasy baseball, and once I take my exams next week I'll be good to go. Give me 2 weeks and I'll be in it.
-
well every other time I've tried to make the request I get ignored so I guess it wouldn't be too different. Worst part is they both get email notifications of these posts and STILL do nothing
-
what if they never reply to this message? lol
-
So Sam/Ryan/anyone else who would like to bow out...we'd appreciate it
-
I've also got another who would actually be really good. He gets obsessed over fantasy sports
-
we have at least one who wants in and would be active...all I need is for Sam/Ryan to say the word and we can make it happen. But I've been on this rant for at least a year and nothing has changed so who knows

Simon's Schmekels 's trade block has been updated!
-
we should just say last place gives the first place winner like 15 bucks haha
-
I think we could just ask people if they want to, lol It seems both of them dont really care. Maybe by asking them they'll start to pay attention

It looks like Sam could possibly get quit a few points, so it would not solve it completely. So I don't know.

Don't know if this would completely solve the problem, but some leagues have a minimum points scored limit. If a team does not meet the minimum points required (usually around 14,000) then the league has the ability to vote whether that player gets to come back the following year.

Maybe we should have a check-in and see if a couple people in the league even want to play in it anymore. theres a couple lineups who havent been changed in weeks. It's one thing to purposely tank it in order to get waiver priority, and be actively trying to trade for younger cheaper talent, but when you don't do any of those things then maybe we should find other people to play?

Everyone - I'm aware I'm still a year away from my prospects (finally) coming up to make a difference. With this thought in mind, it's June and it's time to open up trading. All of my higher priced guys are available for young, keeper type players. Have several who could help those making runs at it this year.

I've got a glut at 1b/Util. As such, I'd like to trade one of Prince Fielder, Freddie Freeman, Brandon Belt, and Alex Rodriguez.

Yeah, that's just in case he picks up an extra IP in an extra-innings game. If I have empty RP spots I stick a starter in there. It has netted me probably 20 pts in 2 years, but I still do it.

You have Richards as a RP as well.
