I guess one can value Weaver and Robert vert highly....
-
What kind of return is that for Trout? Yikes.

Firesale. Get at me.

BTW, in my experience, off-season rule changes are most likely made after robust in-season debate. I can see making some of the changes discussed with an eye towards greater parity.
-
The irony is that I could probably make some noise over those extra 50 gms + IP's, but only if I had P&E's bench.
-
though the lead is inflated by IP and OF games played . . .
-
yeah, sorry nancy's, but i'm with wildman on this. either it's permitted or not.
-
2 weeks ago there was a tie atop the standings. Today P&E is 570 pts ahead. Bam!
-
Saying "just stop doing it" is absolutely meaningless as it is a tactic that is legal, nor is it ethical to change a rule midseason.

ok, don't change the rule, just stop doing it.
-
for one, it wouldn't be fair to people who haven't done it yet, for another i don't believe in rule changes mid-season.
-
why don't we just stop it now?
-
ok. we're not changing it mid-season, but we'll take a vote in the off-season on whether to allow it or not.
-
Little late to the party, but I don't care for this re-auctioning guys you've cut.
-
actually, maybe it is sustainable--with that swing and being 6'4", 210.
-
haha, nope. but if it's any consolation, even with his pretty swing, i doubt his 31% HR/FB is sustainable.
-
Also, my DL has Dallas Keuchel, Vincent Velasquez, Matt Harvey, Felix Hernandez, and Cole Hamels on it. That's quite the starting rotation on the DL there.
-
If I threaten to quit the league over the issue, can I get Cody Bellinger back?
-
Don't like the rule but it has been allowed already this year would like to get rid of the rule for future seasons but if enough owners want to cancel by mid-season you have my vote Thanks Chuck

fair enough. i think some other owners don't like it, either. we can't change mid-season, but if a majority of owners want, we can prohibit the practice in future seasons.
-
i don't like it...no equivalent in regular MLB
-
if ppl really don't like it, we can take a vote during the offseason to prohibit the practice.
-
yeah, my understanding is that re-auctioning guys to get cap relief is a pretty common practice throughout ottoneu.
-
That would be a pretty obvious case of collusion that everyone could see as they took turns cutting the same player. I'd vote both out of the league pretty quick.
-
My point was, an owner can cut and drop every 30 days. Two owners working together could do it twice in two days.
-
Nancy's Harbor Bar & Hotel's trade block has been updated!
-
Bottom line, if you have expensive dead weight on your team like a $12 Melky Cabrera, cut them now and start reducing the cap penalties every 30 days.
-
Panic, I don't understand your comment about multiple owners working together to effect this. This is a single team action from what I can see.
-
Freeing up cap space in this way seems to be a built in feature of Ottoneu. I figured it out by watching P&E and Sugary. Later heard Fangraph authors talk about this as a strategic thing.
-
that seems odd. you could make an agreement with another owner to manufacture cap relief
-
wait, you can keep adding and cutting a guy to reduce your cap hit?!?
-
the very slight silver lining in walker's injury is that cistulli's boy cecchini is back in the majors.
-
man, you don't check for a few hours and something like this happens. oof.
-
Might be too little too late but at least we're forcing P&E to max bids on guys about to go onto the DL. Could slow him down a little.
-
peel & eat schimpf's trade block has been updated!
-
Kang probably not eligible to return until the 2019 season. That's some forward thinking right there.
-
Joe Ross ownership feels a lot like Michael Pineda ownership.

Nancy's Harbor Bar & Hotel's trade block has been updated!
-
haha, my solution was to just bid a completely ludicrous amount for him.
-
I knew Jimmy Nelson was a P&E guy. Would have bid higher had I had more roster flexibility.
-
fangraphs' jimmy nelson article could not have come at a worse time.
-
It's not every day you have a bench player hit 4 HR's in 1 game. I knew I retained that guy for some reason.
-
I now have a football squad on my DL. I love this 10 day DL concept
-
Dichromatic Eyes's trade block has been updated!
-
With Pineda it's more Russian roulette than magic 8 ball
-
I don't need a crystal ball to predict that Adam Wainwright is going to hit mad bombs
-
Free beer for anyone who has a crystal ball and will allow me to peer into it 10 minutes before any Adam Wainwright start.

The league wouldn't mind if you also cut those Turner guys and the lesser Seager. Those guys aren't any good. Set them free.
