1.5 hours until the keeper deadline. Make sure you get your cuts in!
-
Welcome Savannah Sand Gnats! Love the team name
-
Hey all, I just want to remind everyone that the keeper deadline is this Sunday night, so make sure all your roster moves are done before then!
-
Good luck, hoping we get a full season!
-
Welcome and good luck!
-
Hi everyone, I'm taking over Supermassive Black Hole. Gonna try to get up to speed and make cuts as soon as I can before the deadline. Can talk deals once I have an idea of where the roster is at. Thanks, look forward to the season!
-
Unless someone lets me know about a prospective replacement owner, I will mark Supermassive as abandoned tomorrow morning, so please, please tell me if you know of someone who would be interested
-
Thank you to Hugh. It's the end of an era. Also we wanted to ask when we're going to nail down a date for the auction?
-
Supermassive has just let me know that he will not be returning to the league next season. Hugh, it's been a pleasure having you here. Rest of the league, let me know if you know anyone interested in taking over for him ASAP. I will likely mark the team as abandoned very soon so we have an opportunity for someone to join before the keeper deadline
-
As far as I'm aware, everyone in the league plans on returning. If that is not the case, please let me know ASAP
-
just curious commish, are we fully stocked with managers? All 12 are back?
-
All, we are T-minus 6 days from the keeper deadline, so get those last minute deals in and then make sure you get all your cuts done by the deadline.
-
Hey all, I just want to remind everyone that we all need to pay for next year by 1/31, which is also the keeper deadline
-
We are very concerned that Hugh has not allocated any arb money. Hugh-- If this is goodbye, we would like to salute you as a great player and friend. God bless you and your family.
-
Hey all, I just want to remind everyone that arbitration needs to be spent by the 14th. You can also edit your allocations anytime until then, so no excuse to wait!
-
Arbitration season has begun, make sure you spend all those dollars by November 14th
-
Congratulations on winning the league, Morristown! And congrats to the commish and Green Sox for second and third place. Weβre looking forward to the off-season and to hopefully a full season next year. Stay safe!
Thanks,
Izzy
-
Thanks for another fun season! Great race down the stretch. Crazy year this year, but Iβm glad we got to play. Looking forward to playoff baseball and a return to normalcy for 2021.
-
Congrats to Morristown! Hope all you guys have been well. Here's to hoping we get a full 162 games next year.
-
Congrats Morristown! Another good race this year between yourself and the commish. And well done Green Sox, back to back cashes.

I'm irrationally Jazzed
-
Yeah, itβs important to keep our specific marketplace in context and the Hader salary is definitely a mitigating factor. It still has a bit of a βWha?β factor to me, but I absolutely buy into the point that all that matters is what our specific league is seemingly willing to pay for these players.
-
Your 2 cents are welcome...but consider a couple of things. I posted both Hader & Wheeler as available a week ago and haven't received a single offer. I have offered them up in similar if not exact trade offers to a couple of contenders and been declined. Hader at $27 + inflation is definitely not a keeper for me and likely not for many.
Wheeler at $18 is a decent but not spectacular value. I have no regrets...and I suspect the market is more accurate than you realize here.
-
Jeez, it takes a lot for me to speak up about a trade but wow. Wheeler and Hader are still players in their prime. Giving them up and giving a loan of $44 for Kristian Robinson just feels absurd to me. Ultimately, this league polices itself well but, unless I'm misunderstanding something, this one feels pretty gross. Just my two cents.
-
We're looking to do an NBA-style deal ASAP. Eduardo Escobar, Robbie Ray, and Edwin are all available for nothing. If you want one or all of them, make an offer.
-
So opening day is upon us . . . Finally. Just curious, I am the only one who looked at his team this week and thought "hmmm, I thought my starting pitching was better than this."

I kind of presumed that Ottoneu would determine service time rules based on what MLB decides upon. I based my draft strategy on a shorter season and MLB granting a year of service time prorated on the season starting at some point. But that's a side concern - wish they would get the revenue issue resolved. It's stunning that it's billionaires arguing over millions when a lot of their fans are struggling to make ends meet. For the good of the country, they should just get a deal done.

Agreed Commish and Sixto. We just thought it would be good to bring up since we can all make moves. The Bob Witt Jr. auction this a.m. made us think we should bring it up to everyone. His value is very dependent on what we decide to do with arb. We'd be in favor of skipping it completely, but it's up to everyone.
-
I think itβs not worth trying to figure out an arb strategy for out league until we know whatβs going to happen with an MLB season, and until we know how ottoneu will handle it by default.
-
Oh that's interesting...I had assumed Ottoneu would determine the policy themselves. If it's up to us, then yeah I think we should discuss...wRC, do you have something in mind? A full skip of arb? Or some kind of half or reduced measure? It's probably best to just chat about it until MLB figures out exactly what they are doing.
-
Hey guys. Hope everyone is doing well in these crazy times. I'm sure we're all frustrated with the state of the MLB and the negotiations regarding this season. We wanted to discuss arbitration for next season though. Is the plan for us to continue along with arbitration as normal regardless of a season being played? Or should we adjust the plan once we know more about this season? Niv (the owner of Ottoneu) said itβs up to each league.
-
Agreed. I signed up for a paid membership.
-
Thanks for posting this. Fangraphs is invaluable to all of us here. $3 a month is worth keeping it afloat in these tough times for sports-related media.

Just wanted to put this out there https://blogs.fangraphs.com/a-fangraphs-update-were-asking-for-your-help/

Rosters do need to be legal.
-
Question for discussion: are we treating this period like the post-keeper deadline or the regular season? Do rosters have to be legal? Our main concern is players who aren't on the 60 day IL, who in normal circumstances would be.

I was just thinking about Strat-o-Matic yesterday. Played as a kid and tries an early online version of the game. Would definitely be interested in this!
-
Hey folks - please excuse the blast email but if anyone is interested in playing Strat-o-Matic 365 (all online) simulation using 2019 player cards, let me know and I'll send instructions. It's $20 to play, payable to Strat through their website.

We are less than an hour from the start of the auction. Please don't be late.
-
Strat-o-matic is going to simulate the season as it was originally scheduled. That will be fun. Might have to check out that game. Haven't played in awhile but it's definitely different.

We're still good with drafting tomorrow.
-
Same here. Just need stuff to pass the time as much as anything.
-
I'd still like to draft/auction Saturday. Desperate to scratch the itch. I honestly believe there won't be a season this year (will be happily shocked if there is), but I'd still very much enjoy doing the auction.
-
Yeah, I'm still ok with drafting on the 21st. Just glad we didn't draft already (Chris Sale). Trying to adjust my algorithm to discount player value for a 4-month season.

Hey guys, I just wanted to send a reminder that we're still planning on drafting this Saturday the 21st at 8pm EDT. If people feel that we should delay the auction in light of the unknown delay time, we can discuss that. I still vote for getting the auction over with so that rosters unlock and because who knows what our schedules will be once our lives return to normalcy, but if people feel differently now is the time to chime in.
-
It seems like we'd all rather do the auction on the 21st, which is definitely cool with us if it's still cool with the commish. Just want to make sure we're all good knowing the season is going to most likely start a month late, best case scenario.
-
Iβd prefer to go ahead and draft on the 21st as well, but am fine pushing it back if thatβs what the majority wants to do.

We're also ok, either way.

Either option is okay with me
