I don't have a problem
-
Does anybody have an issue with me changing the trade process time from 48 hours to 24 hours until the keeper deadline? This would give us an extra day to make moves and trades prior to rosters locking
-
I've got some good players available for blockbusters. Including some stars like Stanton, Ozuna, and Price, and cheaper guys like Voit, Dozier, Betances, and Julio Rodriguez also available. Send me offers and let's go into the roster lock with a bang.
-
pretty quiet out there...maybe too quiet. Anymore blockbusters coming before the deadline?
-
I'm considering moving Gerrit Cole, send me your offers if you're interested.
-
love the format, glad we are sticking with season long
-
@Supermassive I mean we can all give you shit for that nothing return you got for Yelich, if that’s what you’re looking for... lol

I was just asking if we could put it to a vote. Generally speaking I like Ottonue better than the CBS leagues I’m in, but I do prefer playing H2H each week (builds rivalries and generates more smack). I really like the auction, arbitration, free agent aspects. I just felt that the season quietly rolled a long until it just ended. Maybe this is just a quiet group of guys, which is fine. Let’s play on.
-
I prefer points over H2H in ottoneu, and agree with points made by others. And like others, thought there was a lot of action in the league (especially going from last place to 4th by the last week of the season). Also, ottoneu has made some changes to its H2H format that seem very restrictive on lineups, so there's no guarantee you won't run into issues were you to switch.

I don't know entirely, but it felt like maybe some managers did not read through the entire Ottoneu rules, or FAQ's and as a result made some early mistakes with their rosters which may have set them back. The Fangraphs points system is also different (I really like it). I can't know this, it just felt like based on some of the questions posted and some of the moves I observed that this was likely. Perhaps with a season under our belts everybody will be more comfortable.
-
We loved the season-long aspect. That's why we picked this league. It was basically H2H between us and Sixto until the very last day of the season. H2H has a bit of randomness, while the season-long format seems more skill based
-
I’m not planning on switching to H2H or adding a playoff. And we had the tightest finish across all ottoneu last year, so I don’t think we lacked excitement down the stretch either
-
I really enjoyed the season and the format. This is one of my favourite leagues because of all the variables. I'm in H2H leagues already and they are fun too but I hope this doesn't change. I selected this league from the list of options last year precisely because of its specific format. There were H2H options listed. My 2 cents on the matter.
-
Would it be possible to post a poll asking the group if they’d like to change the format a bit? I felt last season lacked energy or any kind of excitement at all. It just sort of end with a whimper. I’d really like to see us shift to a H2H format with a playoff. It would generate more excitement and build rivalries. At the very least, I’d like us to add a playoff to our current format (not sure how that works, but think I saw that as an option). Thanks, Hugh

We are 1 week away from the keeper deadline, so make sure you get in those trades and cuts before the end of the 31st!
-
https://community.ottoneu.com/t/planned-baseball-gameplay-changes-for-2020-gp-ip-cap-changes-and-auto-eject-option/6736 There will be an "auto eject" button next season that you can use to automatically remove benched players from your lineup.
-
Mike Trout is on the block. Any clown offers will be laughed out of the building.
-
Thanks! I'm glad I asked. haha
-
Rule VII.a "After the keeper deadline and before the auction draft, teams may not cut or trade any players." I'm 95% sure that trades can be accepted through the 31st, and can process during the first two days of January, but no offer can be made or accepted after January 31st.
-
No its both. Rosters lock after 1/31 and no moves can be made. I believe trades accepted before the end of 1/31 can still process, but I need to double check that.
-
Just to confirm, 1/31 is a keeper deadline only, right?. We can still make trades, up until the auction?
-
We're now in 2020 and I wanted to remind everyone they need to pay for next year. The deadline is January 31st (same day as rosters lock), so make sure you pay by the end of the month

Ha Ha. I don't think this is THAT kind of fantasy baseball...
-
Nice! Had to read that post twice. Thought you said the new name was the Baseball Furries. Not that there’s anything wrong with that... ;)
-
Thank you! We’ve changed our team name from Texas Aggies to Baseball Furies. Can’t wait to get the season started again!
-
Welcome to the league, Texas! Looking forward to having you aboard for the new season.
-
Thank you for the invitation!
-
Let's welcome the new owners of Texas Aggies to the league!
-
Thanks, looking forward to the season
-
I'd like to a moment to welcome the new owner of Honey Nut Ichiros to the league!
-
We have 2 open teams
-
How many owners are we down?
-
Wish MLB actually managed the Expos after Loria sold them and tried to keep them competitive before moving to DC. Thank you, commissioner.

Good call on the commissioner’s part.
-
Okay, doing both in one action is pretty bad. I’m still not thrilled to have the trade cancelled.
-
He messaged me yesterday literally 5 minutes after accepting the offer saying he was leaving. That’s not a good faith trade.
-
You can't just make a trade then immediately peace. thats not in good faith
-
Really? The trade was already accepted, why should it be cancelled? Decisions made prior to leaving the league should stand.
-
Honey Nut Ichiros messaged me saying he isn’t staying in the league. As a result, I’m canceling his pending trade so that whoever takes over can make their own roster decisions
-
Arbitration ends on on Thursday the 14th at the end of the of the day, and we all have until then to change our allocations if we want. After that, rosters unlock and we have until the end of January to make trades and drop players. No players can be claimed or added until the auction next year, so if someone gets dropped they will be available in the auction, and players dropped during this period have no cap penalty.
-
If Aggies isn't playing, then how is he allowed to spend arb money? Seems that should not be allowed.
-
I found a replacement for Seattle Mariners, I'm still looking for one for Texas Aggies so please let me know if you know of someone
-
Seattle Mariners will also not be continuing next season, so that team is also up for grabs if anyone knows someone who wants to join.
-
Hey guys, Texas Aggies has informed me he won't be back in the league next year, so if anyone knows someone who would be interested in taking over, please let me know

What happens after arbitration ends? Will the salary cap increase? When we cut players, will all their salary come off the books or only half like during the season? Can we make trades now, after arbitration or not until next season?
-
The season never ends! Arbitration has started. You can complete your allocations on the "arbitration" tab on the 2nd bar on top of the page. I recommend filling it in early, then fiddling around as the month goes on and you can see how other teams are spending their money. Your choices do not go final until the arbitration deadline on November 14th, so you can make whatever changes you feel like between now and then.
-
Arbitration starts this Tuesday, October 15th, and ends November 14th. The rules are here (https://ottoneu.fangraphs.com/rules#offseason) in section VII.d.i. We're an allocation style arbitration league. Summary is: Each team has $25 to allocate to the other teams in the league, you must put at least $1 towards every team, and you can't put more than $3 towards any team.
