Great thank-you!
-
My settings changed And I wasn’t getting notifications of chats and nominations yet. I’ll be cleaning up my roster. I understand we want active owners. I’m on it
-
Woah…I did not see that (Suzuki auction results) coming!
-
Schedule has been set by Ottoneu. You can now view it and set your lineups. Remember there are two matchups per week. 6 teams will make the playoffs.
-
I sent a message to Ottoneu help to look into when the schedule will be coming out. I’ll let you know what I find out.
-
Yesterday I felt pretty good about my $61 Tatis jr…. ☹️
-
Thanks for the info Shotani and Threat, see ya'll at 1500 hours EST

I encourage smack talk in the draft chat box. Especially if somebody misses a nomination or overpays for the wrong Wander Franco! Depending on how the draft goes we can take a break half way to get a per break, refill drinks or just get the blood flowing. FYI - during the draft you can either +1 the price, +5 or type in your own bid amount. That will help keep things moving. For higher priced guys, you don’t have to start at $1, especially for the guys that will go for $40+.
-
Nope. There is a place to text/communicate within the draft room. Also everyone should have my cell # if any issues arise.
-
Ottoneu Newb here - Other than my own materials/ranking software etc. for the draft and having access to the draft room (internet), is there anything else we should be aware of and/or have available (ie. Slack, Zoom)?
-
That’s cool. You are second owner on CET. I believe French Exit is the other.
-
welcome.

Hi All! New owner here. Been playing Ottoneu for a while now, and although I have been trying to cut down on the number of teams I have, really wanted to try H2H. This team seemed like a challenge too good to pass up. Located in Amsterdam and on CET, so sometimes no immediate responses to messages and offers.
-
I didn't hear back from anyone so I posted the link to the team on Slack. It was quickly claimed. We are back to full strength. Welcome Woodwork (team name TBA) to the league!
-
Looks like we are a team short now. Before I mark
It abandoned and open it up for anyone to claim are there any friends of yours who might want to join?
-
As discussed with commish I am not going to return. Sorry for late notice.
-
I vote to keep the draft date as is.
-
Unless I am missing something there are 7 votes for keep the date and 3 for delay. (Please recount yourselves bc I want to get this right). Have not heard from 2 teams. Either way 7 is the majority so the draft remains on 3/13 at 3pm.
Thank-you so much for the discussion and thoughtful responses. The participation was great which hopefully is a sign of a successful season.
-
I'll vote to keep it as scheduled
-
We have heard a definitive response from 9/12 owners so far. Just for the record while I see some of the pros of delaying I think the scheduling crunch will be too much. Therefore my vote is to keep the draft date on 3/13.
Mudville unless I missed it can you say keep or delay? Waiting on French Exit. Also Lollygagging pick one side of the fence please. :)
-
So I’m off the fence…I’ll officially vote to not delay
-
I just had 4 events scheduled in the past 24 hours for late March and early April, I would like to change my UN-enthusiastic 'delay' vote to an enthusiastic - "keep it where it is" vote...
No rule alterations, we are all in the same boat and any changes may/may not impact some teams more than others.
-
Lets give a few other owners a chance to chime in on delay draft or leave the same.
-
I am not interested in tweaking rules like allowing penalty free cuts after the draft. That opens up pandora's box and then we need to entertain/navigate every proposed tweak. It over complicates things and one of the beauty's of Ottoneu is its simplicity.
-
In summary - Delay means our risk is some league members may need to autodraft, or find someone to do it for them. Not delaying means our risk is we have incomplete info. I'd rather all 12 be involved, so vote against delay.
-
2) Delay or not. I did lean delaying, because it meant more info. But I get that its hard enough to get a draft date once, and who knows how small a window we will have to work with for a 2nd date. Once they agree, they may have 3 weeks till season, and we may only be able to find a draft within that first week because of our availability, and STILL have some free agents unsigned.
-
1) Totally against any rule changes as Mudville suggests. We either all operate with less info, or more, but we're all on the same page. If we allow leniency for all teams but only some teams need to make use of that leniency, then we're not all on the same page any longer.
-
Can we do away with the penalty of cutting a player for the first week of free agent signings if we keep the same draft date?

Same here stick with it, I'm in many leagues and it could be hard on some nights to make it
-
I say stick with it. Valuations aren't going to change that much. Rescheduling could be difficult. Everybody is in the same boat, so it is equally fair to each one.

I’ve got no particular feeling either way.
It’s already scheduled and rescheduling could prove problematic.
However, no doubt FA’s and maybe some others values will change.
Make me pick, I’d probably say Delay.
-
Delay
-
I’m in the “whatever” camp. There’s reasons to postpone and reasons to keep it as scheduled. The fact that player values could change based on where they sign has me thinking postponing would be best, but we will all have to be flexible and understanding if a draft date works for the majority and not yourself. It could all be settled tomorrow and this is all for moot, but I’ll believe it when I see it.
-
Some owners are in multiple leagues making it more of a challenge. Other than that you make good points.
-
Other than a condensed time period to agree on a draft date I can’t think of any cons. It’s hard to sync 12 different schedules so it might be challenging to agree on a date if/when things get going again.
-
Fine either way - would just be concerned it could be harder to find a date as many could make down the road.
-
Ok so forget a poll 😊. Please let us know via the message board here if you want to keep the draft on the 13th or postpone it until we have clarity on the season. Honestly I don’t have a strong feeling either way. I’m just upset that baseball is being delayed.
-
I gave points in my message. The variables I mentioned. What are the cons?
-
Agree with Meat. I will add my selfish reason of not being able to make the draft :)

Your missing the context (there isn’t any in messages) I’m not saying I’m pro early draft. I don’t know how I feel about it so I’m asking for input. No rush I’m just curious.
-
How many games are going to be the season? When will the season start? Where will the rest of the free agents sign? I’m sure there are more variables that change things. What’s the rush?
-
We will set up a poll for a vote.
I’m interested in peoples’s reasons. What are the pros and cons of a delay?
-
1 vote to delay

I think changing the draft date should be a league decision and can be put to a vote. I’m curious to know why you feel we should. I’m undecided if it helps us or not. I’m looking for opinions.
-
Can we delay the draft until they know when the season is going to start?
-
So 11 teams have filled out the Doodle poll and the date with the most votes (10) is March 13th. We are going for an afternoon start so our international owner(s) don’t have to be up during the middle of the night. You will be able to visit the draft room prior to the draft date and set up your watchlist/queue. The draft will probably take 3 hours.
Draft: Sunday March 13 at 3PM
-
Sunday afternoon is fine with me.

Any date is fine, I like weekend afternoons also
-
Phew! Glad deadline day is over. 10 teams have signed up and completed the Doodle poll. March 13 remains the best date with 9/10 saying it’s good. We will give it a few more days for the other teams to complete the pool and then set the date. If Sunday 3/13 ends up being the date are owners open to an early afternoon start instead of an evening? We do have one international owner so trying to prevent them from having to draft in the wee hours of the night. If that’s a deal breaker please respond.
