I seem to have acted too quickly, and (as usual) foolishly with the great Cody Bellinger. I can’t bid on him because I cut him. So one of you lucky Ottoneu owners will get a discounted Bellinger, who is on a streak of good games. I almost cut him in another league at $21 but held off. I’ve not claimed to be particularly good at this game.
-
I’ve decided to cancel the remainder of the MLB season and declare myself victorious! ;-)
-
Neubies looking strong. Has a solid lead already.
-
Better luck next year, Solid! LOL
-
I'm celebrating 1st place. It's just day one of a long season, but I will take the small victories.
-
That makes more sense! I didn’t notice that you posted 6 minutes before Smith’s auction ended. Smith is a step up in power, though a step down in real life b/c of speed/fielding/hitting. And that may give Peraza a longer career though with less of a fantasy peak.
-
I wouldn't roster Gimenez, no power. I was referring to Kevin Smith.
-
Gimenez is pretty similar to Peraza, but Peraza grades higher in power, so I think he has more upside in this format than Gimenez (though I agree their fielding and speed profile makes both of them better players in real life than in FGPts.) in any case, IKF won’t stand in Peraza’s way later this year, when he’s had his AAA seasoning.
-
Peraza is a decent prospect, but doesn't translate that great to this scoring format. Yankees prospects tend to be a bit over-hyped. There is a pretty good hitting SS prospect that will play this year that is being bid on right now.
-
Haha! If I had Volpe, I would want more. That’s why I said NYY #2 prospect! My guess is that one of them or Gleyber gets traded, and the other two cover 2B and SS; Peraza is the better fielder, so I’m guessing he takes SS if he isn’t the one traded, but who knows how it will play out.
-
I thought Anthony Volpe was going to be available until I got to end. Damn
-
The season is almost here, and I’m looking to make a trade tonight! I’m shopping NYY #2 prospect per MLB.com, their SS of the near future, Oswald Peraza, and looking for a decent MI or OF in return. DM me or send me an offer!
-
I didn't realize Bauer was getting paid as well. So this administration leave could end up in his favor by possibly extending his career. I think it is pretty obvious that the DeShaun Watson situation was much worse in the public eye. Watson just got a massive new contract.
-
I put all my spare cash on Suzuki bid so nothing above $2 please !
-
Thanks for the explanation.
-
So far he has been fully paid. While on “admin leave” he has received his full salary. I can’t see a case to be made against LAD for hurting future earnings - I doubt there has been any case law on a team’s duty in that regard. If LAD really wants to punish Bauer they could make him pitch and ride his arm hard hoping he gets hurt.
-
I didn’t realize he’s still being paid. Maybe LAD have grounds to sue? I think Bauer could also argue that not being able to pitch is going to impact his future earnings. He can opt out after this year.
-
That is a tough case to make. Still, I am firmly in the pro-Bauer camp. If they suspend him without pay, I hope he sues them and wins. But I don’t think he has a civil case unless he can prove damages.
-
Bauer’s problem suing MLB is that he is getting paid. If they refused to pay him, he would have a great case. But how do you prove “damages” when he is not out any money? Keep in mind you need to make a prima facile case for damages just to get to a jury, and then you need to convince jurors to award you money when they know he is getting paid $40M a year to NOT do anything.
-
I think there is probably more to the story that the public doesn't know about, and maybe we never will. Admittedly I don't follow these soap operas closely, but MLB's firm stance on continuing this suspension doesn't seem to add up with the information we all have. Otherwise I think you're right that Bauer could be in a position to sue. Hasn't Bauer been pretty quiet about the whole situation? He doesn't seem like someone who would follow his attorneys' advice to keep his mouth shut.
-
I don't think Bauer is anti woman, he has a female agent. I think Bauer is not woke, and doesn't care what people think of him and that sets people's opinion of him the wrong way.
-
In my opinion, Bauer has a case where he could sue MLB for undue suspension.
-
I have no problem with Trevor Bauer, and I think he is being unjustifiably punished. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from my understanding he and the woman involved had a kinky, bdsm relationship that she pursued. She kept coming back to HIS place, even after he ended their relationship. To me, this looks like a classic money grab. I wonder if some unscrupulous attorney got into her head and decided to file charges to lead into a civil case.
-
To clarify - not pro Bauer. More anti-Aroldis. That guy is really tough to root for.
-
True. Seems like Aroldis should have been on the sidelines longer given a gun was involved
-
It is possible for someone to violate MLB policies/rules without violating state or federal laws. Consider Pete Rose.
-
Granted I'm the guy/possible fool that just traded for Bauer but what is the rationale for him never playing for the Dodgers again if the courts cleared him? Other than the fact he seemed unlikeable even before the allegations. As a Yankees fan, Aroldis Chapman is without a doubt equally bad or worse.
-
Tatis! Padres will be glad they splurged on backups like Kim and Profar.
-
Sorry everyone family emergency and I can’t make the draft. I’ll suffer the consequences.
-
I have $3 per player I need. I’ll be a spectator for the first couple hours probably. Shopping in the bargain bin!
-
Ready for the draft! I have my list of players with the salaries I think are appropriate, knowing that we will all blow way past reasonable bids into the ludicrous bid territory. Also knowing I’ll probably regret half the bids I “win”. Same thing every year.
-
Close is now a done deal. We’re getting a season! Don’t forget the clocks move ahead an hour overnight Sunday. Wouldn’t want to be an hour late. To draft on Sunday
-
Looks like we are close!
-
Just a reminder the draft is set for Sunday at 3est. Maybe there will even be an agreement by then. I certainly hope so.
-
Come on Graham and Griz! Time to add that 2nd team.

