Ngb , thank you. Most of my grain is imported from Germany, and trust me they wouldnt allow that.
-
Perhaps of interest to the beer guys... https://www.eenews.net/assets/2019/02/25/document_gw_03.pdf
-
I should put this in my trade block but I donโt want to lose the 1969 reference (I think I last updated it after my first trade with NGB, when I got Reggie Jackson and Tom Seaver for the rights to Carlton Fisk; I thought Kloobsโs grandfather was going to quit the leagueโgood times!). My old guys need an ace to carry them towards glory. Anyone with a 2020 focus have one and interested in Shohei?
-
I agree w/ Kloobs.
-
Brent is trader Vic so far this early season
-
I don't think NGB is gonna have to worry about the tax.
-
Interesting trade. Brent gets Drew Waters and NGB gets some wiggle room. But he's $1 closer to luxury tax.
-
SD hitting prospects are good, but man their pitching looks scarry good . Could be a dynasty team..yes im watching 30 teams in 30 days
-
Ive come full circle on viewing early spring training games. Before I joined this league , i wasnt interested in first two weeks or so of spring training. Now its a more important showcase of future talent.
-
No Braves viewing, Bat, was out grocery shopping w/ Maria.
-
Michael Chavis reminds of Dan Uggla, i assume some of you are watching red sox yankees
-
NGB, you watching the Braves today? Started Camargo and Riley at SS and 3B, not pushing either to the OF very hard. Maybe keeping the spot open? Iโd take Harper, 3 years for around $100 million, with an opt-out after every year. Theyโve got the money for it.
-
Bat, Good pt. about SF OF. And wasn't SF the landing spot of another Giant asshole named Bonds?
-
If Philly is for assholes, the the best fit for Harper seems obvious.
-
The Giants RF is the worst in mlb for a LH pull hitter. Their team core is old and fading. Theyโre unlikely to win again for a long time. It would be a pretty crazy decision by both parties for that to happen. Heโd have to essentially be insistent upon living on the west coast, and with no competitive offer from either LA or SD for that to happen.
-
I can picture Bryce as a Giant the most, just fits. Philly is for assholes, obnoxious fans
-
Ever look at the Giants OF? Not that they're as bad as CWS, but maybe a little more likely to spend?
-
No. They will do the Palka Polka
-
What's that chant rising up from the Southside... Bryce, Bryce, Bryce.
-
Didn't think it was possible, but the ZiPS projection for the CWS outfield is even worse than for the Cubs. And they're not projecting Eloy to be all that much help in 2019 (1.9 WAR). Guess 1.9 is a lot of help when other two guys are -0.1 and -0.5 WAR!!
-
Hammer Mechanics ๐จ's trade block has been updated!
-
I would have thought Charles would have traded for Machado by now.
-
Agreed!
-
Dude. Just give it a rest. Youโre not getting anywhere with this.
-
I'd have the same concerns if SD signed Arenado for $30M in view of his 207 OPS split. And some think 140 is comical?
-
Hot-stove discussions are great entertainment. Can't wait to see what Manny does on the field. His 122 OPS+ for the Dodgers just worries me in view of his being a total Camden Yards phenomenon up to now.
-
So a year as a top-3 3B means it was a success? He did that in 2016, .877 OPS and a little over 6 WAR. That seems repeatable in the next couple years.
-
Henry ,tell us about Dalbec
-
The projections have him around 5.5 war next year, so if 1 war is worth $5.5 million, sure.
-
It's a bad signing if he's never a top 3 player at his position over the life of the contract. It's a bad signing if he's the same player for SD that he was for the Dodgers.
-
I want to see harper in sf
-
Manny's OPS in Baltimore last season was greater than .925; so if you all think .925 is out of his reach, then do you think being the 6th or 7th best OPS 3B is a $30M player.
-
Pat, i meant his season as LAD, when he grew a gut and got lazy
-
Ha, sorry Pat, I didnโt mean to repeat all your points. Guess I was typing mine up while you posted yours
-
Is an ops of .827 and a 121 wRC+ in 107 games really an embarrassment to the game? Seems a pretty high bar.
-
The projections all have him between an 864 and 880 OPS, and his career high is 905, so taking the under on a 925 is a wager against a strawman. As for whether or not it was a good signing for SD, thatโs probably a question that will still be difficult to answer 10 years from now after the results have played out. For example, was Werth a good signing? Iโd argue he was, and that Iโm damn glad the Nats did that.
-
Good luck finding anyone to take over .925โheโs never done that any year, an was .905 last year. Steamer says .862, zips says .849. You going under those? And how do you decide if it was a bad signing?
-
I think andruw jones lied about his age, he too got old/shitty way fast. His year on the white sox was an embarassment to the game
-
With all that's been discussed, I'm still taking the under on .925 OPS for SD Manny and taking the over on SD having made a bad signing.
-
Bat, Also, Jr. played 843 games in a Reds uniform... So probably only 400+ games in Cincy... So I mis-stated the 843 number.
-
Looks like SD is paying Manny $14 million in 2019 (less than he made in 2018, and not remotely like the best player in the game), so heโs got a year to get used to the new home park before he needs to be good to earn his paycheck.
-
Gutboy ? He liked the food in LA apparently.
-
Brew, if you want to get NGBโs attention you need to include Andruw on that list.
-
Dodgers stadium isnโt actually negative for homers for RH batters
-
NGB, isnt it possible that park factors matter (though probably not as much as Kloober thinks), but individual home/road splits donโt (or matter a lot less)? (โMatterโ means โreliably tells us something about future production.โ) And youโd lose that Jr bet.
-
Helton was juicing, like sosa, mcguire, tejada ,got old fast . Walker was great in Montreal and had a cannon arm
-
And 140 points of OPS difference
-
I think youโre constructing a false dichotomy there, NGB, as the answer is almost certainly somewhere between your points of โcompletely irrelevant
-
Neither Walker nor Helton are HoF.
-
Henry, i thought that too..however i think day vs night is a huge factor for all three coastal nl teams
