i feel ya-some of the prices seemed ridic. but thats part of the game.
-
Way too high... I know I got overly caught up in it! (first timer)
-
Didn't speak up because I was in between birthday parties and purchasing a new car. My cell phone is good, but it did not like the Ottoneu system. Not too worried though. Most of the auctions went too high, too quickly.

Schpiel... Diel... I couldn't resist.
-
Has anyone emailed Schpiel yet to see what's the diel? It would suck to be down a man before the season starts. Then we can figure out if we need another manager or not.
-
Any chance we can finish this draft on wed night? I'll stay up as late as possible! Two upcoming drafts + various other things complicate my schedule after this weekend.
-
HA!!! Pickoff Psychosis categorically loves pairs!
-
Orange, we talked about it during the auction, why didn't you speak up? What's the earliest on Tuesday you can guarantee your availability?
-
Tough times for peeps on the west coast. I'll try.

Pickoff does everything twice -- posts, drafts Hanley Ramirez... ;)

so, what time is start up on wednesday?
-
I don't think anyone knows Schpiel. If you're out there, and visiting this page, please let us know, dude!
-
So how do we join the auction?
-
Extremely excited for 15 hours from now. Everyone but The Schpiel Throwers has confirmed. Does anyone know him or her?
-
can't wait!
-
i'm down for tomorrow at 4, and a second session anytime this week in the evening would work for me.
-
Bit more than 24 hours away, here's hoping everyone can make it. Set in stone at this point. I agree that a big part of auction is uncertainty.
-
Understandable. I didn't really expect it to be a popular option, just thought I'd throw it out there.
-
(cont'd from below)... Everyone is going into it in the same position. We all have to make certain assumptions and do research without knowing exactly how it will play out on draft day.
-
Hmm... I understand the thought but to be honest I think doing that would take away many of the aspects inherent in doing an auction draft. The whole idea is that you have to adjust on the fly, read other managers, and make quick decisions.... (cont'd)
-
(cont'd from below) ... how anyone values players and intends to spend their budget, and I feel like someone could really suffer by going in with certain assumptions and having to re-evaluate on the fly. Just an idea...
-
I may be in the minority on this, but I actually would prefer to go a shorter length this Sunday just to get started, and then have time to refine strategy once we see how things are going. Reason being that none of us really know.... (cont'd)
-
I am good with Sunday at 4 ET. Also don't mind going 3 or 4 hours if that's what it takes to finish in one day. Monday might be tough for me, but Tues or next Sun is good should it take 2 days.
-
I'll be there!

I believe the positional eligibility can be found in the league rules, which are located somewhere on the home page.
-
4 ET here too. I am fine for the following sunday as well, if that is when we continue the draft.
-
Sunday 4 ET I'll be here ready to go.
-
Time should work for me.
-
Does anyone know where to find a list of position eligibility for this league? Only thing I've been able to try is searching in the auction draft room, but that's tedious.
-
Yes, everyone, please confirm your acceptance of Sunday at 4pm EST for our auction. We will go as long as we want, but at least 2 hours.
-
Or that person would end up with a drastically different strategy. I'm in. Is there a set time to wrap things up as well? 2 hours? 3 hours?
-
It seems to have disappeared, or at least I can't see it. Is everyone confirmed for sunday? It would kind of ruin it if even 1 person didn't show.
-
that is an excellent question. I can't find a way to cancel it, but it'll either go away on its own or I'll remove him from wherever he winds up. Min bid $1 seems to indicate no one's bid yet.
-
Why is there a Danny Valencia auction up?
-
4pm EST 3/6 it is. I think continuation should be the following weekend, rather than during the week, if no one objects.
-
I'm fine with 3/6 new start time (4pm EST/1pm PST). As for continuation weeknight, any time after 5pm CST.
-
4 would be great
-
I believe that time is fine. Zeke -- there's a new auction page primer on the RotoGraphs blog. You can also do mock auctions on Yahoo or ESPN, albeit for their league settings and draft setups.
-
We have one member interested in moving the draft later a couple hours, does a 4pm EST, 1pm PST start 3/6 inconvenience anyone?
-
The name of my team is from a poem I wrote for an assignment in college (I would never write poetry unforced). It's just random words and I have absolutely no idea how I created it, but the start sounds threatening enough.
-
Omini, I'm honestly not sure. The first time I used it was the first file I saved in Guitar Hero, back in college. It's possible that in a crowd I thought I overheard it and was amused. I was in a rush to start the league to get the free team!
-
How'd you come up with Imaginary Hammers as the league name, Byron?

Definitely multiple years: I figure that Fangraphs readers are likely to be interesting opponents.

Multiple years, as long as owners are active, cost remains reasonable and no one acts like a jack..s :-)

would it be possible to start the draft a few hours later? and yes i'm thinking multiple years
-
Yeah, if it's as good as advertised, I want to play for multiple years.
-
We now have the appropriate number of members, hooray. As of now, the auction is Sunday, 3/6, at 2pm EST, 11am PST, and we'll go 2-3 hours, resuming at a later date. Are the majority of us looking at this as a multi-year league?
