Looks like baseball is back! Tentative Opening Day is April 7th with a full 162 game season. For our auction the current leading vote getter is Tuesday the 22nd at 6:30PM EST. I have added new options to the poll taking us to the new Opening Day. Please respond ASAP with availability as I will close the poll and schedule the auction at the end of this weekend.

I think that's a good plan...schedule one for a date that works at the end of March and then re-assess what's going on with MLB just before?

Doodle as a platform went down for a couple of days but it should be back up now for people to fill out the poll. I agree that we should wait for the auction, but I'd like to have a tentative date set up in case we need to move quickly once (if) a deal is reached. If there isn't an agreement by auction date we will postpone and then find a new date once an agreement is reached.

I haven't responded to the poll yet. I recommend that we don't draft until there is a labor agreement. There aren't many key free agents but I'd like to see where they land before bidding. How does everyone else feel? How have the votes shaken out so far for a draft date?

I think it makes sense to hold off on the draft until we get clarity on the season (assuming there is one). I am planning to be away April 25-May 1. Would prefer to avoid that week, sorry.

I'm flexible...probably can make any date work in march or April (if necessary) so whatever works for the majority is fine with me...schedule now or hold off for a bit either is good

I think waiting for the CBA makes the most sense since there are still so many players currently unsigned. To help with the difficulty of getting everyone's schedules together for the draft, we could go ahead and select a date in mid to late March to allow for the most players to have found new homes and then simply bump it later if the two sides still don't have a deal in place a few weeks ahead of our draft date. Just an option for us.

The keeper deadline is in 4 days and it looks like people are starting to make their cuts, once that's done we're going to need to start thinking about when we're going to have our auction. My strong preference is to wait and have it after we know when the season will start, but that means we might have to move quickly once an agreement is reached. If people would prefer having something on the books before then I'd be open to that, so please chime in if y'all have thoughts.

Unfortunately MLB couldn't get their act together and real baseball is shutdown with a lockout. But we aren't so let's stick it to the league and make a ton of trades while we wait! As of now my understanding is that ottoneu will continue with business as usual in regards to deadlines (both keeper and payment) but Niv, Ottoneu's founder, has said he'll post updates if that changes. Those will likely be at https://community.ottoneu.com/ if people are interested.

I just checked, and it looks like it took about two hours and twenty minutes last year. So that may be doable for us, but it’s cutting it a little close.

We have another draft at 4pm on 3/21, so starting at 1pm might be cutting it too close. I don’t remember how long the draft should take. Any idea?
