I also confirm I will do it.
-
4 teams still need to do arb (tho one owner has confirmed he’ll do it). please get your allocations in. only a few days left.

please get your arbitration allocations in. we still have six teams that need to do it, and just one week left to finish.

so--let's please get your arbitration done before the 11/14 deadline. it only takes about 5 minutes.

the good news is that we reached 100% participation. the bad news is that we're deadlocked 6-6. I think that means we just stay with arbitration, since that's the default league setting, though i had hoped we'd have a more definitive answer from the survey.

Just voted. Sorry about that, I've pretty much checked out -- not a good thing, I realize, but I've got enough on my plate at the moment.
-
ten votes and we're deadlocked 5-5. we need to hear from the two remaining holdouts. please vote. it takes about 5 seconds. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/P56V2T6

Good point Fran. Arbitration can be undone on and individual team basis. I'll remove all of mine if the vote comes up to cancel.
-
Honestly I'm not sure how to vote -- which I know is ridiculous since I opened this whole can of worms, but that's where I am. And I already did arbitration, so can that even be undone?
-
If you don't complete arbitration, your dollars just don't go through. So everyone would presumably just skip it.
-
Voted. Dave, does Ottoneu allow us to cancel arbitration for our league?
-
please vote--only six responses so far.

please vote by 10/26. it will take a majority vote of the league to cancel arbitration for this year (min 7 votes to cancel).

i went back and checked both the message board and the survey monkey. the only things we discussed were ditching the arb coupon and providing cap relief for opt outs. we'll need to take a new vote to determine whether to have arbitration this year. personally, i think we should have it. arbitration helps restore competitive balance and keeps things interesting.

but we can forgo arbitration if that’s what people want. i don’t feel strongly about it.

oh, i’m sorry for the misunderstanding. my impression was that we were not doing the coupons, but would still do normal arbitration.

i was under the impression when this first came up because of the 60 game schedule we said no to both it is not fair to do arbitration and not be able to use the coupons and we already voted no on using the coupons this year and because of the unusual season we just went through we should not do either this year and revisit it next year when hopefully things are back to a full season of baseball where we can use both coupons and arbitration . Thanks Chuck

Back when this initially came up I honestly thought we were suspending both arbitration and the coupon for '20. Totally my fault for not paying attention at the time, but I wish we'd do both or neither.
-
Arbitration is normal this year (with the exception of no "coupons"), right?
-
Bravo, WAR! Sorry for the delay--donation made--great charity choice.

Made mine as well, looks like a good group.

And in terms of next year, once arbitration closes, I'll be looking to move one of my big three (Trout, Harper, Cole) for some elite MI help. Cole is one of just two players left on my roster from when I took over two offseasons ago (the other is Odor, so I was especially happy to see him put up two home runs to provide some breathing room on Sunday). Could be a total turnover in two years.
-
Thanks, all. I thought I was toast when Civale put up -25 on Saturday; Sunday was a pleasant surprise. As was the whole season. This is such a great league. In terms of charity, I'd nominate Reach Out And Read (https://reachoutandread.org/), either the national organization or whichever local affiliate is relevant.
-
Congratulations, WAR! Hard to believe none of the rest of us thought to get both Trout and Harper

Nice job, WAR, taking over a team that was 2nd to last and driving it to 1st place.

But yes, everyone should have a legal roster during the off-season.

Screen grab moment. I reached 1st place on the final day at least for a moment with Bryant's HR.
-
First 3 years I played in this league no drops were required whether you were over the 40 man limit or over the $500 cap for the entire off season until cut day. Last year the commissioner required us to cut players down to the 40 man limit. I would just like to see consistency on the rule, year over year.
-
Any player that can't go through the full 24 hr waiver period before the end of the season (dropped today) cannot be claimed.
-
oh i see...anyone dropped today can't be claimed. fair enough.
-
also, is anyone else only seeing a few of those potential waiver claims? I can see 7 out of...a lot
-
to be legal going into the offseason, do we have to be under the cap with loans and penalties, or just under $400?
-
all those prospects and i got one i floated as a distraction.
-
buckle up folks, should be an exciting finish. good luck everyone!

Yeah about 10 days ago I'm thinking about how a White Sox-Padres World Series would be kinda fun, and now everything's blown to shite. Of course prior to that I was thinking my team still had a shot so a pattern has been established.
-
"Clevinger gets shot, Padres hope he can pitch in playoffs" is a really questionable sports headline.
-
Tough break for SD losing Clev, Lamet & Myers right b4 playoffs.
-
Kinda weird to have the league decided by a bunch of deadbeat 3rd rate starters. Nevertheless, this feels more like the final day(s) of some of the rotisserie leagues I've been a part of. Warning: heartbreak ahead.
-
PSA: whatever lineup service they are using is mucking up the doubleheaders today. i recommend checking on twitter
-
i missed out on slashing lance lynn’s tires before tonight’s start
