• Just a note for everyone (particularly first-timers): Trades can be accepted up until the cut deadline at 11:59 pm EST on 1/31. However, if the accepted trade does not process prior to the cut deadline, you will not be able to cut any of the players that you are receiving in the trade. So don't accept or offer any trades for players you don't want to receive after 1/29.

• Agreed. And our differences in evaluation are why trades are even possible in the first place. Bye Bye Baby, Diaz was worth something like 850 points last year, which is like 400 points above replacement, not 200-300. But THIS year he probably will get like 650 points, in line with your estimate. It's crazy how great he was last year, which was one of the main reasons the M's outperformed their expected record.

• Major concern about Diaz opportunities on a new team (see Familia’s numbers on Mets). Cheap star potential on two young players. RP elite is 200-300 higher than average replacement, position players elite is 400-600 higher than average replacement. All factors for me.

• I don't love it but I don't think it's that bad. Not enough for me to vote against it. $15 for a reliever is pretty high, though obviously Diaz was crazy good last year.

• I thought that trade was fine. Meadows is all upside and Didi was a 5.7 P/G SS last year who should bounce back from injury. Relievers are risky. Based on what I saw this off-season, there wasn't much market for relievers in the league.
