Winnetka you are probably right haha. I will admit I was a large Calhoun believer going into last year.
-
Laugh at my drunken typing skills too!!! But believe it or not I was sober when I accepted the Calhoun trade.
-
I am believe in Calhoun - he will hit. Laugh while you can...
-
Squirrel, you realize we just jinxed ourselves. Now there is no doubt that Calhoun will win the triple crown and lead Spa City to yet another title.

Hmm I would guess more like .260/.310/.420 and only play in about half the games. You'll probably be lucky if he hits over 10 homeruns this year.
-
Cannot get enough of Willie Calhoun. Short, un-athletic, slow, can't handle any defensive position, and he has one of the most awkward looking swings in the league... But he is going to put up a .300/.360/.480 season next year.
-
Willie Calhoun....ugh. Spa City has some sort of man-crush to explain his temporary insanity.

Hopefully more to come! A last place team is unlikely to go worst-to-first without some major changes.

After dominating the 2018 season transactions, no surprise to see Spa and Vegas out to early leads with multiple trades on day 1. Spa has the early 3-2 lead.

The Red Sox GM is an idiot who has benefited from other GMs prospects and owners deep pockets. I don’t think baseball revenue has grown that much in the past few years to warrant paying an .822 ops player $35m for 8-10 yrs. I also think that Brian Cashman is a pretty shrewd GM with discipline, there is no way in hell he will sign Machado.

I would not be surprised if Yankees sign Harper and Machado for $35M/year each. Stanton would DH, and Andujar would play 1B. Big signings generate free publicity and build the brand. According to Spotrac, they have just over $100M committed. They could easily add another $100M in salaries.
-
The winter meetings were uneventful except for the Mariners-Rays trade. My guess is Harper and Machado hold out for huge money, and neither signs until late January. There is so much money in the game now that I don't think $350M would be difficult for several teams. The Red Sox paid over $50M last year to 3 players who weren't even on the team (Rusney, Panda and Hanley) and they got by just fine.
-
So far this season the free agency buzz has been much quieter than expected. I have to think that Harper will not find a $400m contract, and Machado a $300m one. Personally I wouldn’t give Machado anywhere close to that. I can’t understand that valuation for a career .822 ops player. I think the max I would go is 5/100 on Machado.

I'm going to say Donaldson to the Indians, Machado to the Phillies, Harper to the Cards, Kimbrel back to the Braves, Cutch to the Indians, Brantley to the Cubs, Dozier to the Dodgers.

I'll also guess Harper back to the Nationals. Machado to the Phillies. Donaldson to the Rangers. Brantley to the Cubs. Kimbrel to the Cards and Cutch to the Indians.
-
I didn’t think about the Angels for Harper, I like that. I think that this market is a lot colder than what most people think. That being said, I’ll go Harper back to the Nats, nobody will want Machado, so he will fall to the Mets, Kimbrell to the Cards, Donaldson to the Cards, Cutch to the Cubs, Marwin G to the Twins, Brantley to the Angels. Harper to the White Sox.

Any free agent predictions? I predict Harper signs with Anaheim... Machado signs with Yanks... Donaldson signs with Cards... Dozier signs with Red Sox... Brantley signs with Phillies... Kimbrel signs with Nats.

Free Dorito Loco Taco for all of us on Nov. 1st, thanks to Mookie. I don"t know the difference between a normal taco and a Dorito Loco one, but I'll find out Nov. 1st.

I will probably pick up Kelly again. Catchers are so unreliable after the top tier. Also... when I win the billion dollar mega millions tonight, I am going to have a championship trophy made for the league...

Villar was on 4 different teams (Sliders, Team Name, Vegas and Winnetka). A whole bunch of guys were on 3 different teams .
