Yeah, he received a $29 loan, so pretty cut and dry

Henry was already over $425, so a new $29 loan for Thor should kick in the tax, right?
-
$29 received from Henry for a running total of $275. That said, I clearly donβt quite understand the salary cap tax as I canβt figure out why Henry owes $29. A little help please?
-
And off the grid

I thought Schmegs was deep in the bush with a machete and a canteen in summer time
-
Was a GREAT trade for Schmegs. Has used so many of his innings up, and gets Blackmon and Ramirez for SPs who he was gonna end up benching sooner than later.

The cap sort of forces that this time of year. It's much easier to send drops than accept loans.
-
geez that trade was like one of Charles package offers
-
So with that broken wrist today, I have capspace if anyone wants to sell me on some useful rental

The new updated mlb pipeline 100 list is out, some moved in, some up, and some way down : http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2019?list=prospects
-
Also, perhaps we have different definitions of "comparable".
-
Given, until a guy faces mlb pitching (see Kyle Tucker, Luis Urias, Francisco Mejia, etc., etc.) extrapolation is just an exercise in entertainment. I think the possibilities still include a $26M ceiling for LouBob; also inlcude a Kyle Tucker floor.
-
Can you imagine the Nats (or anyone) trading Soto for Alvarez? Alvarez is certainly a more similar hitter to Soto, and he is doing this in MLB, but I donβt expect that .400 babip and 1-in-3 fly balls going into the stands to continue. Alas (at least in FCA).
-
Bat, Fair enough, I probably would have had those same kind of expectations for Alvarez, speaking of which, LouBob's age 22 AAA stats pretty closely match the age 22 AAA stats of Alvarez (w/RC+ of 169 v. 170; though LBob walks less and K's less than Alvarez did). So is Alvarez, also not a "comparable" bat to Soto?
-
Didnt quite say that. I like Robert, think he could be a really great player, 7 ppg seasons are certainly possible if not exactly expected. But today is his 22nd birthday, and Soto doesnβt turn 21 for another 3 months. Heβs going to get better, possibly a lot better (take a look at that zips 3-year projection, though zips has a serious crush on Soto). A 9+ ppg season seems about as likely for Soto as 7+ seems for Robert.
-
Bat, Would love to hear why you're so sure 7 ppg in mlb is not even a possibility for LouBob.
-
For the record, I did all caps LOL, maybe I needed to boldface it too; I don't really expect there ever again will be a contract as team friendly as Albies' contract.
-
You guys who think Robert can hit like Soto are dreaming (sure, heβs a better fielder who can run). And they gave him a $26 million signing bonus, so thereβs no way he signs a cheap extension.
-
Maybe a hybrid cross of Robles and Soto then
-
LouBob not as precocious as Soto, LouBob was in Rookie Ball at 20 yrs-old, Soto was putting up historic numbers in mlb at 20 yrs-old. But once LouBob is established in mlb, he has a chance to be a more well-rounded player than Soto... comparable bat with better defense and better speed.
-
Madrigal = Starlin Castro
-
Luis Robert = Juan soto
-
Brew, Silly ChiSox, they need to get LouBob up now and then just sign him to a 7-year $35M contract like the Braves did with Albies after pushing him hard to mlb... kinda makes the CBA moot. LOL
-
Classic 4 A player that had better enjoy sushi
-
Brew, Interesting theory on Cron, though I don't see the evidence for it yet. Cron: mlb slugging pct. of .534; Blash: mlb slugging pct. of .307.
-
Word is they want to bring him and Madrigal up together and play them every day in September . I believe that GMs believe the whole terms of service bs will be torn up at new CBA. ( as it should be )
-
Brew, Are the south-side fans getting restless yet about LouBob? What's the scuttle on why the ChiSox think he needs more AAA seasoning? I guess I'm just spoiled by how aggressively the Braves push their top prospects.
-
Cron = Jabari Blash.
-
Brent, What do you hear about the D-backs plan for Kevin Cron? He's hit 31 HRs in only 59 AAA games and they can't find a place for him to play in mlb? What gives? I was really hoping the D-backs would use the trade deadline to either ship him to another team or open up a place for him on the mlb roster.
-
Not yet. Everyone already has a cheap good catcher, I guess.
-
Henry getting too many offers for Smith ?
-
$3 received from Henry for a running total of $246.
-
Sorry to create the complication.
-
I just sent the money. Totally lost track of the fact that there was a loan in that trade.
-
...the scores as are, or let Henry pay his $3 tax and move on. Thoughts?
-
I missed that Henry owes $3 for the trade and don't appear to have received payment. According to the rules that trade should be voided, however, because I missed it until now, the players have already scored points for their new teams. Not sure if commissioners can adjust scores, but before I go through the trouble of figuring it out, do we really want to void the trade, return the players, and modify the scores accordingly? We could also just void the trade, return the players, and leave...
-
Who needs an OF or two that can help them next season? Dickerson, Stewart, and Smith are all on the IL and I'm looking for production in the present.

Happ is an obstinate asshole doesn't take to coaching real well

Was kind of hoping someone might take a flyer on Happ.

When our trade was first pitched sometime yesterday, a real-life Bauer deal was just a rumor -- but no one was rumoring that Bauer might be traded to Colorado. We eventually sealed the deal just before the real Bauer trade hit the wires. I just checked the time stamps -- 10:03pm in CFC. 10:09pm in ESPN.
-
Puig is FA after season, I doubt Indians sign him. Miami, just for ticket sales, should really try and fill up with Cuban players
-
Pretty big deal there between contenders late in the season. Also impressively timed with the real Bauer trade
