200 for Roca
-
We have 8 weeks left in the season, so you should be within 800 pts (100/wk) to have a shot. By that metric, Roca and Maple are the only teams left that still have a shot at Geezer. Last week Geezer, Portland and Hudson were the top scorers (bad news for folks trying to chase Geezer). Geezer and Roca lead the 30d list, with Portland passing Maple for 3rd. The standings are unchanged (Geezer, Roca, Maple). Hitters are unchanged, but Roca passed Maple in pitching.
-
Well, at least you had players that were wanted.
-
All my relievers except 2 were traded and one likely will lose his role. Wish batters were moved.
-
I thought it was Broken Wings by Mister Mister😬
-
The team's new theme song is "Free Fallin'"
-
Well, at least for the most part, the team is 'armless ....
-
Maybe need to rename to Hudson Rehabbers or Dodders
-
Anybody know what the record is for the most players I na lineup on the 60 days IL? I have 7 plus one on the OUT list ....
-
So Clase is non-disciplinary paid leave through Aug. 31 as part of MLB's sports-betting investigation. Not even guilty of anything yet, and sports betting? Now that they have forgiven Pete Rose this is still a thing?
-
Last week Roca, Maple and Geezer were the leaders. Roca passed Maple on the 30d list so it's Geezer, Roca, Maple. Maple passed Cool Papa in the standings so it's Geezer, Roca, Maple. Hitters are unchanged: Geezer, Cool Papa and JBO. Maple passed Roca and Cool Papa passed Kansas in pitching so the new top 3 are Maple, Roca and Cool Papa.

200 for Roca

An analysis of my pitching. The best are on 60 IL and seem never to be seen again. For my active pitchers: highest number of strikes (YES!); second highest number of hits (oh ...); and second highest number of HR against (damn ..). Yes, I have assembled a pitching rotation that just throws right down the middle of the plate. Hit or miss. probably nothing but 4 seam fast balls.

200 for Hudson

200 for Geezer

200 for Maplie

My thoughts on trades as we come to the deadline. Suggestions. Look at what I need. I get trade requests for my very best players in exchange for someone's worst, or injured, or underperforming. So, no. This should be easy enough. It is clear I need MI/2B. Lousy P/G. What do you need? Don't ask for the one best performing player I have at a position. Do I have depth in a position that matches your needs and that you have depth in a position that fills mine? This can work.

We had a short week last week with the all star break. Portland, Hudson and Beef were the weekly leaders. All others were unchanged (Geezer, Maple, Roca for 30d, Geezer, Roca, Cool Papa for the season, Geezer, Cool Papa, JBO for hitting and Roca, Maple, Kansas for pitching).
-
If you didn’t get it you should email Niv at help@ottoneu.com

Hey Geezer, not a free one. I paid $25 for one last year.
-
97g is on pace for 162. Since there are 11 weeks left, and teams typically play 6 days/week, you can often catch up 1g/wk at any position. It seems like you need 86g played at this point to be able to get to 162 (although you could go lower if there are some double-headers such that you could get 2g in one day). The following are in danger of not getting to 162: Cool Papa MI, JBO SS/MI/OF, Portland 2B/OF/UT, Kansas 1B/2B/MI, Beef 2B/SS/3B, GTown 3B.

You only get a free t-shirt if you finish in the top 32 in OPL. If you make the round of 16 then you start winning cash.
-
T-shirt ... I never did get the one I paid for last year. I guess it was just a $20 donation to the cause!
-
Last week Geezer, Roca and Portland were the top teams, and Geezer, Maple and Roca were the top teams for the month. Geezer, Roca and Cool Papa are the leaders at the All Star Break. Geezer, Cool Papa and JBO are the top hitters. Roca, Maple and Kansas are the top pitchers. Enjoy the break and get your line ups ready for Friday.
-
Geezer Ripkens ended up 33rd, but Cow Ripkens (his team in another league) finished 32 and make the knock out round.
-
Yes. Free t-shirt either way.
-
In that case, I am going to stop watching anxiously! Have a good all star break!
-
Hey Larry, I missed your message re: Cow.....that is crazy. I am glad you will get one team in either way!
-
Geezer cut the lead to 25
-
Yes, but I am the guy in 32nd so I would just knock one of my teams out for another.
-
Geezer is still 33rd, but is now down 27 points at 2000 ET.
-
stl vs atl is in a weather delay
-
LAD vs SF just ended. Geezer is still 33rd and down 16. He has two players in the StL v ATL game (Donovan and Burleson), his opponent has 3 players in the same game (Acuna, Burleson and Contreras). Burleson cancels out. A HR by Donovan would be awesome!
-
Ironically the guy in 31st is also me. Cow Ripkens from League 100.
-
The guy geezer is chasing still has 5 hitters in play.
-
1900 ET, Geezer is still in 33rd, down 16 points. He has 3 hitters still in play and 1 RP.
-
At 1830 ET, Geezer is 33rd and only down 14 points. He has 4 hitters left with 2 in the 5th inning. 2 RPs and both are active. His one remaining SP is currently still throwing in the 8th. Crunch time!
-
at 1800 ET, Geezer moved up to 37th, and trails by 40. He has 5 hitters still playing at mid-game or later, and 2 RP and 1 SP. It's getting very tight.
-
at 1730 ET, Geezer is 38th and down 37 points.
-
at 1700 ET Geezer is now 37th, trailing by 39.
-
at 1630 ET Geezer has dropped to 36th, and is 49 points behind. He does have an SP going yet today, and players in the late game, so this is still in play. Go Geezer!
-
Geezer is still 35th, but has cut the lead to 24.
-
OPL: this is the final day to get into the top 32. Geezer moved up to 35th, but needs to make up 39 points today. Geezer! Geezer! Geezer!
-
Geezer held steady at 38th, but dropped to 30 p/d with 2d left. It’s showtime Geezer!
-
Geezer has 2 or more SP each of the next 3 days so his pitching is lined up for an OPL run!
-
OPL: Geezer moved up to 38th with 3d left, but his p/d bumped up to 16. Go Geezer!
-
A question for our owners: If we increased our league to a $50 entry fee, and therefore would give prize money (200 for 1st, 100 for 2nd, and 50 for third, see the ottoneu page for prize leagues), who would play? Geezer and I think that if we had prizes, it would increase the engagement of owners. It might also cause some of our owners to not play. I am interested in our current owners thoughts.
-
OPL: A big day from Geezer has put him right in the hunt for the knock out round. He moved up 3 spots to 41st, but more importantly cut the p/d margin from 18.8 to 8.0. The challenge will be that there are a bunch of teams that are very close fighting to get to 32nd, so he needs to keep going hard, but with 4d left, his chances look better than they have over the past few weeks.
-
Geezer also took the lead from Cool Papa in our league.
-
OPL: with 5d left, Geezer moved up from 44 to 43, and essentially stayed even at 18.8 p/d (was 18.7). Go Geezer!
