BTW, I just picked a draft date that seemed like a good time based on previous years, assuming the season does start on April 1. If that happened to work for everyone, great, if not, let's discuss.
-
my Pirates are the Yankees (and everyone else’s) AAAA team. gotta love it... I’m bringing the Blue Jays in as this years foster kid.
-
My starters are getting the hell out of Pittsburgh
-
And 1/31 is still the deadline for renewing your team! Make sure to do that so I don't have to send messages on 2/1 asking if it's actually abandoned.
-
Agreed, Commish, for better and for worse.

Ooh, that is a good point. Allowing penalty-free cuts does not extend the trade deadline. There could be roster move workarounds, but probably simplest to keep the trade deadline as 1/31.
-
I'm not sure, because I'm no Commish...I think the solution Commish presented to push back the cut deadline is an override he can do for no cut penalty after the deadline, but I don't think that will allow trades in the system.

Interesting point, Saint. I was presuming that all pre-cutdown privileges would be extended through the new deadline.
-
Okay with 2/28. I do think, if I understand correctly, that we still won't be able to make trades after 1/31/21. True?

Yeah for 2/28
-
I vote for 2/28 as well

No opposition here, I vote for 2/28.
-
Any opposition to setting (for now) a 2/28 cut deadline? Or is it ready for a vote?
-
I'm OK with pushing back the deadline. This will make it easier to manage things once spring training is inevitably delayed.

2/28 is probably the best date considering what we saw last year.
-
Pushing keeper deadline back sounds good to me.
-
I support the proposal. w/ that said, I stand pat. :-)
-
If we do push it back, I would like to make sure it's still 1-2 weeks before our draft, so maybe we should start looking at dates for that too.
-
Great idea, Commish and Saint! I fully support the 02.28.21 deadline.
-
Given all the uncertainty that still exists, I do support pushing the keeper deadline back, perhaps to 2/28/21.

Hi all, and happy new year! A proposal has been raised about extending our keeper deadline past Jan. 31 given the slow pace of free agency this year. This would be easy to enact, just agree on a league deadline and I could check the "Penalty Free Cuts" box for all teams until then. But as we did for the arbitration cancellation, let's definitely hear out any concerns and only change the rules if we have substantial support.
-
I'm just sayin', if you wanna visit that idea after a few beverages at home this NYE, we could have some fun with it!
-
Rime, is this your way of getting me to trade you Darvish for 3 lottery tickets and the ghost of Juan Nicasio?

Padres getting anyone else excited about trades?
-
Mad Max is threatening not to report to Red Ducks camp and management is annoyed with him. Make an offer!

this is a lame ass hot stove... no trades... I have catchers galore... if you need a young buck behind the dish, hollar!!! lets get this party started!
-
Oh, I saw it, and I thought "I oughta give Keith some crap for this" but then I forgot and soon enough it was November 16.
-
Ha called me out! I was hoping to just slide under the radar until we forgot about whoever that dummy was who did the arb allocation.
-
Ok, there's one for me.
-
Anyone want to announce any non-tenders today?
-
So it's really Keith's (Roberto) fault. ;)
-
I guess so, although I can't imagine my choices were that surprising. And in my defence, someone else had submitted arbs when I went in to do them! (so two of us were sleeping)
-
Ah, well glad you're back and understand what happened. I guess you gave the whole league a sliver of public information about what players you think are undervalued :)
-
Lol. This is what I get for sleeping through the offseason. Completely forgot about the vote, my bad guys. Thanks for fixing my mistake Rime.
-
thanks man! Tatis thanks you... anything we can do about Freddie Freeman’s contact haha
-
All looks as it should be to me, Commish. Thanks.

Ok, I think it's all done. Can folks check to see if any salaries are wrong? Otherwise... guess it's the offseason! Trading open now through 1/31.
-
Ok, proof of concept, I fixed the players on Roar, Fish, and Roberto. Can get to the rest later... or maybe make Smoak do it ;)
-
Ah dammit, I didn't really think about that deadline passing. I'm sure we can undo the price changes, might just have to be a manual change. >:-(
-
Commish, when you get a chance, please reverse Smoak and Mirrors' erroneous arbitration allocations. Thanks.

Smoak and Mirrors?!
-
Agree - please delete your arbitrations - Tatis Jr. will thank you.

I believe Commish can undo arb allocations, if/as needed, but I don't think he can disable the allocation process.

Is this not something the commish can disable?

Hey, fellow league members: we voted NOT to do arbitration this off-season. Please delete your arb allocations.

Well played by CPKD; congrats to you, Andrew, for hanging in and getting the last seat when the music stopped.

When talking trade on deadline day and languishing in 5th place, I told Rime my team was going nowhere this year. I remain shocked to have eked out a repeat, major props on a well-played albeit very weird season to all you guys. Really desperately hope we have a more normal one in 2021!
