Nice response. I think what frustrates me the most is that I'm not even surprised, as he hasn't ever been entirely active anyway. But he gets emails with notifications about this discussion, trade requests, etc and he still doesn't say a thing. That's just being a jerk to put it honestly. It takes 5 minutes to login and respond, that's it, yet he won't even do that. He has some solid pieces, and some depth that he could play with, but he does absolutely nothing.
-
(Further, this isn't a vote to keep Sam in. I only sympathize with him not checking it given his position in the standings. I'm fine bringing someone else in if we think the problem is larger than that or is independent of his place in the standings)
-
That being said, I check my team multiple times per week and think I've put a competitive team out there. And I also share in frustration when people commit to being in a league without following through. I'm just saying there is a reason why there is some disconnect in my opinion.
-
I think H2H is a much better format and would largely fix this problem. I agree it may add a bit more of an element of luck, but honestly I can't compete with the amount of effort some of you all put in to this league. If that disqualifies me, feel free to kick me out as well.
-
Personally I don't blame him for not checking his team. When you get down in this league, what's the point? It's virtually impossible to mount a comeback. There's no incentive to finish high or low if you don't finish first. I agree that he should be responding to trades, but this league really is hard to care about if you're losing or out of the race.
-
I'm not inclined th change owners midseason, for what it's worth.
-
We have 4 votes (assuming Andrew is on board with it as he's the one who mentioned it), how many more do we need for you to approve the move?
-
...I mean anything at this point. We have a member who literally does nothing in the league and won't even respond to friends in the league. There is no real purpose that he's still in it, so can we move on and get someone who would be active? The worst part is that he has a decent team and is just being wasted. If we move now, we can find someone who is active and they can make some moves if they'd like before the deadline in August. I don't think that's too crazy of an idea
-
What do you want me to say?
-
Ben can we at least get a comment/ruling on this? I know he's your brother, but it has gotten pretty ridiculous and there is no reason for him to be in the league at this point.
-
I am fine with it if there is a majority vote. If we do go that route, I think we should have the rules for next year established. By rules, I mean like whether we are going to have buy ins or incentives. I would hate to bring someone on board and then they quit when the structure changes.

I fully support that idea as long as we use the runner-up from the last vote to replace him.

Can we all vote to replace Sam mid season?

What am I supposed to do all day at work now that I cant spend hours determining who to put in my lineup and who to bench?
-
Feel free.

In my case I'll put down only $4. Win him and then trade him to you since you are willing to pay that much for him.
-
I'll lay my cards on the table: I put $4 on him. If anyone wants him, feel free to throw $5 down and he's yours.

what do you bet DK bids like 14 dollars on Fulmer?

Mesoraco is out for the season. If anyone is looking for a catcher keeper for next year, I'd trade him for a piece that helps me this year.

He called me on May 14th.

I tried texting and facebook messaging him lol

Dear Sam-
Please quit even though I know you won't and will maintain 4 starters on the DL and not respond to trade rumors ever.
Love,
Jonathan

HEY SPOM0 WHERE ARE YOU?!

So just so everyone's aware. Ben made the change to the cap penalties, taking $2 off my penalty for Brett Anderson. Not sure how that will affect his minimum bid or not as the game currently says he's "on waivers" even though he doesn't show up on the waiver list. Not sure how that aspect will play out, but I want everyone to be on the same page about it.

Ok, so Ben pushed it through AND Nick accepted the trade, haha. So, who knows what will happen in a couple of days. I'm willing to wait and see. Hopefully it fixes the money component (Ben can't move money around). If it doesn't, he can adjust cap penalties to change our budgets accordingly. If it messes stuff up, he can adjust the rosters and cap penalties accordingly when it's processed. Just making sure everyone knows what's happening so it's all above the board.

I say just push it through. It would have already processed and wasn't our fault.

I have no issue at all, trade was accepted and assuming no one had an issue (since we haven't had a trade vetoed in quite a while). I say go for it.
-
Hi everyone. So Nick accepted my trade three days ago, but because of the database error (ugh), the acceptance was nullified. Nick said he would accept it again, but he hasn't yet (he's probably busy), and if there are no objections, I'd like for Ben to force the trade through, since it would have been completed by now. The trade was Garrett Richards and Marco Gonzalez for Yasmani Grandal and Jose Berrios, with $2 coming my way. Anyone have a problem with that?

If by chance we add a buy in amount, I wanted to go back to something I mentioned a month or two ago. How we could do a prospect draft outside Ottoneu. I did not push it earlier on because I figured if we could not get some to look at their teams much less a seperate prospect list. But if it is a buy in where people are spending money, it might be something people might pay attention to more. If that is something people are interested in I re explain it. Just let me know.

I have been thinking as well about Loans. Not sure how this would change year to year strategy, but I thought about making a hard cap at maybe $450 or $475. So essentially one team could not rack up a ton of players by people just sending loans. Not that I think it has been a huge problem or I feel cheated in past years, but I just thought it would possibly change some strategy.

I am all for making this a pay league. I like the idea of some sort of penalty for those in last place or some sort of incentive for them to continue trying.
