I'm fine with drafting on the 21st as planned but I'm open to whatever works for everyone
-
I'd prefer to keep the 21st as the draft date but also see the value of moving it back if enough people want to do so.

I'd prefer to keep the current date and just go ahead, but if anyone feels really strongly about cancelling I'd be ok.
-
While I understand where wRC is coming from, I agree with carrying on with the scheduled date. Scheduling is a huge part of my thinking, as we have to assume that at the time when MLB feels comfortable having games, a bunch of other events in our lives that are being postponed will also be vying for our time. There'll be a lot of catching up to do.
-
I'm happy to go with the majority on this...I'd be cool drafting on the 21st as per the current schedule, but if many wanted to push it back I won't argue. As commissioner of my home league I do know how painful it can be to coordinate 12 or more managers (my home league is going ahead with our scheduled online draft tonight).
-
I’d prefer to get the auction done because it’s a time we know works for everyone, and that may be hard to find especially if the season starts without a lot of advanced notice. Plus, once the auction is complete rosters will unlock and we’ll be able to make trades and add / drops and all that fun stuff.
That said, if people have strong thoughts on this, please speak up.
-
Would people be open to pushing the auction back, until we know more about the season?

The 21st works for us.
-
I’ve set the auction time to 8pm EST on March 21st. Please let me know ASAP if that does not work for you!
-
I can’t start any earlier than 7:00 pm CST.
-
The 21st works for me

Evening of the 21st should work for me.
-
I don't think I can do the afternoon on 3/21 but the evening slot would work.

As of right now, Saturday March 21st is the day that looks like the best bet. Does anybody have a hard conflict on that day?
-
i prefer sunday evenings as well but won't know my weekend schedule for a while. basketball playoffs are at the end of February. I recommend making all start times later for people in different time zones.

Sunday evenings work best for me. I umpire high school baseball in Texas, which has already begun. Tuesday and Friday evenings are almost always booked with some games on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Wednesday evenings might work as well.
-
I really can't imagine doing a slow auction. I've done slow (snake) drafts...in certain situations they are ok but not ever the preferred choice...I can't imagine watching a 24hr or 8hr lock nearly run out only to get reset on a +$1 increase...over and over and over. Like Commish says, shouldn't be a problem to find a window we can all make.
-
If you would be available for part of a window, please mark that as a maybe. And once we have general windows that could work, we can find specific times to auction. We have 2 months before the season starts, so we'll definitely be able to get this done.
-
Those blocks in the pole are there as “are you available in this general block of time.” We likely won’t need those full 4 hours, and can manipulate when we draft around those windows. Basically, are you free on the days / evenings listed. It’s not more granular than that
-
Couchmanagers.com is an option for slow drafts. You get 24 hrs to bid and if someone bids under 8 hrs the clock resets to 8 hrs for that player. That way you can log in at your leisure to check bids. Times are adjustable
-
Yeah, weeknights at 6 EST aren't ideal for me, either, since I'm in the mountain time zone. I marked them tentative because I can probably make it work with advance notice, but Friday or a weekend would be strongly preferred.
-
This should only take 3 hours or so, and could even be broken down into a couple of smaller chunks if necessary. A slow auction is a nightmare of an experience that would last a few weeks and just not be fun at all. I’m sure we’ll be able to find times that work for everyone on a real auction
-
Slow drafts are a lot better with the snake format, while the live auction style is better for this kind of league. It also probably won't take us two separate drafts to complete like last year. Also just putting this out there, we sometimes work later than 6PM EST on weekdays, so it might be hard to find a time other than Friday/weekends for us.
-
There are ways to do it via email and/or message boards but they’re really hard to administrate. Owners get 24 hours to match a high bid, etc. I’m not sure many people enjoy them.
-
Don’t see how we could do a slow draft auction. Everyone needs to be there to bid.
-
What about doing a slow draft over a few days?
-
Here is the link for auction dates. Once it's filled out with people's availability we can hammer down an exact date and time. https://doodle.com/poll/gpvy6dbsim53myiv
-
Hey guys, now that rosters are locked we need to decide on an auction time. I will be sending around a poll soon, so please fill it out with your available dates and times.
-
I can't wait for the auction.

2 hours until rosters lock. Make your cuts people.
-
T-minus 5 hours to get all your roster moves done. Once rosters lock at 11:59 no moves can be made and this is what you’ll have until the auction.
-
Trades accepted before rosters lockwill process as normal, but no acquired players can be cut as rosters will have locked. The roster lock deadline is from the platform and is not something I can change
-
How will these trades be handled? Rosters have to be set and legal by the end of today, correct? Cuts and trades cannot be made after 11:59 pm EST this evening until after the draft. If you are planning to extend roster moves through tomorrow to accommodate trades, the league needs to vote on that. We’ve known about this deadline since the end of the season and should adhere to it.
-
Thank you!
-
I figured that's what happened. I'm canceling it now.
-
Oh, shoot. Just hit Accept on that last trade instead of Reject (the Odorizzi trade). Commish, check my message on the trade, can you fix it to make it a Reject instead of an Accept please?
-
It should be interesting.
-
I for one am curious which players wRC cuts today ;)

24 hours until rosters lock and no more cuts can be made. So make those roster decisions today!

48 is too long anyway.
-
I'd be for making the change permanent as well.
-
We’re fine with that. Could we vote on making that permanent even? It doesn’t seem like people vote on the trades anyway.
-
Works for me.
