I know, I know, you’re competing in your own special way, for 2022 or whatever. Great, I’m sure we’ll hear all about it if we’re still alive
-
Look just below. You’re 8000 points back in a league that was just started. You rarely if ever field a lineup, and your games and innings paced look like mid season. Is it really so comical to say you’re not competing?
-
Yeah, I actually agree with you, I’m not one of the folks who wanted to change the rules. I guess some people don’t like the selling, some don’t like the buying, even though both are clearly compelling. I do think it will be interesting to see how/if it plays out differently in the 2 leagues.
-
... same frequency as Kloobs. I'll have a gold trophy on my team page; 8 teams in the league won't. Sure, please keep believing I'm not competing.
-
I find it comical that some are selling the narrative that team-building ("tanking") is "not competing". I'm viewed by some as the poster boy for tanking in Full Circuit, yet in my 5 seasons I've finished top-4 three times...
-
I thought the avoidance of super teams was less about competition at the top and more about stopping tanking by the teams that weren’t competing for first (after all, it’s the tanking that’s the non-competitive behavior), though I do think we thought the improved payouts to the top teams would be an incentive too (but that doesn’t start until next year). But honestly the discussion got so tiring I may have misunderstood.
-
Bat, I remember aiming for both, more competitive at the top by eliminating super payroll super teams, and more competitive below that with incentives.
-
While that is great, we designed the league to keep teams 5 to 9 involved. I think this is a bonus (and am not sure it lasts in the future, but we’ll see).
-
Is it possible to plan for tie-breaker games, or is it just luck of the draw?
-
** unless it turns out it's 13 or 14 days remaining... any of you contenders planning for that?
-
Four teams, 150 pt spread, 12 days remaining... Exactly what we designed this league for!!! LOVE IT.
-
You mean shitty Sam Hilliard.
-
Nooooooo. Shitty Matt Wieters of all people
-
Henry owned him in both leagues ,ouch ! Diaz from Mets is out there ya know
-
At this rate, I'm due a PED suspension and a pair of family leaves.
-
Just chicken and beer.
-
Damn, Henry, what kind of stuff are you tolerating in your squad’s clubhouse?
-
I hate pitching.
-
Has anyone made a trade with every other manager in the league?
-
Bill Belichick just made a trade with the Jets.
-
I view trades, not all, and by in large, as parasitical
-
Not sure ,but none of his offers outraged me. This league seems way less trading and I like it
-
Have you actually made a trade with John in this league?
-
John is also great and knowing what buttons to push to get me trading.
-
The point is that Kevin is all knowing and uses that towards his advantage. He knows exactly type guys i like and offers them up to where I have to click yes
-
Sounds like Oliver Twist
-
Nah man. Everyone received messages via ravens. That's like the Westerosi postal service. When they referred to his little birds, they were talking about the swarm of kids that would hide and eavesdrop for him. The same rabble that Qyburn (QYBURN!?) bribed with candies to murder nasty old maester Pycelle
-
Varys received intelligence via carrier pigeons which were black
-
“Little birds” it was, I believe. And if Kev had an army of spying homeless vagrant children at his disposal, I think I’d have tripped over 1 or 2 of them by now
-
And his black birds
-
It's no use, kevin is like Varys , well informed and perceptive of others moves
-
Up bid at auction guys he is after
-
Jeez, just what we need... conspiracy talk.
-
How do we do that?
-
Kevin is the # 1 seed next year , lets gang up on him
-
Calling it now: Mikey.
-
The usual suspects, you, Kevin, and Hook?
-
You raise a good point Ipsa. There's been some discussion handicapping 2020 in the other league, but none here. Who are the early favorites in this league for 2020?
-
Is it, though?
-
More dough for me
-
Next year is when it gets interesting. There will be some real money in the prize pool.
-
It's going to be painful watching Ho fade. Like watching a marathon runner who gets the rubber legs 300 meters from the line.
-
Pretty sure you're looking at the spurious variable. In 2014 no one knew enough about the format to race to a $600 payroll, so the only two years there was no race to $600 you had 4 teams in the hunt until the end.
-
Nope. You are attributing the competition to the wrong variable. First year = competitive league. At least in this group we are 2 for 2.
-
What are you saying, having a real cap works?
-
Top 4 separated by 650 points. It'll be a wild ride.
-
Hey, just now seeing those posts about Max. Bats, yes actually, he looked like his old self except for the fourth inning when I believe he gave up all his hits. Otherwise he looked pretty dominant.
-
I knew that Lance Lynn start was a bad idea.
-
The Nats must think his back is fine since they used him to pinch-run the other day, which seems incredibly stupid even if he’s healthy and fireable if he’s not.
-
I didn’t see the game (I did go back to watch the 9th inning, which was really something; Mets gotta Met) but in the box score and pitch fx Max looked...fine? And he wasn’t Paxton but he was a lot more help to the Loquiturs cause than DeGrom. Looks like he left a cutter up to Panik, but Max gives up HRs. Was there more (less?) to his night that doesn’t come through in the numbers?
