Just a reminder, you need to make your final cuts by Jan 31. The teams that are over are all owners I trust to get that done, so I think we should be fine.

Annual list of players I view as marginal re-sign choices. Make an offer if interested:
Diaz, Walker, Lowe, Wade, India, Muncy, Larnach, Pederson, Stanton, Fried, Arrighetti, Springs, Leiter, Chapman, Tinoco, Martin.
-
I think a team name of Dodgers would be fun, but only in an ironic way
-
After the difficult decision to cut my namesake and the other going to the Evil Empire, my team will now be known as Blind Squirrels

Bob Uecker is dead and I don't feel so good myself. https://joeblogs.joeposnanski.com/p/farewell-mr-baseball

Happy New Year! Just a friendly reminder to renew your team and make your cuts by Jan 31.

I still have room to take on another big contract or two, if you need cap space.

also motivated to move Yandy Diaz, though I probably won’t cut him at his current salary. he was back to a .350+ wOBA in the second half

Oh wow, this is fun. If you haven't already, click on the banner on the Fangraphs homepage to see how you used the site in 2024. They show you the player pages you visited the most and what percentile user of FG's you are. I'm a 97 percenter.

Hi everyone—we should cut down to a legal roster size, just like we always used to do in the past.

one week to go for arbitration and four teams still need to allocate. you can always go back and change your allocations anytime up to the deadline, so please just do it now.

Just a reminder to everyone that completing your arb allocations is required to stay in the league. Why not just do it now?

First! to complete arb. My apologies if I arbed a favorite player of yours.

Naples update -- no power yet this morning, but no damage in my sister's area. So all is good there.
-
My sister lives in Naples -- she's going to get hit by the outer bands on this one but she figures it'll be okay. Storm surge is the biggest worry. This is one scary storm and hoping for the best for everyone impacted.. I have a friend in Fletcher, NC (not far from Asheville) that had to be rescued from her house due to Hurricane Helene. Just heartbreaking to see this devastation.
-
Anyone here in FL or have family there? Really scary times. Hope everyone stays safe.

Thanks, everyone. I've had "Blake the much despised tore the cover off the ball" from Casey at the Bat stuck in my head since Taylor's ridiculous single. Another great season for a really great league--just glad I could hold on and avoid a September collapse worse than the Twins' this year. I'll designate the Children's Law Center of Minnesota: https://clcmn.org/about-us/.

Congratulations WAR! I am rapidly becoming what the US is to the World Cup

I’m rapidly becoming to this league what Uruguay is to the World Cup.

Congratulations, War! What a fight to the finish -- only 6.5 point separation! Is this the closest we've had?
-
What a nail-biter! Congratulations, WAR! Three wins in five years is incredible. And well done, Framber—incredibly hard fought. Thank you all for another great season. Love this league

Please tell me that Tyrone Taylor single was the winning points for the year.

Congrats Matt! Happy to contribute to Crisis Nursry or whatever charity you pick. Amazing season everyone! Enjoy your two weeks off till arbitration starts.

Should have bid blocked Taylor. Didn't know that was something I needed to do. Well done, Matt. Another trophy for your mantel.
-
From Niv: "there were two stat corrections in the cards-rockies game from 3 days ago that may be incorporated tomorrow for added spice"
-
Looks like I lost 9 points after the stat correction that runs nightly. Oh well.
-
And that's a Reynolds wrap. Tomorrow is set. WAR w 2 players in a DH to get 11.1 pts for the win.
-
With the Tucker scratch, Winker and Ty Taylor both operative in both halves of the DH tomorrow. Far from over.
-
Deep cut, Logunate. Deep cut.

The shortened 2020 year also had a great race that went to the final day btwn Matt, Dave and me.
-
One more full day and then Winker day. Couldn't follow yesterday's action as I was moving a light fixture and doing some drywall patching. Just wanted a lead, even temporarily, on the "last" day and Raley delivered that for me. Fun.
-
I suppose I'll also have one game of either Jesse Winker or Tyrone Taylor on Monday if I'm down but it's close.
-
Yeah, I had updated that post about three times already. Should have waited. Framber, Harm and I once played in a league where four teams had a shot at the title on the final day of the season. Never thought I'd see that again but this is really close.

That was before Shea Langeliers homered from my bench in the top of the ninth, which gave Luke Raley another at bat in the bottom of the ninth that he promptly cashed in for a homer from Framber's starting lineup...
-
4.6 points ain't much, but WAR has a clear advantage going into the final full day. He can use up to 10 hitter games on Sunday, whereas Framber only has 5. Just an incredible race among the top three. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xl55ltDG5Ow

Thanks all (esp. Acuna for looking it up, which I should have just done)

Transactions can be requested from the day of the annual draft until the next-to-last day of the regular season. All auctions must be completed prior to midnight of the last day of games of the season. For example, if the last game of the season is on a Sunday , all auctions must be started by midnight Eastern Time on Friday night
-
From the sites rules. This would imply Saturday Midnight Eastern…..
-
just checking is the auction process closed Thanks Chuck

Season is now treated as ending on Monday (though if those games become meaningless and get canceled, I don't know what would happen then).
-
Today might be the last day. Dunno if the season being extended to Monday changes that. But as I understand it, auctions must be completed by end of season.
-
Is Monday the last day to start auctions, or do they have to end by then?
-
Still anyone’s race with just the weekend to go-good luck guys!

I'm not breathing easy at the very least until you're out of Util games for Ohtani and Logunate is out of OF games for Judge. 30 points is like a good but not great game for either of them this month...
-
With over 33% more available games and a 30+ pt lead on us, I think WAR/Matt has got this. Congrats not in order til Sunday but he can breathe easier for next 4 days. Was fun making him sweat.
-
With WAR and Framber’s ratios, being in first this month felt a lot like being a cartoon character who had walked off a cliff but hadn’t looked down yet
