Incredible. Congrats on the repeat, CPKD!
-
congratulations! so glad we had baseball and what a fun short season. I’m impressed w/ the league, the champ and well, that I was able to fight through covid, natural disasters, protests to actually log all positional maxes, including MI at umm, 61!
-
We'll that was the most fun I've had watching decimals since I quit my day trading back in the 80s. Congrats to the Two Time Champ and to everyone else for a fun, if abbreviated, season. What a short, strange trip it's been.
-
4 teams within 2 points!
-
Fitting final day set-up for our league's all-too-brief season; many are deserving, but only one will win. Play ball!

good luck league on the final day!!!
-
2 days left, still 4 teams within 5 points of the lead! I was a little worried Mighty Monsters wasn't going to get to the 460 min IP (and thinking I shouldn't interfere), but it looks like their starts today should get the remaining 4.2 innings.
-
Well I remember our stretch run battle, Rime, in those bygone '17 days, and the excruciating anxiety it produced.

It would violate the spirit of lineups and our agreement to try and field a full one, but if I had started Ke'Bryan Hayes and no other hitters all year, I'd be in 6th place instead of 11th.
-
But yeah, this tight a 4- or 5-way race - we haven't usually had that.
-
You kids might not remember this, but back in '17, St. Neubauten and I were tied or within one point for 10 of the last 11 days of the season.
-
I'm rooting for a 3-way tie. In honor of Stephen Piscotty oh so many weeks ago.

Best ever pennant races: 1. 1967 American League 2. 2020 Imaginary Hammers...a silver lining to a short season.

Just realized there were 10 days in the last month where my team OBP was actually over .300!
-
Ask Richie Sambora.
-
Inkosi, what’s wrong with listening to Bon Jovi?... asking for a friend.
-
Mighty, are you listening to Bon Jovi right now? This is a safe space; you can be honest.
Sincerely, though, there are at least five teams still in this thing. Short seasons are strange beasts, eh? Bonne chance!
-
You're going down, Inkosi!

And with 2 weeks to go, we've got a tie at the top of our standings!
-
had no idea!!! and two no hitters from two chi-town teams happen in the same year w/ reduced games!
-
That's fantastic!
-
First baseball scorigami (unique final score) in over 21 years!

29-9...apparently it is in fact football season already...

It's been over two years since the once-$50 Evan Longoria was on a roster in this league.
-
It's all so Hosmer. In the town I live in, South Hosmer Street is Hooker alley.
-
I just heard about the Hosmer news on this message board lol. I’m glad that I’m not paying that much attention to this season now. Don’t think I’ll even tune in to the “postseason”.
-
That's just the big kangaroo court in the sky doling out his penance for telling Tatis Jr to swing less.
-
Adding injury to insult: Hosmer gets picked up by a team again & promptly breaks his finger...bunting w/2 strikes!

What if we combined this season's stats into next season's... wait, wait, I vote no, I vote no, I vote NO!
-
If the season was a little longer, I might have a chance. Like just an extra 5 or 6 months. I would definitely turn things around.

He was rostered until 8/14, def missing out some though
-
Wait. You mean no one actually owns Hosmer? Playing the best ball of his life and no one was there to take advantage of it. That's so Hosmer.

without the success...

you’re like the Padres! @rime.
-
So who's gonna write our "Trade Deadline Winners & Losers" column? I made 11 deals with 5 teams since the restart, so I certainly can't be impartial.
-
Reminder that the actual deadline is midnight ET (9 pm PT) for deals to be accepted.
-
Happy trade deadline day! Donaldson is my lone remaining "expensive rental" I wanted to move, but I have a number of $1-5 role players that are probably a few too many to keep for a balanced roster next year. Inquire within, as always.
-
Regarding trade dead line: a lot of my roster is available. Some are not. You can probably guess which. Inquire within.
-
...hurricanes, covid, protests - the trifecta...
-
High quality bats on my trade block. Looking towards 2021.
-
...now that the vote is on, Strasburg is on the table for next season w/ cost cost-certainty! taking offers 'meow'!
-
...thanks @rime for running a fair and balanced league!
-
---- Announcement ----
-
Ok, I am counting eight "yea" votes including one that was sent to me by message, which is enough to enact the proposal: The Imaginary Hammers League will not participate in Arbitration Allocations this 2020-2021 offseason.
-
---- Announcement ----
-
I've gone back and forth and back and forth on it... I think my final vote is to keep arbitration as I believe the extra $25 per team (on average) forces more keeper decisions and results in a more interesting draft pool. I do understand the difficulty of good players getting "double-tapped" by the system in between full meaningful seasons, though. Ready to enact the will of the people!
-
I vote to keep arbitration
-
I vote for zero arbitration as well.