Would anybody consider adopting one of the vacant teams in “Best Coast League”? It had been a good league, but lost a bunch of owners this year. I think they just got tired of losing to Winnetka. But in this league I know there are people who have the skills and confidence to take Winnetka down. $20 is nothing these days - going to McDonalds costs more. You know you will enjoy adding another team 😁
-
There is no trading after midnight tonight until the draft is completed in March, Still about 4 hours to get that last minute deal done! Be aware that any players involved in the trade have to be kept though since it will process after the deadline. Everyone is under the cap at least so we are all set. Well done!
-
Cut deadline is 4 days away! If you are looking for last minute deals, make your offers now!
-
We moved the draft back a week Frisky. I hope you can adopt the team. It’s yours if you want it.
-
That’s an interesting looking team Spa. Is the draft date set in stone? That’s my wife’s birthday so I couldn’t do it.

Niv has announced the February 15th cut deadline is not moving regardless of lockout status. Just keeping everybody up to date. Ten days left to get under the cap with penalty free cuts.
-
If anybody will take on another team, we have a vacant team in League 26 (“Flags Fly Forever”). Several guys in this league also have teams there. It’s a good league - just needs one more good owner before the draft. The vacant team is called “For Whom The Bellinger Tolls”.
-
Nice! Everything is all harmonious in the league once again!!

Everyone is paid up for 2022!
-
Muncy, Correa, Sal Perez, and JDM are available. I’m looking for less expensive players with some keeper value, not necessarily a big time talent, as long as they aren’t players I’d wind up cutting.
-
I thought inflation in real life was bad. The draft this year is going to be ridiculous. Shaping up to have lots of owner's with cash and not a lot to spend it on.
-
Also the draft date is now set for 3/13 as long as this lockout is resolved soon. Lastly, renewals are due 1/31. Several of you have not renewed yet. If you plan to not renew, please send me a message so I can start working on a replacement owner.
-
FYI Niv has moved the keeper deadline to 2/15 because of the lockout. Hurry up and get agreement MLB and MLBPA!
-
Keeper deadline is almost here. Does anybody want to make a move before rosters freeze again? I could move Correa, Muncy, Lux, Sal Perez, Berrios…. I’m open to ideas.
-
Planning to get the draft date sorted out hits weekend. If you want to weigh in on your availability, here is the poll link:
